I am not surprised that my #1 didn't make it that high. Just like when I participated in Aero's Dynamite Rankdown, I am following a personal rule not to give my #1 to a song that's already in my personal playlists on Spotify, and that song ended up winning his rankdown while my #1 didn't make it to the top 20 in the reveals. While I am not listening to a whole lot of rock music nowadays, I do have a soft spot for certain kinds of rock music from the 60s-70s, and that includes Arthur Brown. Edit: Portishead is one artist I changed my views on (more favorably) since Aero's Dynamite Rankdown.

Now since I listened to Mort Garson's album, I have a new favorite space age pop musician.

Now that I’ve *really* looked through the results, I’m definitely happy with this top ten. I do wish though that Plantasia made the top ten though. I gotta say I’ve returned to it quite a bit after ranking this list, it’s so comforting.
Both Portishead and Black Country, New Road are artists that seem to be loved by people here that I just can’t fully get into. I would love for their music to click with me, but I just usually can’t (though I will say TPWHITB from BCNR’s new album just debuted on my personal chart, that song is really great)

#34. Tom Tom Club Surprised this ended up so low. Must be something about the lyrics with you guys. #33. Blind Willie Johnson I can understand why someone would feel some sort of emotional connection with a song like this, but I can also understand why an "icy motherfucker" wouldn't. #31. Lemon Demon - Touch-Tone Telephone Perfect slice of quirky like 80's like New Wave. One of my favorite songs to pimp off another member's weekly charts. O.K. where the F U C K is wheatsquares33 when you need him? I charted this song because of his chart. #30.Black Mountain - Future Shade One of my favorite discoveries on this chart. This some mean ass Psychedelic Rock n Roll. The chick on backups added even more atmosphere to the already tasty Psych vibe. #29. Hawkwind - Silver Machine Recognized Lemmy's vocals on the spot. I dug this one more than half of Motörhead's discography. #27. Charli XCX - Visions I usually can dig some Charli XCX, but I hate it when they F U C K with vocals this way. #24. Everything Everything - Desire My favorite song from this band. Another one I charted and ripped off another fellow member's chart. Sorry I forget who, but maybe it was you? #20. TR/ST - Rescue, Mister Little of Depeche Mode style electronica riding on Italo Disco melodies. Easy top 20. #18. Olivia Newton-John - Magic This was destined to be my #1 song for it's magical fairytale melody. A perfect Pop song in my book sang by an immaculate beauty with pop's most perfect vocals ever. Sorry Demi , but it is true. #16. Rodrigo y Gabriela - Mettavolution This is another song I recall when we did that AAA RD for that year. Pure Guitar fire from start to finish. #15. Mort Garson - Plantasia This plant music "Banger" didn't do it for me. All That Earth music soothing stuff does everything but sooth me. When I go to get my facials and massages I take my own playlist for them to play. #11. The Beach Boys - Forever The only reason I like this song is because I remember John Stamos singing it on Full and Fuller House. Another one of my 80's idols. You know why he still looks that good at 58? because he is also a Leo. Well I lost my #1 song, but funny enough most of my remaining top 10's are Pop fire, so I did way better than I ever imagined I would.

Most of you know how these top ten previews will work. For those who don't, I will be posting three stats along with a fact that may or may not only interest me. Got it? If you don't, you'll see what I mean below.
#10 PREVIEW
Highest Ranking Lost: #2 Movements Spent in Top Ten: 9 Top Tens: 8
We have two remaining high standard deviations, and #10 has one of them.

ABBA? i normally wouldn't guess they would have a high SD, but with this participant list they could have a decent number of low ranks

This finished #38 in a late-90s Alt rankdown. That was more fitting than a top 10 in a loaded personal rankdown imo

Really surprised both city pop songs made the top 10. One is clearly superior to the other one and the weaker one should have been left already. Looks like we agreed

I retract whatever statement I made a few years ago saying I did not especially care for this band - I had simply not explored their discography enough. This is amazing and combines some of the best influences of the 80s together into a beautiful piece of art

"Pulsewidth" has the highest SD in the top five, but this wasn't far off.

#5. Aphex Twin - Pulsewidth I'm not really down with instrumentals unless they are guitar driven. There are a few Hi-NRG and Italo Disco ones I can listen to with earphones, but this one just sounded like a bunch of clubby noize to me.
