Kendrick made a colossal STUPID mistake by not taking advantage of this and dropping or debuting new music . Unforgivable As we said earlier, only two acts have ever debuted new music at the Superbowl so if we're mad at Kendrick, we should be mad at most past performers as well.

And also Kendrick's been on the verge of releasing new music for YEARS now. It'll smash when it comes out, regardless of it's performed on the Superbowl or not Again, why complain about missed opportunities rather than celebrate this was an incredible Superbowl performance?

However non of them were on the verge of releasing new material that could have benefited from the exposureThis is a good point, and it's interesting with Superbowl performers, because many of them who have fallen into this category have strangely, time and time again, failed to take advantage of this opportunity to perform new or recently released music. The argument that, at least for years with multiple acts performing, that any one artist releasing a new song could get lost in the shuffle makes sense, but something else that has been brought up, that the NFL might actually have strict control and say on what is performed, i.e. all of the artists' well-known songs and hits that everyone knows the most, makes the most sense.

I was told BeyoncΓ© performed a new song at the halftime, Formation , so why not Kendrick?

Me, Rainygirl, Degen, Phieagles, Jenglisbe, and Leonawagon are actually in a constant competition to be Pulse's most disliked member.
Anyway, imagine Kendrick dropping the super anticipated album... then not having enough time to perform one of the new songs, because artists are expected to perform their older, more well known songs. Would've been kinda awkward. Plus like others said, now he's got the momentum of being in the public eye again, ON TOP OF the hype that's already there. Even better conditions to drop!

Given the strict time slots of halftime performances (again, the NFL will not allow any performances to go overlong), the best we could've hoped for was another untitled verse like the 2016 Grammys or on a few talk show performances but the difference there was that Kendrick was the sole performer, and not having to share the spotlight with 6 other artists

Damn guys Snoop Diggity Dogg didn't drop a single before the Superbowl. Bro made the biggest mistake if his career. He could've gone number one easily smh. 10/10 disappointed. π The irony is that he didnβt drop a single, but a whole album just this Friday π.

Rise clone of Kiss Me More! Too bad its doing poorly elsewhere, even for Saweetie standards I hope itβs a grower on the chart . Itβs quite enjoyable Heard it the first time yesterday and I liked it and sounds like a summer song.

Kendrick's song was the only one I'd never heard before, so I lowkey thought it WAS a new release. (Apparently it's like his signature song though? My bad) Was 90% sure he'd do "Humble." But he put on an amazing show, same as everyone. 50 was a nice surprise. Really disappointed that "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang" didn't get more love - literally the biggest Dre/Dogg song.

The highest Superbowl performer on Spotify is Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg with Still D.R.E. at #43.

Surprised you don't know about m.A.A.D. city, and yes it is Kendrick's signature song despite it never being a single ever. I'm kinda glad HUMBLE wasn't performed and Alright and maad City were performed instead Also trivia: I mentioned m.A.A.d. city being Kendrick's signature but what's funnier is that it's not even the most popular song from GKMC. That's Money Trees, also another song that was never a single. He's the GOAT for a reason

Before DAMN., Kendrick's biggest "mainstream" hit is debatably Swimming Pools. Alright, Money Trees, and Don't Kill My Vibe came close as his biggest. m.A.A.d City is quite popular too.
