In terms of the past several years where streaming has been a big thing, what is the record for lowest streams for the #1 on the Hot 100? not sure, but it's probably one of Butter's weeks at #1. I just saw it had 8,1M streams in its 9th week at #1.

The people who created the calendar are so sick and twisted for making Christmas Eve and Day fall right at the start of the tracking week, meaning all these songs are still charting even though people were only listening to them for 2 days

And they use the exact same Friday-Thursday tracking period as we do, just with no radio data.

I'm rooting for Levitating to re-enter so it can be among the songs that managed to break the 52 week Hot 100 recurrent rule.

22 No. 22 Hot 100 Hits for ’22: Selena Gomez’s ‘Love You Like a Love Song’ & More The biggest songs that have peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100.
BY GARY TRUST
Following similar prior recaps, the list for ’22 below includes pop, rock, R&B classics and more, all of which reached No. 22 highs on the weekly Hot 100.
Happy new year! … with a look at hits from older years.
Happy New Year: Kacey Musgraves, Normani, Christina Aguilera & More Look Forward to 2022 22 No. 22 Hits for ’22
Rank, Title, Artist, Peak Year 1, “Love You Like a Love Song,” Selena Gomez & The Scene, 2012 2, “Tough All Over,” John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band, 1985 3, “Pamela,” Toto, 1988 4, “Shower the People,” James Taylor, 1976 5, “Love Walks In,” Van Halen, 1986 6, “Lonely Weekends,” Charlie Rich, 1960 7, “But It’s Alright,” J.J. Jackson, 1966 8, “Wiggle Wobble,” Les Cooper and the Soul Rockers, 1963 9, “Dead Giveaway,” Shalamar, 1983 10, “My Girl (Gone, Gone, Gone),” Chilliwack, 1981 11, “Can I Get a Witness,” Marvin Gaye, 1963 12, “For the Love of You (Part 1&2),” The Isley Brothers, 1975 13, “Nutbush City Limits,” Ike & Tina Turner, 1973 14, “Sunset Grill,” Don Henley, 1985 15, “Tie Me Down,” New Boyz feat. Ray J, 2010 16, “Live for Loving You,” Gloria Estefan, 1991 17, “God Gave Me You,” Blake Shelton, 2011 18, “State of the Heart,” Rick Springfield, 1985 19, “Stand by Me,” Mickey Gilley, 1980 20, “Modern Day Delilah,” Van Stephenson, 1984 21, “How Can I Tell Her,” Lobo, 1973 22, “She’s a Bad Mama Jama,” Carl Carlton, 1981
Topping the tally, Selena Gomez & the Scene’s “Love You Like a Love Song” reached No. 22 on the Hot 100 in March 2012. With 38 weeks on the survey overall, it’s her longest-charting hit. It also rose to No. 6 on the Pop Airplay chart, marking the first of Gomez’s 11 top 10s on the ranking; she most recently reached the region in January 2020 with the No. 2-peaking “Lose You to Love Me,” which also became her first Hot 100 No. 1.
“It’s a transitional stage. I’m figuring out what I have to do,” Gomez mused for a 2011 Billboard cover story, timed to the release of “Love You Like a Love Song” parent album When the Sun Goes Down. The following January, Gomez wrapped her four-season run on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place.
“It’s obviously an important phase in my career, and personally,” said Gomez, who made her chart debut in 2008. “The good news is I have been juggling acting and singing for two-and-a-half to three years. But I have to start over in some areas. It’s interesting to start taking risks, to grow up through my music.”
Billboard‘s 22 No. 22 Hits for ’22 recap is based on actual performance on the weekly Hot 100 chart. Songs are ranked based on an inverse point system, with weeks at No. 1 earning the greatest value. Due to changes in chart methodology over the years, eras are weighted to account for different chart turnover rates over various periods.

If I remember correctly Memory I Don't Mess With left Hot 100 at 19 weeks on chart. Feels like possible to re-enter and get the final week on chart this week.

By the looks of it, the predictor expects more severe airplay drops for the holiday tracks, percentage-wise, than the comparable tracking week (Dec. 24-30) from a few years back. We will see.

Unlike the list of #20’s and #21’s, most on the list of #22’s are totally forgettable. The only ones I remember are Love You Like a Love Song, Shower the People, and For the Love of You.

While I agree that AIWFCIY didn't help Don't Forget About Us, and that it was most likely the previous success of the Mimi era and the quality of the song itself, a slight correction, the release of the digital single actually came out in mid-December, a few weeks after the re-release of Mimi (actually they made it available briefly for a couple days the week the album came out, but retracted it for some reason, probably because they saw it wouldn't help the song go #1 yet and they didn't want it to also cannabalize the opening week sales of the re-release). If anything I'd say DFAU/the Mimi era helped AIWFCIY that year, as the latter also reached #1 on the Digital Sales chart right before or after DFAU did I believe. I mean 90%+ of TEOM’s total sales by the time DFAU was released on iTunes were from the standard version… that did not include DFAU. Vast majority of those buyers were not going to spend $15~ on buying the album again for 3 new songs, rather than wait 2 weeks for buying the new single on iTunes. But yes, I suppose they could have. Basically we both agree that the success of DFAU wasn't due to AIWFCIY, so I don't really need to continue much further, but I thought it interesting to point out that TEOM's sales were actually around 3.7 million before the re-release and then sold about 2 million after (it shot back into the top ten and had some of its highest sales weeks during the Holiday season of 2005), so apparently quite a few people were driven to buy the new version with just 3 new songs (I was one of them actually!), though most of them probably didn't already have the original and were driven to buy the new version because they also liked WBT and Shake It Off in addition to DFAU, which follows the general sales pattern for any album - the more and more hit singles it produces that someone likes, the more likely they are to buy it.

My all time favorite Selena Gomez song. A true classic from a decade past At first I was wondering how they could have left out "Dreaming of You" by the other Selena from a list of the greatest #22-peaking songs!! But then I realized of course it's by chart points, so it didn't quite make it in that regard, but it should definitely be given an honorable mention!

I think TEOM would have rebounded anyway due to the holidays; that was a pattern for Mariah throughout her career (see Music Box and Daydream going to #1 during the holidays, but even Rainbow re-entering the top 10 during the holidays) and of course at the time was a pattern for big albums as people would get them as Christmas gifts. Obviously the re-release helped, no denying, but part of the reason TEOM had even fallen out of the top 10 was that the current single wasn't on the album so there wasn't active promotion for the album in that sense.

Oh you mean like when I asked how I could better phrase something? (Lol you were being condescending toward me in your post, so you have no leg to stand on.) Imagine Taylor Swift giving away 7 or 8 of her biggest hits to other artists and being credited as a featured artist on only some of them. Yes, they still count as hits for her for the songs she's featured on but she doesn't get most of the chart points for the songs on the Hot 100 and so she'd rank lower on Billboard's GOAT list. The millions of units the songs move wouldn't count towards her RIAA singles tally. The streams the songs pull won't count towards her tally on Spotify either. Giving songs away is something Drake has always done so they might not register as mistakes or miscalculations to him but it doesn't mean they aren't. Going Bad, Yes Indeed, Look Alive and No Guidance are massive hits that could have all been on Scorpion. Him not doing enough to push/promote his songs is also another way he handicaps himself but that's for another day. If anything, it just speaks to how strong of a hitmaker he is that he's given that many hits away and still has a lot more hits as a lead artist but as a fan, it's frustrating to see how many more #1/top 10 hits he'd have if he only just pushed certain songs more or how many more hits he'd have if he didn't give so many of them away. He already has over 100 Billboard hits and was the Billboard Artist of the Decade. Being frustrated about some trivial technicalities is kinda silly in Drake's case. you know it’s a slow week when we have essays and back-and-forths about Drake’s catalog and songwriting credits 🤦🏽 never change, pulsemusic dot proboards dot com. I'm sure JukeboxJacob will be here any minute to point out the condescension. No need to single me out when a large portion of posters here are snarky.

I found an old thread in the Holiday section that had the top holiday songs in 2008. The chart was based solely on airplay: Hot Holiday Songs Issue Date: 2008-12-06 This Week Last Week Two Weeks Ago Weeks Title, Artist Peak 1 1 1 43 Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree, Brenda Lee 1 (4) 2 5 6 45 It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year, Andy Williams 2 (7) 3 2 3 42 The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You), Nat King Cole 1 (6) 4 4 2 45 A Holly Jolly Christmas, Burl Ives 1 (5) 5 6 5 42 It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas, Johnny Mathis 5 (11) 6 3 4 42 All I Want For Christmas Is You, Mariah Carey 2 (1) 7 7 10 34 Jingle Bell Rock, Daryl Hall John Oates 7 (29) 8 9 16 42 Happy Xmas (War Is Over), John Lennon & Yoko Ono 2 (16) 9 10 8 25 O Holy Night, Josh Groban 4 (x) 10 8 7 42 White Christmas, Bing Crosby 1 (23) 11 11 12 39 Feliz Navidad, Jose Feliciano 2 (2) 12 12 9 42 Jingle Bell Rock, Bobby Helms 1 (3) 13 13 14 43 Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, Gene Autry 3 (22) 14 15 11 16 Sleigh Ride, Leroy Anderson 8 (20) 15 14 13 8 Winter Wonderland, Amy Grant 7 (41) Since holiday songs will still chart on the chart date in this thread, I thought it was relevant/interesting. The number in parentheses at the end is their Holiday Airplay position on the most current chart (1/1/22). Related to the discussion about Josh Groban's album, his "OHN" had a huge drop here. HolidayGuy:ETA: That tells me the 2009 holiday chart I posted here was also based solely on airplay as the top 10 is very similar (that Hall & Oates version of "JBR" used to be really solidly played). I wonder why they didn't include digital sales.

Is that poster mad because Mariah isn't #1 again this week? It's getting weird in here.
Oh, and he specifically admitted to being condescending just to get a rise out of y'all. Ki.
