I don’t think Ghost or TWIW have a chance. Abcdefu is going to blow right past them, and I think it is next in line for the radio #1 if Heat Waves can’t hold on long enough.

At least one of them does: Two Oruguitas is combined with Dos Oruguitas for chart purposes. Hot Latin doesn’t count it as usual, so while the combined entry is ahead of Pepas (as the latter is behind the new songs on Hot 100 Recurrents), it’s behind on the Hot Latin chart when it can only count its Spanish version.

If 'WAP' had a ceiling on radio, it's because the song couldn't/wouldn't get away at pop radio. That limited its options to Rhythmic and Urban.

Gayle has Pop, Hot AC and Alternative eating out of the palm of her hand right now (with a bit of Rhythmic as well for a little augmentation). Her ceiling is about as big as any other multi-format hit, which is to say 100. mill+ potential if it can line up peaks at all these formats.

I think some of y’all are trippin about EOM. I agree that the radio is making it a ‘bigger hit’ than it should be but its still top 15 on all metrics so people are still actively listening to it and even buying it on iTunes. I think it would still be in the top 5 at best if the radio didn’t have a huge advantage out of all its metrics and i’m sure people are still having some interest in the song and it still has great callout scores so i can still see why some stations prefer it and make it one of their priority songs.

I don’t think so. The radio edit just changes all the f words to Forget you. They did the same thing with the CeeLo Green song back in 2011 and that still got to number one on pop radio.

Now, it could still fall quickly, but I don’t think it would be the same case as with WAP. WAP is a much more explicit song, so the radio edit couldn’t really do much to hide that.

Yeah, because that and "Colombia, Mi Encanto" are songs that are not performed on the movie, while the others are addapted to the language (French, Spanish, English, Italian, etc..)

The only thing I would say, it does look like Ghost and TWIW have some pretty strong callouts (Ghost is #1 and TWIW is #3 out of songs that are still growing on Pop). Abcdefu is growing fast, but I think it's going to gradually start losing momentum as it hits the top 10. We also have no idea how audiences are reacting to it yet - all we know is the (fairly polarized) internet reactions. Hard to say right now if it's popular enough to keep up this growth for another month or 2.

Ehhh that may be true but teen girls aren't really the target radio demographic. How will it be received by the 30+ crowd? 

Then again, if it's already made it this far, maybe it is more popular than I give it credit for.
