Like I said a little bit ago, I am surprised that Luke Combs was able to get anything up this high in this rankdown considering how stale most of us think he has gotten lately... That being said, I can understand it with "When It Rains It Pours", as that is one of his most unique and popular songs. However, I am just plain SHOCKED that "Even Though I'm Leaving" managed to not only do this well, but also to beat WIRIP so handily!!! ETIL is just the best version of all the samey songs that he has been putting out lately, so in my mind I figured this would easily suffer from our recent Luke Fatigue... But I guess not!!

I have never been the biggest fan of "Mama's Broken Heart". I often struggle with Miranda when she makes songs as quirky as possible just for the sake of doing so, and this is one of the biggest examples of that. Like, if you just listen to everything that is going on in the chorus, it is just very intentionally designed to sound as cacophonous as possible, lol. It has grown on me at least a liiiiiiittle bit through the years though (which is why it made it as high as 87 on my list instead of being an obvious last place)

"Rainbow" is such a beautiful song, and based on the way some of the non-country fans talk about it, it is probably no surprise that it would end up getting 3 #1 ranks, which I believe is the most we've seen of any song so far!! Ironically, Fire loses his #1 right after his #100, with them tying with each other, and his #1 winning the tie because of its #1 ranks!

this was easily gonna be my #1. like, no contest.
i adore this song so much - it's something that's helped me out immensely in low moments/calmed me down when angry or stressed, everything is just so soothing to me, it feels like a 3-min long hug that's there whenever i need it
man, i was so rooting for it to make the top 10 </3

The final two spots before the top 20 came down to a battle between the #1 and #2 of the 2019 rankdown! How neat! Unlike "Rainbow" which started out as a top 10 contender and then gradually fell out of the top 20, "What If I Never Get Over You" managed to be a climber, starting out more in the 60s but climbing steadily to be right on the cusp of making the top 20.

That's right, I'm still going!!! Kacey Musgraves loses another to kick off the top 20, this one also taking away 3 #1s with it, much to the chagrin of recordyear, fearlessarrow, and zaclord 🌈. The biggest strength of "Merry Go 'Round" is its lyrics! That song can paint some wonderful pictures, without a doubt!! I have always found the melody to be a tad on the boring side, but I do love the lyricism of lines like "just like dust we settle on this town" :)

I think we can all be a little dead at the fact that our runner up from 2010 is finally leaving......71 positions after the winner ("The Truth") left us at #90 I think it's probably safe to say that "White Liar" deserved to win that rankdown more!

I certainly didn't mean to eliminate the most deserving song of all just as we are in top 20 🙄 Unfortunately your 2nd-most-deserving song bows out next :'( "Record Year" was a super strong contender here though, managing to hang onto the top 10 for the majority of the rankdown, before some of the lower ranks caught up to it in the final stretch! I was really glad to see this one do so well, as it is definitely one of my favorite Eric Church songs. That melody is great, and I still geek out over that vibrating bass sound coming into the 2nd chorus
