My cousin and I once had a discussion about this, but there are many songs (particularly from the 90s) that sound like they could be in Disney animated princess movies - going by both the powerful vocal delivery and also the instrumental arrangement in the background of the songs. Of course actual Disney songs like "Beauty and the Beast" by Celine/Peabo and "Whole New World" by Peabo/Regina which charted are not being counted here because they were actually used in Disney movies. These others are separate.
BEST EXAMPLE: "Save the Best for Last" - Vanessa Williams (This one so obviously sounds like one that you could easily picture Ariel, Belle, or Jasmine singing this right in the movie)
OTHER GREAT EXAMPLES: "Hero" - Mariah Carey "If You Asked Me To" - Celine Dion (although I guess most Celine songs from the 90s also fit) "I'll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me" - Expose "Place in this World" - Michael W. Smith (I could see Hercules or Hunchback singing this) "I Fall All Over Again" - Dan Hill "That's What Love is For" - Amy Grant "Could've Been" - Tiffany "Saving Forever for You" - Shanice
A few songs from the early 2000s are like more updated versions of this sound: "A Moment Like This" - Kelly Clarkson "Ordinary Day" - Vanessa Carlton
Do you all agree with these selections? Also, any others to add to this?

I always thought this song sounded straight from a Disney movie.

What is so crazy is that I was going to put STBFL until I saw you already mentioned it...I have always said STBFL (one of my favorite songs ever and of all time) sounds very Disney like

I love Whitney but her huge Pop/AC ballads from the 80s definitely could he considered
Inside Your Heaven- Carrie Underwood
Live To Tell- Madonna
Lost In Your Eyes- Debbie Gibson
Any of Taylor's Swift early material ballads (not saying that it's bad or anything)
Again- Janet Jackson

Good choices! Agreed on STBFL. Probably one of the best songs of the 90s.

No wonder Vanessa Williams did the pop cover of Colors Of The Wind just a few years later.

Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams". Maybe not so much production-wise, but it just feels like something a Disney princess would sing.

Everything about Kelly's new "Merry Christmas to the One I Used to Know" sounds like it could be the standout song from the next Frozen soundtrack.

Actually love most of these songs. Call me cheesy. But most 90s ballads have a Disney feel.
Let’s include “I Turn To You” by Christina Aguilera and “For You I Will” by Monica (Technically a space jam/Warner Bros. song but could’ve very well served for Disney too.)
Key lyrics to look for in these types of songs, are spreading your wings, the moon, the sky, the stars, rain, the ocean, heaven, rivers, seas, winds, heroes. All these key words equate to a Disney ballad. Two perfect examples of actual Disney ballads that are the foundation of these lyrics are “A Whole New World” and “Colors of the Wind.”

I see these songs more like the hit song at the credits of a Disney movie rather than a number in the film. Because MAN, there really is a difference.

Also I’d include “I Swear” by All4One and “Truly, Madly, Deeply” by Savage Garden. Maybe not a Disney Princess song, but Disney-ish for sure.

Also, "Pretty Baby" by Vanessa Carlton.
I was wondering if Avril has any Disney princess like songs, and I think "I'm With You" could fit actually.

I could imagine this being sung by the male love interest in a Disney movie.
