Che'Nelle ft. Cham - "I Fell In Love With The DJ" (2007)

She's a Malaysian/Australian singer of Chinese, Indian, and Dutch background. I am so sorry that I didn't discover her back then. I didn't know about her til I came across her Wiki page some time ago. Listening to her debut album "Things Happen For A Reason", I realized that this girl CAN sing. I enjoyed all the tracks so far. Her debut reminds me of Rihanna's first two eras. I don't think Che'Nelle's background would be out of place in the Caribbean as there are plenty of Chinese and Indian Caribbeans out there. All my life I've been surrounded by them. Going back to Che'Nelle, this single should have smashed on the U.S., but unfortunately, as with her and other Asian crossover artists, American audiences just weren't that receptive. It only peaked at #98 on Pop 100, but performed a bit higher on the European charts.
