There was also several songs finished for NOW that were either re-recorded or left on the floor when she changed producers. Point is, we don't know how far along she actually was and what she may or may not have done with the material she said she was working on a few years ago.

Also, as a long-time Shania fan, I usually take her word about new music to mean little. So, just because she said she had been in the studio, who knows what that actually meant. Based on what she's said in the past, by now, other artists should be recording songs she's written; that hasn't happened yet, either.

i know at least 15 songs were properly mixed and all of those were scrapped (though some of the songs remain on the new album, but they were completely reworked)

She said this a few times during the press run for UP!. If the old Shania message boards were still up and going, I'm sure I could find the link. The other thing is that YouTube didn't exist in 2002-2003! Crazy! But, yeah, her Christmas album was a mix of classics and new songs she and Mutt had written, and "Ka-Ching!" was one of them. The album was supposed to come out in 2001, but then 9/11 happened, she got severely depressed, thought about quitting, but then realized that her son/the world would need people to be positive, so she recorded UP!. There's the story!

I was a member of those Shania boards too. I could totally be wrong but I always remembered the story as Ka-Ching STARTED out as a Christmas song about commercialism etc but kind of morphed into what it ended up being. I really don't think the song as it is now resembles Christmas at all. But I could be totally wrong - but that is at least how I remembered it.

I enjoyed the performance with Harry. So cute to see Harry love her and do his little dance/jump around. ♥️

Her voice sounds pretty good during the MIFLAW performance.

I don't know how much was pre-recorded versus what was actually live. The parts where she sings the title of the song were definitely live because of the raspiness but then other parts sounded almost too clean. Regardless, I am glad she hasn't let her vocal issues slow her down (although 'Now' was five years ago so come on Shania lol)

Netflix’s “Worth the Wait” section shows an upcoming Shania documentary called “Shania Twain: Not Just a Girl.” The film is directed by Joss Crowley. There is a 30 second clip of new interview footage where Shania talks about the release of “You’re Still the One.”

I don't know, I find it kind of odd that she would release a compilation, a new album and possibly also the Diamond Edition of 'Come on Over' all in one year. Seems rather ambitious but who knows.
