I don’t think she cares much about chart placement anymore, she was on TV once this week for promo💀 she definitely could have done more. Obviously it’s nice when you get it, but when she talked about Marfa she said “I don’t want it to be about about business for a minute, I just want it to be about music.” But yeah assuming Carrie will take Morgan down, and maybe Zach Bryan since his album is 1000 songs long.

The last artist that talks about that got her wish, so be careful...lol The CBS Sunday Morning segment is fine enough. Seems pretty standard nowadays that artists have one or two TV appearance on album release week only, especially considering how frequent she releases the albums.

Yep… disappointed to see her missing the top spot but, at the same time, only 6 artists have managed to get to #01 in Country Albums Charts in the past 20 months… that’s insane. Almost everyone is having a hard time against Wallen unfortunately.

Really her numbers aren’t that bad for where sales are at. Morgan being #1 this long and pulling in these strong streams for this long is abnormal.
If that didn’t happen then she would still have gone #1. The album is predicted it could be top 5 in the top 200, which is right in line with her other albums. It’s a win win.

As long as it doesn't discourage her from releasing more albums then I am okay with it. A lot of country artists (women in particular) seem to stop releasing music once they get to a certain point in their careers but for some reason I don't foresee Miranda doing that, luckily.

Yeah she’ll definitely be making music til her last breath.
The best case scenario in my head was 40k so we knew she wouldn’t touch Morgan. But this being not too shy of that is great. Also glad she did over 20k pure, and with the bandwagon tour starting in Texas this weekend hopefully more and more people will be finding the album.

I just felt the promo was going to be more. She missed the Grammys according to her because she was doing promo for her forthcoming album.

I think it was def the least amount she’s done, but she did also have shows so that’s prob just as good as any late night show because those barely seem to move the needle anymore. (And she skipped the Grammys because she had already committed to throwing her bff a birthday party before they rescheduled the date 😂)

It's still a solid opening and considering that everyone is getting cock-blocked by Morgan Wallen on the charts, it definitely eases the disappointment a bit, but it doesn't change the fact that her impressive record of debuting all of her studio sets at #1 since her first effort is now going to come to an end. This album would've ordinarily extended her streak and she's been doing well enough in her career that she probably could've kept it going for several more album cycles to come, too. :/

The Weight Of These Wings was a complete masterpiece, and Wildcard was incredibly good! This one... I didn't like it at all. I don't know what it is, the songs kept sounding awful to me. Curiously, the song If I Was a Cowboy, that I didn't like, I liked this time.

Liking this album (not surprisingly), but will need more time with it to give more thoughts.
I can already say, as a few others have mentioned, that "Carousel" is such a gorgeous song.
I'd try to get one more decent radio hit out of this and then throw that one out there to garner some SOTY award nominations and a talked-about performance or two. It's SO beautiful.

#2 country, #4 top 200 album with 36,000 SPS. Congratulations, Miranda Lambert.

The more I listen to this record the more “I’ll Be Loving You” jumps out to me as a hit single. I wonder if that will be third (assuming “Strange” is next).
I’m still OBSESSED with “Scenes,” one of my favorites from her, and I also agree with the love for “Country Money.”

The more I hear it, the more I love it. “I’ll Be Loving You” has quickly become my favourite song on the album. The album as a whole is so, so good. I’ve been listening to it pretty much nonstop for the last couple of weeks, just interspersed with The Judds music. As much as I do like it, I wish they hadn’t wasted a single slot on “If I Was A Cowboy”, since i’m not sure if we’ll get more than three singles from this album.

All these praises for Music City Queen, I'll Be Lovin' You and Country Money have me shocked. They are like the worst (in terms of production, lyrics, or even singing) songs here and too polarizing for country radio.
My current top 3 are Carousel, Waxahachie and That's What Makes the Jukebox Play. Only see Waxahachie to be a solid single choice among these three though.
Strange is quite catchy but the lyrics are below her average. It should be the second single to regain commercial momentum though.

I think Music City and Country Money are definitely polarizing and some people will just think she was being gimmicky for putting them on, with that said… Music City Queen live was the highlight of her show for me on Saturday. She was just so happy singing it.
Waxahachie is my dream single but I know it’s not happening. And I don’t want Strange because I want SOTY nominations so I’m in a pickle.

Ideally, my singles would’ve been:
1. Strange 2. Tourist 3. I’ll Be Loving You 4. Carousel
But I’m not sure what to expect now.

Actin up I think would be an ok choice as a single. Something fun and different from her.

Actin up I think would be an ok choice as a single. Something fun and different from her. I actually see potential in it too. It would probably be like "Little Red Wagon" and peak a bit lower due to probably some polarizing callout, but I think it would be offset some by it standing out and moving the needle in other ways. I wouldn't go with it until third or fourth though, after she gets another safer hit under her belt this era.

Finally got the chance to go out and buy this album, and gave it a spin in my car this morning. Yet another solid effort from the most consistent albums artists the country music genre has seen in quite awhile. I was going along the highways and county roads around my area and that’s where the sound of this album shines; like fearlessarrow said, it’s like taking a chill road trip. I also think the overall sound of this album is perfect for this time of year (warmer, summer months). The Marfa selections were all given impressive updates, PARTICULARLY “Waxahachie.” OMG; that one has me GAGGED. I would like to see that next on the radio, please. I’m also really loving “That’s What Makes the Jukebox Play” and “Carousel.” What a lovely pair of tunes. For me, Palomino doesn’t bother to reach Wildcard, but it’s also not the weakest in her catalog by any stretch of the imagination. Another solid A. My dream era going forward: 2. Waxahachie 3. Carousel/That’s What Makes the Jukebox Play (even if it’s a “Tin Man” moment as others have said) 4. Strange ”Actin’ Up” would also be cool to hear on the radio.

So "Actin' Up" has definitely grown on me since the album was released and I think it would make a good single.

Actin Up has been really stable. I’d say make it a single if it wasn’t polarizing for radio. They could still try.
I still think Strange is the hit waiting to happen.

Yeah I don’t know if Sony would have the balls to send it to radio but I think for now they’re trying to get it to take off on tiktok.

Not sure where else to put this, but it appears there will be no more singles from this album? That’s really surprising

"Strange" flopping as bad as it did killed any momentum this era had unfortunately (see Maren Morris current era probably also not having any new singles after her latest flopped). Still shocked that flopped as bad as it did.

I noticed they started to give "I'll Be Lovin' You" more playlisting on streaming platforms, so I was getting the impression we would be getting a 3rd single...

Could obviously be coincidence but I’ve noticed she’s been sharing way more with Brendan lately. Could see her doing another video with him for IBLY.
