^I wish they just pushed this on the pop radio then, as this is definitely more of a pop song and considering that he has two new strong Country songs âDonât Think Jesusâ and âThought You Should Knowâ. He could have gained the success on the country platform with either of them, while trying on the pop platform with You Proof. Just canât stand that this is being promoted over his other 20+ of his masterpieces. Iâm just looking forward to this peaking and giving room for the next single. Grady Smith just uploaded the video about a song he hates by his fav artist, and this song is the one for me for sure.

From Billboard:
âTwo Country Hits in Hot 100âs Top 10
Thanks to Wallenâs âYou Proofâ and Combsâ âThe Kind of Love We Make,â two top 10 Hot Country Songs hits place in the Hot 100âs top 10 together. The tracks rank at No. 1 (for a sixth week, as noted above) and No. 2 on Hot Country Songs (after four weeks on top), respectively.
The songs combine for the fourth such double-up in just over two years â after none had occurred in over 20 years, since May 13, 2000, when Faith Hillâs âBreatheâ and Lonestarâs âAmazedâ ranked at Nos. 3 and 10 on the Hot 100, respectively.
Hereâs a recap of the five most recent instances of Hot Country Songs top 10s sharing space in the Hot 100âs top 10, with Wallen, Combs and Gabby Barrett factoring into two each:
Oct. 1, 2022: âYou Proof,â Morgan Wallen (No. 6 on the Hot 100), âThe Kind of Love We Make,â Luke Combs (No. 8) Nov. 27, 2021: âAll Too Well (Taylorâs Version),â Taylor Swift (No. 1), âFancy Like,â Walker Hayes (No. 10) Nov. 7, 2020: âForever After All,â Combs (No. 2), âI Hope,â Gabby Barrett feat. Charlie Puth (No. 6) Aug. 29, 2020: â7 Summers,â Wallen (No. 6), âI Hopeâ (No. 10) May 13, 2000: âBreathe,â Faith Hill (No. 3), âAmazed,â Lonestar (No. 10)
Notably, unlike the four most recent team-ups until this week, both âProofâ and âKindâ appear in the Hot 100âs top 10 without the assistance of pop/adult radio promotion. âAll Too Well,â âFancy Likeâ and âI Hope,â as well as âBreatheâ and âAmazed,â all drew multi-format airplay support. Wallen and Combsâ latest hits are both scaling the tier largely thanks to their streaming and country radio strength, as they rank at Nos. 5 and 7, respectively, on Streaming Songs and Nos. 3 and 2, respectively, on the Country Airplay chart.â

Wonder if he releases something brand new shortly after or if they release âThought You Should Knowâ next, which is still streaming extremely well. I know somebody mentioned a song being recorded with Sam Hunt not that long ago, but not sure if that was for him or for Sam (or if it was even real).

Takes over the #1 spot this week on Billboard. As much as I would have loved to see Cole Swindell nab a 5th week at #1 I am excited to see how long "You Proof" lasts at #1.

Any predictions on the next single? "Thought You Should Know" is doing well.. Or maybe Big Loud just waits until after Christmas to send out the follow-up to "You Proof"..

Theyâre probably going to attempt to match or best Cole Swindellâs streak and I wouldnât be surprised if we have an unreleased single before the new year.

He had so many good songs he could of released from Dangerous still. "865", "Somebody's Problem", "Whiskey'd My Way" just to name a few. The album is still selling really well too. It's gonna be a shame to see so many good songs from the album not getting a chance at radio.

Is there a chance this goes back to #1 during the Christmas freeze and becomes an 8 or even 9 week #1?

Jeez, Spotify pre-made playlist overplayed this song so so so much that I do not mind this anymore. It's still his worst single to this date, but my hatred is kinda gone, also because he sent Thought You Should Know as a single after all.
The other note is that I was surprised to see his show costing around $700 CAD in freaking tasteless Vancouver, and he plays 2 nights here? Like wow, good thing I saw him 2 yrs ago opening for Combs for like $60, but I wasn't sure if many ppl would actually pay that much for him in this city.

His show here in Montreal is also going to be expensive. Iâm not planning to go or anything but friends are and theyâre complaining about his price.

Eveery show has become expensive. Even the lesser known ones are starting to push $100.

Dang I was really pulling for "She Had Me At Heads Carolina" to pull the upset off and sneak to #1 instead. But eh this song still deserves the amount of weeks at #1.

Furthermore, he is the first artist to snatch all top 3 of Hot Country Songs chart with this song (#1), One Thing At A Time (#2) and Wasted On You (#3).

This feels like the biggest country hit since maybe âBody Like A Backroadâ. Just crushed it in every metric possible.

I'm just glad this (and Cole) blocked "Country On" from hitting #1 or even the top 2 this week after that egregious push. I don't even like this song, but Luke's is a total dud and a non-event.

I just realized YP returned to #1 - I thought it was recurrent because of MB. How is MB legit when it removed the Top 2 songs last week? I'm assuming Billboard is using audience versus spins for Country Airplay.
Will the label push this to Top 40/HAC in January?

Different recurrent rules I believe and like you mentioned, BBCA uses audience for their ranking.

I just realized YP returned to #1 - I thought it was recurrent because of MB. How is MB legit when it removed the Top 2 songs last week? I'm assuming Billboard is using audience versus spins for Country Airplay. Mediabase recurrent rules are three weeks without a bullet, which happened to both "You Proof" and "She Had Me at Heads Carolina" (#2 on Billboard Country Airplay). Those recurrent rules have been in place for many years. The only exception to that three-week, non-bulleted rule is if a song hits number one; even if a song doesn't have a bullet, if it's at number one that week it won't count towards its recurrent clock. Billboard Country Airplay now uses Mediabase's audience data to rank its singles, but have kept its recurrent rules; sending descending songs in audience or spins below the top 10, recurrent, if they have spent 20 weeks charting. They also send songs recurrent below the top 10, if they have posted three consecutive non-bulleted weeks, regardless of weeks charting. If a single peaks between 1-5, it must remain on the chart for at least one additional week, even if dropping below the top 10. "You Proof" and "She Had Me at Heads Carolina" would be #5 on Mediabase this past week, if they were still on the chart; based off total points. Both songs still, however, have a high audience total on Mediabase, which has influenced the new Billboard Country Airplay chart. The switch to MB data for BB has some influencing results.

So what are the odds this gets an 8th week at #1 on BB?

So what are the odds this gets an 8th week at #1 on BB? It's definitely possible. "You Proof" and "She Had Me At Heads Carolina" are dead even in terms of audience on Mediabase as of the recurrents published ("You Proof" has about 200k lead) and in terms of all stations "She Had Me At Heads Carolina" has a lead on "You Proof" (a little over 1100k). Could go either way. Not to mention Jelly Roll is also pretty high up in audience. I don't do predictions any more but just quickly looking at the stats this next Billboard week could and probably will like last week will be very close.

Will be interesting to see if this can tie Lonestar's "Amazed" and Alan Jackson & Jimmy Buffett's "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" for most weeks at #1 on Country Airplay chart. I thought Luke Combs was going to do it with "Beautiful Crazy" a few years ago but it didn't happen.

Sorry for the double post but this is #1 on Billboard for an 8th week. He tied the record for most weeks at #1 on country airplay but not most consecutive weeks at #1 which is still held by Lonestarâs âAmazedâ which spent all 8 weeks at #1 consecutively.
