Chicken Noodle Soup with a soda on the side? Yes, that's the only one I know.

I know most of its points had to be fueled by digital sales, airplay points proably were low

Speaking of Complete My Album, I'll never forget the week that DEV's "In the Dark" was predicted to finally hit the top 10 on Hot 100 (due to Kelly Clarkson's "Mr. Know It All" being affected by Complete My Album), but the Complete My Album effect wasn't as big as expected. Robbed

2009 was one of my favorite year in music. Also because the USPOP 2009 mashup was DJ Earworm's best work ever.

Wait it's super interesting that Boom Boom Pow's 12 weeks at #1 were bigger than I Gotta Feeling's 14 weeks at #1 wow In retrospect it might be, but not at the time, because BBP was the lead single and came before IGAF, and was a bonafide success in its own right. I guess IGAF just went on to be a bigger hit due to slightly better longevity, which overcame its lower point totals at #1 due to luck and weaker competition at the time.

Idk if Ihype plans on continuing doing 2010...but I have the accurate sales and airplay numbers for tik tok's first 7 weeks at number one...the last two weeks are kind of estimations I used from mediabase numbers (at this time the top song was like 1-2million off from BDS)

Guys, I apologize in advanced my editing software messed on me. The way I originally uploaded it...it came out blurry. I apologize for the white spaces. With that being said...I used Mediabase numbers for the weeks I could not find BDS numbers. The mediabase numbers are not to far from the BDS numbers (1-4M generally). Also, at the beginning of the year mediabase numbers were higher than BDS, and it flipped by the end of the year. The numbers should not be to far off like last time. My mistake was that I did not know that BB is usually out 1-2 weeks in advanced. If you guys have any questions let me know. This can be seen as a predictions type of data chart. I wanted to give y'all some idea of the breakdowns of the year. I thank iHype. for his hard work on these breakdowns and his other projects. Again. try to view this as a predictions' type of chart. Congrats on Kesha for having the biggest/strongest of the year and Rihanna is the queen of weak #1's. She did get 4 #1's in a year which is great...Chile, Rihanna and these weak #1's....makes me wonder what would have been Madonna's weak #1 if Soundscan was out in the 80s (Who's That Girl)

^ Who's That Girl and probably also Open Your Heart. Actually, one of Rihanna's #1's, Love the Way You Lie, had some pretty big weeks (I think for some time it held the record for most weeks with sales above 300k, although all of those weeks weren't when it was #1), and although she was just featured on this Eminem track, she was nonetheless a huge draw, singing the chorus. And despite her other #1's having low points totals, it appears Like A G6 actually had the lowest week of the year, with 245 points during its third week at #1 (a paltry #7 in sales with 142k and #5 in airplay with 103M), although Only Girl in the World just the next week came close, with 251 points and similarly abysmal numbers (only #9 in sales with 131k and #2 in airplay with 120M).

Like A G6 got to #1 by sheer luck. Even reading the thread here for the week it went to #1 no one was expecting Like A G6 to go back to #1.

Like a G6 with 105M at number 5 only. How common is that during that time? To have 100+ audience impressions and be five at airplay was extremely rare. It usually would've been a #3 or #2. LAG6 happened to be stuck behind Just The Way You Are Only Girl In The World Just A Dream DJ Got Us Fallin In Love It was very rare to find 5 songs that were 100M+ in audience. Also, Super Bass went to #5 on 118M impressions on time...it was uncommon but weird

You'll notice how massive the consumption was considering the amount of sales which is crazy. 2008 to 2013 would probably the Golden era.

Can someone explain why Rihanna's label decided to release OGITW and WMN around the same time? Did they expect the lead single to flop and they released the 2nd single and then both started to gain popularity at the same time?

Did they expect the lead single to flop and they released the 2nd single and then both started to gain popularity at the same time? So OGITW and WMN weren't actually released at the same time, it was just a unique case of the 1st single sticking around long enough to reach #1 after the second single did. The former was released digitally in early September and the latter, early November (with each sent to radio a couple weeks prior). The week OGITW was released to digital, it shot from #75 to #3, while the week WMN was it went from #60 to #1, mainly due to weaker competition. After OGITW hit #3, it dropped a bit in the top 10, but gradually rose the next few weeks due to sales stabilizing and increasing airplay, and took advantage of this low competition climate to finally reach #1 after WMN and Like a G6 did (previously discussed). Interestingly, it seems OGITW even had a higher points total that first week at #3 than either its or WMN's week at #1, so it surely would have been #1 that week in a more favorable climate.

If possible iHype. do you think we could get the point breakdown for the 90s as well. I want to see the sales/impressions of Mariah's #1 hits, TBIM, Un-Break My Heart etc...
