Bomsori and Rafał Blechacz – Chopin/Sarasate: Nocturne in E-flat major Op. 9 No. 2
Frederic Chopin’s irresistible lyricism made the French-Polish composer one of the most beloved and influential artists of the Romantic Age. The dreamy, timeless melody of the Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2 in E-flat Major is among his most famous.
Violinist Bomsori and pianist Rafał Blechacz are renowned poets of their instruments. In their charming and idiomatic performance of the transcription by 19th Century violin virtuoso deleted de Sarasate, each waltz-like verse shimmers with heightened counterpoint and increasingly elaborate ornamentation.
The Nocturne’s nostalgic mood transports the listener back in time with music that still moves the heart.
