I like it. Glad she’s kicking off the new era with some tempo.

I like this. Probably my favorite lead from all of the country ladies new material so far.

This sounds like a great lead single leading into the summer season! I bet it would sound great on the radio too. I love the "I gotta have you..." part after the chorus (I guess it's the post-chorus?), I think it's the catchiest part of the song.
I hope this can coast up the charts faster than how some of her climbs have been post-"Legends" but maybe that's asking too much because chart runs have been slower than ever on average.

I was looking forward to it based on the snippet she posted, but I don't think I really like this.

My initial reaction is that it's a pleasant listen. Kinda gives me a throwback Taylor album track vibe and reminds me a bit of "Roses" but not as instant for me. Give me a few days and I'm sure it will grow on me more. Really dig the single artwork.

Really like the production in chorus… and i agree it’s a catchy bop.
Probably reminds me of Taylor swift more than any of her other singles

Probably reminds me of Taylor swift more than any of her other singles Thanks for this, this is what I also hear. I had been trying to figure out what it reminded me of (I was settling on KOTS era SHeDAISY lol) but it is definitely Taylor. Goes without saying, I love this! Kelsea has come into her own so much since she started. While she delivered hits right out of the gate and one iconic song (Peter Pan) her last 2 albums really showed her become more confident on stage, with her voice, with her body, everything. She is a star and I hope this next album is good enough to take her up another level. She is so likable.

I'm loving this. Such a fun song that should be an easy hit for her. It doesn't sound like it's an insincere attempt at just getting a radio hit either, which is what I was worried about. It sounds authentically Kelsea and like something that will be a big summer hit! I hope it can climb at a quick pace and that we get an album announcement within the next few weeks for a summer release!

I hope this is going to be the album that brings her career up to the next level. It felt bad to see how disappointed and heartbroken she was when her last album got lost at the beginning of the pandemic. The song is nice, and how refreshing would that be if country radio was smart enough to send this to #1 in less than 20 weeks.

This is such a wonderfully breezy summer bop. Perfect lead single choice after a more downtempo single. Echoing what others have said and hope that this album era takes her up a notch career-wise. She deserves to flourish.

Fails to debut on the US Spotify Chart.
263,606 was its debut on Spotify which is lower than both Maren and Carrie's recent lead singles. Hopefully Kelsea will be able to pick up some traction as time goes on for "HEARTFIRST". The song is too good to underperform.

I add my voice to the chorus of high praise for this song, and I also co-sign the Taylor Swift comparisons. I’ve always had a head-canon in my mind that Kelsea Ballerini’s music is what Taylor’s likely would’ve sounded like had she remained purely a country artist. Even some of Kelsea’s writing is not far off from sounding like it came from The Pen of Magic. I hope this hits big for her; it’s a breezy summer bop and she deserves to flourish! I’m also hoping this takes her up a step higher on the career ladder; she’s so charming and such a star.

The bit I heard of this earlier I liked but why do artists have to have a song title in all caps or all lower case? Lol

It is a beautiful ditty, and I hope it is a hit for her. That said, she has had much better! This seems like one of those surprise album songs that you always love, but realize "Yeah, gorgeous, but it's best as an album track".

She's not my favorite artist or anything, she mostly feels like inoffensive radio fodder*, but she always keeps managing to loop me in to buy her albums with the singles she puts out, whether it was "I Hate Love Songs" for Unapologetically, "homecoming queen?" for her last one, and now this. I enjoyed Unapologetically more overall than Kelsea, so hopefully the album is more in its vein lyrically.
* Then again, there are worse things than being inoffensive. I thought Maren was on track to be one of my favorite artists with her first album, and yet two albums later I've already lost interest in her music based on her new lead not sounding any less boring than Girl was. I still wish Maren success though.

I haven't really followed Kelsea's career before, however I quite like this song. I can't wait to see what her next album sounds like.

Kelly Clarkson covered "Peter Pan" on her show: Oh! She also covered Half of My Hometown about a month ago. Kelsea was sooooo happy!

I love this one so much. Kelsea is really serving us 90s/early 2000s country queen realness while some of her peers are going in the opposite direction. I hope the awards and recognition catch up.
