1. Four songs in all were jostling for a position at the top. What song will end up as our #1?Oh goodness; there are at least a dozen songs that deserve to win this, but I'll guess either between "Blue Clear Sky", "It Matters to Me", "Time Marches On", "She Never Lets It Go to Her Heart", or "Living in a Moment"? More than likely one of the first two will come out on top. 2. What song will come in last place at #120?Okay, there were a handful of songs that I didn't really care for, including "The Change", "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye", and "'Round Here". I'd like to see Neal in last place, but given Pulse's reputation, it'll be Garth with "The Change". 3. Which songs will be in the top 5? Top 10?"Blue Clear Sky", "It Matters to Me", "Time Marches On", "Living in a Moment", "If You're Not In It for Love (I'm Outta Here!)", "She Never Lets It Go to Her Heart", "Believe Me Baby (I Lied)", "The Fear of Being Alone", "The River and the Highway" and "Daddy's Money"? 4. Which songs will be in the bottom 10?"The Change", "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye", "'Round Here", "Big Guitar", "Mama Don't Get Dressed Up for Nothing", "I Just Might Be", "Goodnight Sweetheart", "Bury the Shovel", "That Girl's Been Spying on Me", and "Ain't Got Nothin' On Us"? "Change My Mind" might end up down there, too. 5. Which songs will be least polarizing? Most?Least: "I Am That Man", "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye", "Carried Away", "Believe Me Baby (I Lied)", "The Road You Leave Behind", "By My Side", and "The River and the Highway"? Most: "You Gotta Love That", "Blue", "Cowboy Love", "Guys Do It All the Time", "Out with a Bang", "Only on Days That End in 'Y'", and "It's Midnight Cinderella"? 6. Brooks & Dunn's "My Maria" topped Billboardâs year-end country chart for 1996 as the most played song. How will it do here?I think it'll barely make the top 40. 7. Any other thoughts or predictions?Wow. This was probably one of the toughest year-end RDs, if not the toughest, I've done to date. I ended up going with a safe choice for my #1, but I do have quite a handful of riskier ranks in there, including a couple that were contenders for my #1. With that being said, I'm nearly certain that dozens of songs will get done dirty (David Lee Murphy, Bryan White, "Too Much Fun", "Learning As You Go", "Give Me Some Wheels", "Big Love", "Not That Different", "Love is Stronger Than Pride", Sammy Kershaw, etc.) and will express my opinions accordingly. Let the wild ride commence!

17 is a damn good turnout for a 120 song 90's YE. 1. Four songs in all were jostling for a position at the top. What song will end up as our #1? "Blue Clear Sky" has been such a rankdown monster, it has to be the favorite. 2. What song will come in last place at #120? "The Change" A mediocre song by an artist with guaranteed tankers; it shouldn't finish last, but it will. 3. Which songs will be in the top 5? Top 10? "Blue Clear Sky", "You Can Feel Bad", "Heads Carolina, Tails California", "The Fear Of Being Alone",& "Strawberry Wine"; maybe "No News", "I Can Still Make Cheyenne", "Poor, Poor, Pitiful Me", and one of the Faith Hill songs? 4. Which songs will be in the bottom 10? "Mama Don't Get Dressed Up for Nothing", "Bury The Shovel", "That Girls Been Spyin' On Me", "The Change", "Love Remains" "4 to 1 In Atlanta" maybe one of the Sawyer Brown songs. 5. Which songs will be least polarizing? Most? Probably something low ranked like "Bury The Shovel"; No clue, maybe "Beaches Of Cheyenne" because of the Garth haters 6. Brooks & Dunn's "My Maria" topped Billboardâs year-end country chart for 1996 as the most played song. How will it do here? It's been so overplayed through the years, I'll say top 40 at best. 7. Any other thoughts or predictions? I would love for Cody Wants Out... to be right about "Living In a Moment". Hopefully Collin Raye gets more love than he usually does (outside of "Love Remains")

1. Four songs in all were jostling for a position at the top. What song will end up as our #1? I am REALLY pulling for "Blue Clear Sky"!!!! Easily one of the most infectious melodies ever written! I can't imagine somebody hating it, even if they are usually not George Strait fans. "Strawberry Wine" is another possible contender, but will definitely have some tankers like LBTrocks . I would also bet money that "You Can Feel Bad" was one of the other #1 contenders. For the last one, hopefully "The Fear of Being Alone", although that one I'm less confident about thanks to Reba having a tendency to pick up unexpected tankers, plus that song may have a slight overplay effect still for those who were old enough to pay attention to the radio in 1996. 2. What song will come in last place at #120? If it's gonna be Garth, I'm gonna go ahead and give the prediction to "It's Midnight Cinderella" rather than "The Change". I think the latter will get a little higher thanks to the meaningful lyrics! 3. Which songs will be in the top 5? Top 10? Top 5: "Blue Clear Sky", "Strawberry Wine", "You Can Feel Bad", "The Fear of Being Alone", and....."Heads Carolina"?! The rest of the top 10: "I Can Still Make Cheyenne", "Poor, Poor Pitiful Me", "It Matters To Me", "She Never Lets It Go To Her Heart", and maybe something from Shania? "If You're Not In It For Love" would be my guess. Of course "Wild Angels" DESERVES one of those top 10 or even top 5 spots, but Lord knows it's going to finish at #11 or 12, as has been known to happen to Martina in nearly every '90s/'00s rankdown đ 4. Which songs will be in the bottom 10? "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye", "It's Midnight Cinderella", "The Change", "Mama Don't Get Dressed Up For Nothing", "Worlds Apart", "It Works" (lmao the casual sexism!), "Treat Her Right", "Ain't Got Nothing On Us", "Cowboy Love", "Vidalia". 5. Which songs will be least polarizing? Most? Least: "Blue Clear Sky", "She Never Lets It Go To Her Heart". Most: "Me And You", "Like The Rain". 6. Brooks & Dunn's "My Maria" topped Billboardâs year-end country chart for 1996 as the most played song. How will it do here? I'm going to predict that it was at least pretty close to the top 20....until the double-whammy of .indulgecountry and LBTrocks came with the last two lists and knocked it out of the top 30! 7. Any other thoughts or predictions? So excited to see how competitive this thing ends up being! There are SO MANY songs that deserve to put pressure on the top 10, like "A Thousand Times a Day", "Phones Are Ringin' All Over Town", "Time Marches On", "Carried Away", "If I Were You", "You're Not In Kansas Anymore", "Someone Else's Dream", "You Win My Love", "When Boy Meets Girl", etc., but unfortunately we are just plain going to run out of space for every song to do as well as it deserves!

Happy 4th of July, y'all! My apologies for the delay in rolling out the reveals as I needed to take a small break, but I'm ready to get the ball rolling. My goal is to have this wrapped up in about two weeks, so there's no time to waste lol. Here are a few things you can expect to see within the bottom 10: - Over 1500 points separate the last-place finisher from our winner
- One group/artist will lose both of their songs all within the bottom 10
- Another artist will lose two of their three songs in the bottom 10
- Only one participant will lose a top 20 song in the bottom 10
- Five participants will lose a top 30
And I know the big question is will Garth Brooks survive the bottom 10 or see one (or more!) songs leave, so let's find out!

Stats for #120:
The first song to exit was a clear frontrunner for last place as it pretty much held that title for the majority of its run. Four participants lose a bottom 5 including a pair who lose their last place song right out of the gate. No one loses a top 50 (yet!).

"'Round Here" was released in November 1995 as the second single from Sawyer Brown's album This Thing Called Wantin' and Havin' It All and reached number 19 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. This was our clear frontrunner for last place as it held onto that position for the majority of its run. Four participants lost a bottom 5 with both myself and Cody Wants Out... losing their last place right out of the gate. The bulk of the rankings all come from within the bottom 30 as this did not pick up a single ranking in the top half.

Stats for #119:
The second song to bow out also remained a consistent bottom 10 contender for the majority of its run. While this did manage to pick up a lone top 30, most of the group placed this well outside of their top half with three participants shedding a bottom 5.

"Bury the Shovel" was released in September 1996 as the fourth and final single from Clay Walker's album Hypnotize the Moon and was a minor Top 20 hit later that year. The song was Walker's eleventh single release, as well as his eleventh top twenty hit on the Billboard country singles charts. Once this settled back into the bottom 5 it would remain in that position for the duration of its run. It just barely managed to sneak out of the bottom 30 early on, however, thanks to a lone top 30 ranking from nathanalbright. The majority of the group, though, would rank this somewhere within their bottom 30 with three participants all shedding a bottom 5.

Stats for #118:
The next song only settled back into its lowest position of the rankdown in the final moments. In fact, for the first quarter of its run it was outside of the bottom 30 which was thanks in part to a pair of early top 50 rankings including one near top 20. Two participants lose a bottom 5.

"Ain't Got Nothin' on Us" was released in August 1996 as the lead single from John Michael Montgomery's album What I Do the Best and peaked just inside the Top 15 later that year. Thanks in part to a pair of early rankings in the top half, this was able to stay outside of the bottom 30 for the first quarter of the its run. Once more lists started rolling in, however, the further down the song would find itself before landing at its lowest position in the final moments. All in all, this picked up six rankings in the bottom 10 including a pair of bottom 5s from Cody Wants Out... and .indulgecountry. Our first Top 25 loss unfortunately goes to gardyfan. I remember John Michael Montgomery having a lot of momentum heading into this album as he was just coming off three very successful eras with the most recent one being from his self-titled album released the year prior. In fact, this song managed to debut in the Top 40 on the country charts which at the time was still somewhat of a rare feat. That said, this song kind of took the wind out of his sails if you will as it then only managed to barely make the Top 15. With that said, I do consider its parent album, What I Do the Best, to be a quite good one and an underrated one at that.

Stats for #117:
Leaving next is our first Top 5 hit to depart. Ironically enough, this mostly remained a bottom 5 contender for the majority of its run. All in all, eleven participants lose a bottom 30 with three participants shedding a bottom 5 which includes someones last place. At the other end, though, is our very first Top 20 loss.

"That Girl's Been Spyin' on Me" was released in June 1996 as the second single from Billy Dean's album It's What I Do and was a Top 5 hit later that summer. As I mentioned above, ironically this was pretty much remained a bottom 5 contender for the majority of its run and even slipped back into last place early on. That is due in large part to 12 participants in all placing this somewhere within their bottom 30 including a last place from austin. Both KanenrĂĄ:ke and kw9461 shed a bottom 5 with LBTrocks becoming the first participant to lose a Top 20. I honestly forgot that this was even a Top 5 hit that year and I think it only managed to do so as it was somewhat of a summer bop. Despite my own bottom 20 ranking for this, I do enjoy the song and wouldn't turn it off if it happened to come on randomly. There really isn't much fanfare around Billy Dean here on Pulse, so it receiving so many low rankings wasn't all that surprising.

"It Works" was released in January 1996 as the third single from Alabama's album In Pictures and was a Top 20 hit for the group. Despite this picking up a trio of rankings within the top half including a pair of Top 35s from nathanalbright and kw9461, this remained a bottom 30 contender for its entire run as the majority of the group ranked this somewhere within that range. And while it did appear as though this might escape the bottom 5, it found itself back down inside there in the final moments. I do quite enjoy this song and it was great getting to revisit it again as I hadn't listened to it since Alabama's artist rankdown from some time ago. A song such as this one would most certainly not even be considered as a single nowadays, though.

I'm going to pause there for now and let y'all get back to your July 4th festivities, but I'll return later on this evening to reveal the next five songs which will round out our bottom 10! Garth Brooks has thus far managed to remain unscathed...will that remain the case as we move into the next set?! Stay tuned to find out .

Off to a decent start even though I was a higher rank for several of these, as none of them were losses that I feel upset about.
Looking forward to the Garth Brooks purge.

The first song to exit outside of the bottom 5 did in fact start out as such. While it did escape that fate, it still found itself riding out its time down inside the bottom 10 for the majority of its run. Two participants shed a bottom 5 while one other loses a Top 40.
