T.K.O. (The Knock Out) is eighth studio effort by recording artist Mýa. It is the follow-up to the Grammy nominated Smoove Jones. Commemorating her 20 years in the entertainment industry, T.K.O.(The Knock Out) shows the R&B goddess pulling out all the tricks from her two decades in the mix. Mýa wraps her gorgeous voice around between-the-sheets funk, using playful metaphors (“Knock You Out”) and fun '90s R&B album devices like whispered intros and seductive voicemail messages. “Hey, beautiful. It’s me, returning your call.” Remember those?

I much prefer Smoove Jones overall, but this was a nice album listen to. My faves are Ready 4 Whatever 2.0 and Ready.

This album was way to smooth for me. Thank god I wasn’t really buying cd’s at this point and was using ITunes because I would have skimmed through it and put it in the corner never to be heard from again. I think I kind of liked 2 tracks from it. I may have purchased “Down”, but only listened to it for a month or so. I’m more Mya 1998-2011. I still check her out with every release and have been into a few songs but, not as much as I used to be. I always want her to succeed though.
