After first being an English one hit wonder and then becoming a global superstar in reggaeton, Becky G finally has her second top 40 hit and hopefully her biggest hit Bichota and Mayores deserved too!

Heat Waves will probably finish with like 160 weeks, after its post-holiday run in early 2024.

Does "That's What I Want" break any kind of record for longest departure from the top ten (outside of Christmas songs)? Or at least longest gap for a song in a single chart run? Looks like it was out of the top ten for 20 weeks before returning. "Rolling In The Deep" had a 27 week gap between returning to top 10. "Shallow" had an 18 week gap between returning to top 10. "Take Care" had a 15 week gap between returning to top 10. "Heartless" had a 15 week gap between returning to top 10. "Going Bad" had a 14 week gap between returning to top 10.

Known chart placements outside of top 10 so far: 23. Still D.R.E it's a low peak for a classic like this, but still better than #93. Funny how it matched the peak of "The Next Episode".

(D)HM to the predictor that had this debuting at #18: The sales filtering is working! 😁

Cold Heart is #1 for an 8th week on Canadaian Hot 100.
Don't think there's ever been a song that went #1 that long in Canada and didn't reach top 5 on Hot 100.
Likewise, Truth Hurts & Whatever You Like spent 7 weeks #1 on Hot 100 but never reached top 5 on Canadian Hot 100.

Ghost and TWIW making the top 10 feels muted but more than well deserved as i think they’re both the best songs by default on both of their respectable albums. They both are strong contenders for my best hit songs of 2022 despite me jamming to them all last year.

Kiss Me More is officially gone, marking the first of Doja's singles from Planet Her to go recurrent for good, and will likely just miss the 2022 YE. (If anyone cares, Essence has survived)

I'd say the last several weeks deserve an asterisk, as Levitating and SYT were brought back to the charts. If they stayed recurrent, BL would not be anywhere near 20 weeks at the top of this chart. To be perfectly honest, I'm kind of getting sick and tired of BL being #1 on this chart and I want Levitating or SYT to join this chart really soon.

Essense is probably close to locked at this point, and would almost certainly be locked next week if it survives.

It's passed my anticipated cutoff of 150K assuming the predictions panned out, though I think it needs maybe one more week just to be super-safe.

^ So "Essence" is like in the margin of error zone if it doesn't survive next week. But assuming that the 03-05 chart week is where the Super Bowl songs drop off and "Essence" survives, it will secure it's YE spot (my guess is within the Bottom 15 range)

Stay Alive (BOTW): absolutely the best of the week, no question, and one of the best things BTS has put out in awhile, fun, melodramatic, powerful and catchy hook, it's the stuff I wished crossed over in their English material more
Bussin (HM): definitely better than DWHAP, harder and harsher production and flows, Baby and Nicki have chemistry this time,
Good Morning Gorgeous: it's far from Mary's best ever work but she's still a good soulful singer, I like the lyrics of self empowerment
MAMIII: It's what you'd expect from a reaggaeton song by Karol G and Becky G
Worst Day: above average Future song, like there's a tighter flow and storytelling, even if it's a basic heartbroken love story
Closer: It's Say So but Saweetie and H.E.R. instead of Doja and if you want more Say So, you'll like this but since I still don't care for Say So, I don't care for a pale facsimile
The Joker And The Queen: how is it Ed and Taylor had more chemistry on End Game?
City of Gods (DHM): just a mess. The ripped hook that doesn't work the the content of the verses and sounds really out of place against the drill instrumental, Kanye's flow feels really wonky, no one has any good interplay with each other. Everything just feels like none of these parts were made for one song
Boyfriend (WOTW): I feel really bad dunking on this since it's her first song away from Disney (minus Taste of You) but this just feels very generic with the fake horns and swing melody, Dove doing her best Billie impression when it's not needed she's a good singer why chase trends, and it's just not sexy or even that sensual.

Also both Chosen and One Mississippi pass 20 weeks on the charts but survive thanks to gains on radio. It reached #1 in Country Streaming Songs for the first time (#31 on all-genre Streaming Songs chart). Judging from Hot Country Songs chart, 'Til You Can't looks like the biggest streaming gainer.

On the Streaming Songs chart, WDTAB remains at #1 for a 7th week on that chart. It already has more weeks at #1 on that chart than both Stay (6) and Easy On Me (5). Also, Sunflower charts at #49 on Streaming Songs, to extend its record to 124 weeks on that chart.

No surprise that Do We Have a Problem? set a new non-holiday song record drop from #2 in the Hot 100. I do not agree with the text on this tweet but the image is, as far as I can remember accurate. I was watching a Katy Perry analysis on Youtube just yesterday that pointed out that after the general public and radio moves on most of these superstars rely on that crucial first week peak (Most of Katy songs have peaked on debut since Chained to the Rhythm). I think at this point Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga are all on the same boat, to varying degrees (Taylor still hits #1, Gaga did so as well with a high profile collab, meanwhile Katy is fighting to stay in the 90s on the Hot 100).

After first being an English one hit wonder and then becoming a global superstar in reggaeton, Becky G finally has her second top 40 hit and hopefully her biggest hit THAT was really exciting to see, especially considering that last hit was in 2014.
Love seeing people beat the odds to get a second top 40. Vince Guaraldi Trio did that last year with the nearly 60-year gap between their first and second top 40 hits.
