I think that it's now time that we all just forgive Morgan Wallen for using the N Word, He appears to have now actually learned his lesson. Cancel Culture can sometimes completely escalate certain instances where Music Artists such as Morgan Wallen behaved badly, At first I was shocked when I heard him use the N Word, And in fact I even wanted him to be cancelled over what he had said. It literally took 10 months after that Video was released for me to have actually ended up forgiving MG over that incident.

He appears to have now actually learned his lesson. What is this statement based on? From someone who also has yet to learn any lessons, absolutely nothing.

He appears to have now actually learned his lesson. What is this statement based on? This statement is based on the fact that Morgan Wallen has gone to rehab to consult with professionals. And also do to the simple fact that he of course collaborated with Lil Durk on "Broadway Girls". He has repeatedly shown remorse over what he had said, And I do believe that he will never be saying the N Word again.

Methinks you need to do some reading on what racism is/means. (Hint, having Black people over for dinner doesn't mean someone isn't racist. Additionally, not saying the N word doesn't mean someone isn't racist.)

Anyone having difficulty getting to the board? My internet provider keeps giving me a warning message and then won’t load the site. I can only visit when I turn my wifi off.

I know Drem is on vacay, but someone usually posts some Spotify numbers, or did I miss them somewhere?

I know Drem is on vacay, but someone usually posts some Spotify numbers, or did I miss them somewhere? No one posted them but here's a synopsis - Industry Baby is at 1 with 883,949 streams which is up a bit from yesterday
- Only 4 songs have at least 800,000 streams, Industry Baby, Heat Waves, We Don't Talk About Bruno and Stay
- Nothing really changed in the top 10 other than We Don't Talk About Bruno overtook Stay as the third most streamed song and Super Gremlin overtook ABCDEFU as the 5th most streamed song on Spotify.
- Only a handful of songs lost today, the notable ones being Broadway Girls and Easy on Me (the latter only lost by 21)
Overall not really much to talk about but here's the top 10
1 = Lil Nas X - INDUSTRY BABY - 883,949 - +8,482 2 = Glass Animals - Heat Waves 848,150 - +15,708 3 +1 Carolina Gaitán - La Gaita - We Don't Talk About Bruno - 844,785 - +53,418 4 -1 The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber - Stay 834,686 - +15,035 5. Kodak Black - Super Gremlin - 769,799 - +27,285 6 -1 GAYLE - abcdefu - 761,922 - +12,390 7 = Adele - Easy On Me - 729,973 - -21 8 = Lil Durk - Broadway Girls 658,757 - -8,634 9 = Imagine Dragons - Enemy - 624,731 - +8,996 10 = Olivia Rodrigo - good 4 u - 621,595 - +12,099

FWIW, even with the majority of this past tracking week not falling during the Christmas season, seasonal songs still dominated the UK and Australia charts that were released today, with the entire top 3 (and more than half the top 10) on ARIA and the entire top 13(!) in the UK being Christmas songs. So I wouldn't be surprised if AIWFCIY still manages to stay at #1 on the US Hot 100 this week.
Also, abcdefu is the only non-Christmas song in the entire UK top 20; barring anything crazy happening with the ACR reset, it's going to be a UK #1 hit come next week, so that's something.

Look, I'm not here to tell you whether or not to forgive someone for being racist. I don't excuse, nor will I ever excuse, any racist behavior. With that said, I am a big Morgan Wallen fan and while I stopped listening to his music for a bit, I slowly came back to listening to his album. I do not agree with Clode 's statement that "he appears to have now actually learned his lesson." I do not think we know enough about his character, and his changes in life, to state one way or another. Clearly a song with Lil Durk means nothing. But, in response to your tweet, Morgan did make good on his $500,000 pledge. So, let's actually have accurate facts. www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/music/2021/09/22/morgan-wallen-kept-his-pledge-donate-money-black-serving-groups/5788855001/

Random question: Do you think ''Don't forget about us'' benifited because of the pupularity of AIWFCIY?

Random question: Do you think ''Don't forget about us'' benifited because of the pupularity of AIWFCIY? No. I think it benefited from the fact that Mariah was the biggest artist of 2005 and benefited from the momentum of TEOM. Also, it’s a pretty good song in its own right.

Random question: Do you think ''Don't forget about us'' benifited because of the pupularity of AIWFCIY? No, AIWFCIY had nothing to do with it going #1. Hot 100 was like 80% airplay driven at that point. It reached #1 on radio because it was directly following two #1 radio hits (We Belong Together/Shake It Off). Going #1 on radio at that point in time basically guaranteed you top 2/3 any week. They also withheld the digital single until it got high on radio as was common practice then, and boom, it easily went #1. It also helps that it was a re-release single, so nobody who had bought the album prior had the song. Thus even fans who already owned the album were likely to buy the digital single for it and add to their collection.

Also is it me or “Don’t Forget About Us” for sure sounds exactly like “Lovers & Friends” when I go back and listen to it lol.
There’s actually so many hits from that period of mid 2000s that borderline plagiarized another hit.
Yeah! & Freek-A-Leek Lovers and Friends & Don’t Forget About Us We Belong Together & Be Without You 1 Thing & Get Right

Regarding Morgan Wallen, i'm not a POC so i don't have a say in this. It's not my place to "forgive" him. But we can all assume his fanbase is consisted of racist people since his sales increased after the incident.

Yeah! & Freek-A-Leek Lovers and Friends & Don’t Forget About Us We Belong Together & Be Without You 1 Thing & Get Right Can someone 'plagiarize' their own work? All of those involve the same people. Lil Jon worked on "Yeah" and "Freek-A-Leek." Rich Harrison co-wrote and produced both "1 Thing" and "Get Right." Johnta Austin worked on "We Belong Together" and has said he was asked to do something similar for Mary J with "Be Without You."

"Easy On Me" will likely gain 4-5 million audience tomorrow due to Christmas rolling effect. I think it has a good chance of peaking in the 120-125 million audience range. When was the last time a song did over 120 million audience on mediabase?

Of course if they plagiarized it literally there would have been lawsuits. A songwriter/producer bringing the same melody they worked on with one team of people to another team of people for another separate song is obviously looked down upon though and isn’t something that would be encouraged.

The difference is those other charts don't include airplay. The U.S. Hot 100 would be dominated by holiday music except airplay is still a huge part of the Hot 100, so "Easy on Me" will be #1 even though it may not even be top 10 in streaming.

When was the last time a song did over 120 million audience on mediabase? Go Crazy was the last to do so on kWorb, but that was before the 4/24/2021 recalibration. I think Blinding Lights was the last to reach 120M on Mediabase/Billboard.

So, both "Oh My God" and "Message in a Bottle" are top 18 at Top 40 radio but not even top 50 on U.S. Spotify? I was told to wait and see with "OMG" in particular once holiday music dropped off.
