Winning their second straight leg is... 1. Meg's Alt Accounts (Beno & Mayman )Overall Score: 73.2 | Detour Rank: #1 | Roadblock Rank: #3 | Bonus From Last Leg: +1.1Detour Results:(Precise Time)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: The little riff that plays after the chorus is practically perfect. One of my favorite ABBA jams (9.5)District: (8.7)Adrian: I'm here for ABBA during Pride Month! Definitely one of my favorites of their hits as it honestly has all the qualities of a perfect pop song, including it being a timeless anthem! (10)Walt: a legendary earworm, abba really knew their way around a chorus and the piano melody is so iconic (9.3)Overall Score: 37.5 Roadblock Results:(Sent by Beno)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: This song is just a fantastic slice of joy. The horns are so fun and Peter Gabriel delivers a strong performance over them. Can’t get enough of this one (9.8)
District: (8.4)
Leaf: (7.6)
Samo: amazing video. (8.8)
Overall Score: 34.6
You two have not moved down a single placement between legs all race, now finishing with your second straight win and becoming the first team this season to win two legs. You've clearly established yourselves as the team to beat, and you'll get a +0.9 bonus next leg to continue that momentum.

Finishing just 0.2 points out of 1st is... 2. ZeBB (matteeeb & BB🌕 )Overall Score: 73 | Detour Rank: #2 | Roadblock Rank: #1 | Bonus From Last Leg: +0.6Detour Results:
(Precise Time)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: The guitar work here is great (8.8)District: (9.3)Adrian: Such a nostalgic tune that always puts me in a good mood! I really love the instrumental here! It's a classic, and for good reason! (8.9)Walt: how has no one sent this before? that’s shocking to me. this is a classic regardless, i find myself connecting more and more to songs about nostalgia these days which idk how to feel about lol (9.2)Overall Score: 36.2 Roadblock Results:
(Sent by BB)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: Dark writing but I really dug it (8.8)
District: (9.2)
Leaf: (9)
Samo: again, considering the subject matter i don’t feel like a two-word joke is appropriate here. i’m sure i’ve heard this before but i don’t remember it being this good, holy s**t. i haven’t heard many songs that combine a darker subject matter with upbeat pop instrumentation this well. (9.2)
Overall Score: 36.2
After starting out the season poorly with back to back 6th place finishes, you two have great improved, being one of just two teams to not move down placements between any legs. You'll get a +0.4 bonus next leg to help you continue that upward trend.

His voice is just so soothing and he's an excellent songwriter as well! This song takes me to another world, and those kinds of songs oftentimes tend to be my favorites! (9.2)Walt: just a really pretty song, love the piano (8.3)Overall Score: 35.5 Roadblock Results:(Sent by Will)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: The writing in this song is top notch, I love the little details sprinkled all throughout. Great track (9.4)

Somehow surviving is...
wait no.
Barely surviving yet again is...
4. Bornussia Dortmund (filthy & born )Overall Score: 67.8 | Detour Rank: #4 | Roadblock Rank: #4 | Bonus From Last Leg: +0Detour Results:
(Precise Time)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: The beat here is very cool, it has a nice groove to it (8.6)District: (8.4)Adrian: Ooh this one has a groovy beat to it! I really dig that and Kendrick's delivery is on point! (8.7)Walt: this beat is fantastic (8.7)Overall Score: 34.4 Roadblock Results:
(Sent by Filthy)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: The hook is completely iconic, and helps make this song quite memorable (9)District: (8.7)Leaf: (7.3)Samo: not even going to meme for this one; it’s actually incredible and i wish i enjoyed it as much as i respect it. (8.4)Overall Score: 33.4After a scorching hot start to the race, you two have either been in last or second to last the past three legs. You won't have a bonus next leg, but you will have another shot to break out of your cold stretch. Tumbling into last place is...5. J&J Security (maine & CagedJuggalo The Third Tanker )Overall Score: 65.2 | Detour Rank: #5 | Roadblock Rank: #5 | Bonus From Last Leg: +0.4Detour Results:
(Precise Time)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: There’s some not great lines, but also some truly amusingly great lines. Overall, it’s a pretty fun and enjoyable song (8.1)District: (8)Adrian: I have quite a bit of nostalgia attached to this song. I just really vibe with the verses and that chorus is honestly amazing. I appreciate this being sent because I have a tendency to forget just how much I love this song! (9.4)Walt: admittedly this has some cheesy lines but, like, i can’t deny how happy this song makes me lol. definitely just a good vibe (8.5)Overall Score: 34 Roadblock Results:
(Sent by Jugg)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I mean, I think it’s kinda fun, but I can’t help but wonder if there were better options to send for this theme. But again, the song itself is fun enough (7.8)
District: (8)
Leaf: (6.4)
Samo: amazing jim steinman. (8.6)
Overall Score: 30.8
This was just not your leg, as you two finished last in both challenges, and I'm sorry to say that you have been eliminated from the race. Thanks for playing!

Everyone's eyes will be drawn to the "I'd Do Anything For Love" choice but honestly I'm more happy about "3005" being last place in Detour too. The scores were still too high but I half-expected that song to save J&J since it's inexplicably so praised in most places.

Be sure to specify which theme you are sending for!Detour ThemesMedia Piece or Delayed ReleaseMedia Piece: The Giraffe Manor in Nairobi is referred to as the most Instagram worthy hotel in the world—it’s easy to see why, as patrons of the hotel get to have breakfast and afternoon tea with giraffes. For this detour, you must send a song that was primarily popularized through social media such as Tik Tok.ORDelayed Release: Nairobi was founded in 1899, but only became the capital of Kenya in 1902. For this detour, you must send a song that was released as a single for the first time over a year after the album it was on was released.
Challenge #2: RoadblockWhat is a roadblock? In these challenges, only one member of the team can come up with a song to send. No consulting. You'll be on the honor system here. Send in your group pm who will do this roadblock. They will then without consulting their teammate see the theme and send the song in individual pms. tl;dr only one person sends a song, pick who that is in the group pms, then and only then they see the theme. Challenge #3: Special RoadblockA special roadblock is like a roadblock, except that you are aiming to send the worst song possible, and scores are reversed. The team member not doing the roadblock will perform the special roadblock. Same roadblock rules apply; do not discuss with your teammate regarding what you are sending.
For this leg, the teams are all swapped! Here are the following teams:born & willapted33 Beno & matteeeb Mayman & filthy Sambalada & BB🌕

Winning the leg by nearly 15 points is...1. Bornussia No. 5 (born & willapted33 )Overall Score: 108.2 | Detour Rank: #1 | Roadblock Rank: #1 | Special Roadblock Rank: #1Detour Results:
(Delayed Release)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I love songs like this, where they have a slightly melancholic yet anthemic feel to them. Great selection (9.5)District: (10)Austin: I forgot how much I like this band because I haven’t stayed up on them recently. The melody here is infectious! (9)Drem: I think I could right a piece on this and still not get down what makes this song great. Régine's ethereal voice, the synth progression throughout, the wanderlust in the lyrics with one of the best hooks in indie rock of the 2010s, and just an empowering vibe. I said earlier that Lost was near perfect. Well this song is perfect (10)Overall Score: 38.5Roadblock Results:
(Sent by Born)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: As soon as I started listening to this I remembered it from the various movies it’s been featured it. The track does have a very cinematic, grand feel to it (9.1)District: (7.7)Razor: Pretty nice melody and singing here. Not too sure how to rate music like this but it was nice. (7.7)Tay: This one’s universally famous for a reason! (10)Overall Score: 34.5Special Roadblock Results:
(Sent by Will)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: Really, this isn’t significantly worse than the original Yummy. If anything, I’m probably more likely to listen to this version due to my pure amusement with its existence. It’s still quite bad though (1)
District: (1.3)
James: This version is somehow a first listen for me. I weirdly don’t hate the remix of the actual song, as I think the countrified production supplements the song enough where it doesn’t make it worse than it already is. Florida Georgia Line’s verses made me burst out laughing for how bad they were. (2.3)
Jugg: Ok let's get it out of the way, I'm a Belieber and I absolutely Stan the HELL out of OG Yummy. This is absolutely disgraceful, and I can't tell what's worse: The country twang or thinking of some hillbilly telling me he wants to eat my plate clean like it's f**king Deliverance. The only positive thing is Bieber, and I wouldn't be shocked if the disgusting ingredients in this cause the karma upon his face today (0.2)
Overall Score: 4.8 -> 35.2
You two pulled off the rare PAR Triple Crown this leg, winning all three challenges and securing a +5 bonus for both your teams next leg in the process!

Landing in second is...
2. Meg's Dortmund (Mayman & filthy )Overall Score: 93.5 | Detour Rank: #4 | Roadblock Rank: #2 | Special Roadblock Rank: #2Detour Results:
(Media Piece)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I really enjoyed this, great guitars and vocals all around (9.3)District: (8.6)Austin: I mean I get it, but I don’t like it. It sounds like whiny indie band mess to me. I don’t dislike the Pixies but I’m not sure what this song adds that any other indie song hasn’t already. (5)Drem: feel bad that I've never gotten around to listening to more Pixies songs outside of this one but that guitar line is still legendary for a reason (8.4)Overall Score: 31.3Roadblock Results:
(Sent by Mayman)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I vibed with this one, I thought it had a pleasant main melody to it. (8.4)District: (8.2)Razor: Pretty cool sound here. I feel like I know this band but I can't remember ever hearing French music that sounded like this. Either way this symphonic indie rock sound is cool and should be done more. (9.1)Tay: (8.2)Overall Score: 33.9Special Roadblock Results:(Sent by Filthy)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: Irritating and lame (1.3)
District: (1.8)
James: Someone needs to stop Jake Paul omg. I could not stop laughing during this entire song. This was horrific. The instrumental sounds like something they bought off of a royalty free website. (0.6)
Jugg: Aww look at Logan Paul spitting out 🔥🔥🔥. I have no notes, and this is a perfect song, but I'm only docking points because his bitch ass thinks he is still a legit fighter. At least Logan is being his true heelish self at WrestleMania, but then again it's easy to be a heel when It's Everyday Bro with that Disney Channel Flow. (8)
Overall Score: 11.7 -> 28.3
You two did well on your roadblocks, but struggled on the detour—perhaps a sign that you two are strong racers but it's best for you to go back to your original teams!

Avoiding the speed bump is...
3. Zedd's Alt Accounts (Beno & matteeeb ) Overall Score: 89.6 | Detour Rank: #2 | Roadblock Rank: #3 | Special Roadblock Rank: #3Detour Results:
(Media Piece)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: This song has such a great beat (8.8)District: (8.2)Austin: I honestly love this! Love love it. The beat is infectious and Ocean has a swag about him in the delivery. (9.5)Drem: There's a reason this is one of my favorite Frank Ocean songs of all time. The synth loop, Frank's naturally emotive voice, that hook and especially the way the strings come in, it's damn near perfect (9.6)Overall Score: 36.1Roadblock Results:
(Sent by Zedd)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I liked the grainy feel of the instrumentation and how the soft vocals meshed over those instruments. The horns that line ups ith the vocals are also a nice touch (8.8)District: (8.8)Razor: The piano here was cool and bouncy, I liked that. Why did I get the French challenge?? (8.1)Tay: (7.9)Judge's Thoughts: 33.6Special Roadblock Results:
(Sent by Beno)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: Sometimes I feel like there’s a word to describe a song or movie and I just can’t quite place my finger on it for a while. This was one of those cases, but the word I eventually settled on was nauseating (0.6)District: (5.4)James: I don’t think this is that bad? The production kinda bangs, but the rest is a mess – well really this whole era was for Miley. I don’t know, not the worst I’ve heard from this album, hell maybe even the best. (5.2)Jugg: I have never heard this but I absolutely love this. This is absolutely experimentald and psychedelic, it makes me feel like I'm on a trip without taking any drugs. This is my Everything Bagel. I do dock points for not understanding it on first listen, but scholars will look back on this era of Miley and applaud her for trying something absolutely inspiring.....AND THIS ENDING, I STAN SO HARD. POINTS TO GRYFFINWHORE (8.9)Overall Score: 20.1 -> 19.9You two didn't excel this leg, but you also avoided saddling your teams with speed bumps for the next legLanding in last is...
4. WamBBa (Sambalada & BB🌕 )Overall Score: 81.4 | Detour Rank: #3 | Roadblock Rank: #4 | Special Roadblock: #4Detour Results:
(Media Piece)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: This was nice, especially the grand feel of the chorus. (8.8)District: (9.2)Austin: I must be old because I missed this going viral anywhere, but it’s real music and a good song. (8.5)Drem: I remember this going viral last year and being pleasantly surprised by it. Didn't expect something rather gothic lyrically, sonically, and even vocally getting attention. I could see someone like Nick Cave or even Father John Misty making this song, so I'm surprised it's an original. Haven't returned to it since last year but it's still a rather gorgeous romantic ode to the apocalypse. (8.6)Overall Score: 35.1Roadblock Results:
(Sent by Samba)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I do think the instrumentation here is very pleasant, there’s good use of a variety of instruments. The pace of the vocals just doesn’t mesh with the rest of the song which makes the whole track feel disjointed (7.1)District: (7)Razor: Man, wtf was this. This dude rapping in French over an Aristocats beat. I gotta give it up to wacky stuff like this. (8.4)Tay: (7.6)Overall Score: 30.1Special Roadblock Results:
(Sent by BB)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: The writing is certainly cheesy, but it’s perfectly fine to listen to. There were far worse options here (5)
District: (4)
James: This sounds like Paul and Stevie recorded this song separately from each other and had no clue the other person was singing on it with them, then the producer took both versions and put them on top of each other and out comes “Ebony and Ivory”. They don’t even sound good together lol. Lyrics also seem a tad bit oversimplified for the message they’re trying to get by like it’s made for children. I feel like someone could have picked worse for this though because it’s pretty inoffensive for the most part. (4.8)
Jugg: 🎶Ebony and Ivory.....Live together in perfect harmony..... Because THE WORLD IS BLACK. THE WORLD IS WHITE, IT TURNS BY DAY, AND THEN BY NIGHT Since she's got Jungle Fever He's got Jungle Fever They've got Jungle Fever WE'RE IN LOVE🎶 (10)
Overall Score: 23.8 -> 16.2
You two both bombed your roadblocks, and that has meant your teams will receive speed bumps next leg. Best of luck

Leg 7 Chengdu, TaipeiChallenge #1: DetourWhat is a detour? In these challenges, two themes will be available, and teams will choose to send a song for the one they feel more confident in. Be sure to specify which theme you are sending for!Detour ThemesShort Reign or Mascot PlaneShort Reign: After it opened in 2004, the Taipei 101 building was the world’s tallest building—however, it lost this title in 2009 upon the opening of the Burj Khalifa, ironically making it a short lived tallest building. For this detour, you must send a song by someone with a similarly short lived stardom, a song by a one hit wonder that was not their one hit.ORMascot Plane: The Taiwanese airline EVA Air has 11 planes that are decorated based on Hello Kitty. For this detour, you must send a song whose title mentions a character from a movie or TV show.
Challenge #2: RoadblockWhat is a roadblock? In these challenges, only one member of the team can come up with a song to send. No consulting. You'll be on the honor system here. Austin: I mean I get it, but I don’t like it. It sounds like whiny indie band mess to me. I don’t dislike the Pixies but I’m not sure what this song adds that any other indie song hasn’t already. (5)
Well austin, the answer is, it added a lot. "Where Is My Mind?" was such a game-changer that rock and pop (as a secondary effect) in the 90s would have been completely different without it. Let's put this into perspective. The alternative rock sphere that Surfer Rosa crashed into in March 1988 sounded like this: 1. post-punk leaning into arena rock {The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary} {U2 - Where The Streets Have No Name} 2. jangle pop developing into indie/twee pop {R.E.M. - The One I Love} {They Might Be Giants - Don't Let's Start} 3. the beginnings of shoegaze/dream pop {A.R. Kane - Lolita} {Cocteau Twins - Love's Easy Tears} 4. power pop {The Replacements - Alex Chilton} 5. softening hardcore punk bands {Husker Du - Don't Want To Know If You Are Lonely} 6. post-punk leaning into Americana type sounds {Meat Puppets - Plateau} {The Cramps - What's Inside A Girl} and 7. noise rock {Sonic Youth - Catholic Block} The first scene didn't need any help breaking into the mainstream. 2 and 3 sometimes peeked in but were generally going to remain college rock/Anglophile concerns. The remaining scenes pointed to the road forward but needed a synthesis since they were mostly too ungainly for mass consumption on their own. Pixies took the big hooks from 4, the emotional core and energy from 5, the charisma and familiarity from 6, and the experimentation with structure/arrangement/speed/riffs/volume from 7. They proved to other bands you could mix these clashing sarcastic/irreverent/sad/eerie tones and be coherent and catchy, and that you could tackle these bleeding-heart aching beauty song arcs and still come off 'cool'. Without "Where Is My Mind?" I doubt we still get songs like Radiohead's "Creep", The Smashing Pumpkins' "Today", and Nirvana's "All Apologies" (Pixies influence is all over Nirvana's entire catalog but when we're talking WIMM specifically that song is the biggest 1-to-1 comparison)

The alternative rock sphere that Surfer Rosa crashed into in March 1988 sounded like this: 1. post-punk leaning into arena rock {The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary} {U2 - Where The Streets Have No Name} 2. jangle pop developing into indie pop {R.E.M. - The One I Love} {They Might Be Giants - Don't Let's Start} 3. the beginnings of shoegaze/dream pop {A.R. Kane - Lolita} {Coctaeu Twins - Love's Easy Tears} 4. power pop {The Replacements - Alex Chilton} 5. softening hardcore punk bands {Husker Du - Don't Want To Know If You Are Lonely} 6. post-punk leaning into Americana type sounds {Meat Puppets - Plateau} {The Cramps - What's Inside A Girl} 7. and noise rock {Sonic Youth - Catholic Block} The first scene didn't need any help breaking into the mainstream. Without "Where Is My Mind?" I doubt we still get songs like Radiohead's "Creep", The Smashing Pumpkins' "Today", and Nirvana's "All Apologies" (Pixies influence is all over Nirvana's entire catalog but when we're talking WIMM specifically that song is the biggest 1-to-1 comparison) Sir, you are my final crush for Pride Month, congratulations

Austin: I mean I get it, but I don’t like it. It sounds like whiny indie band mess to me. I don’t dislike the Pixies but I’m not sure what this song adds that any other indie song hasn’t already. (5)

Securing the first spot in the final 3 of PAR All Stars is...
1. Bornussia Dortmund (filthy & born )Overall Score: 107.15 | Detour Rank: #2 | Roadblock Rank: #1 | Intersection Rank: #1 | Bonus From Last Two Legs: +5Detour Results: Simon & Garfunkel - Mrs. Robinson (Mascot Plane)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: (9.9)District: (8.4)Naomi: what the f**k kind of name is garfunkel im really supposed to take that seriously?? simon is a name sure like yeah that’s real but GARFUNKEL!?!?!?!? sounds like a f**king name of a goblin theres no f**king way ahahahahahahahahahahhahaa (7.2)Violet: Oh so this is the song AJJ is referencing at the end of “People II: The Reckoning”. OK I have a lot more to say about this song outside of that. I am a sucker for songs like these right now and this song hits the f**king spot for me. Over the span of me writing the reviews of these songs, I’ve returned to this song five or six times at this rate. It’s just so well structured from the ad-libbing in the intro to the lyrical changes in the final two choruses, to the vocal delivery in the verses. Everything works so well here. (9.5)Overall Score: 35 Roadblock Results:Georges Bizet - Havanaise(Sent by Born)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: (7.4)District: (7.2)jtd: (8.25)Wrip: such a slay song (9)Overall Score: 31.85 Intersection Results:The Beatles - Penny Lane(Sent with Meg's Alt Accounts)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: (9.8)
District: (8.8)
Geo: (7.7)
American Idiot: I grew up on The Beatles and this is one of my favorite all-time songs of theirs. It's an absolute classic that I've learned to appreciate more over time. It's one of those tunes that you can put anything negative going on in your life behind you and just relax to. Just so incredibly carefree. (9)
Overall Score: 35.3
You two won the very first leg of the race, and could not have picked a better time to win your second, securing a chance to race to be the winning team in PAR All Stars. You'll get a +0.7 bonus to help you with that quest.

The second top three spot goes to...
2. Wamba No. 5 (willapted33 & Sambalada )Overall Score: 99.9 | Detour Rank: #1 | Roadblock Rank: #3 | Intersection Rank: #2 | Bonus From Last Two Legs: +5.2Detour Results:Fiona Apple - Paper Bag(Short Reign)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: (9)District: (9.2)Naomi: isnt it so cool when women (8.6)Violet: Outside of “Fetch The Bolt Cutters” being one of the better albums to come out of 2020 in my opinion and thinking that “Criminal” is pleasant, I’m not very familiar with Fiona Apple’s work. This is my first listen for this song and what a solid first listen it is. With that being said, I don’t really know what to say about this song to be quite honest outside of that it’s really f**king good. (8.7)Overall Score: 35.5 Roadblock Results: Katherine Jenkins - The Flower Duet (Sent by Samba)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: (7.1)District: (6.4)jtd: (8)Wrip: slay! this song does just that (9.3)Overall Score: 30.8 Intersection Results:
Lorde - Million Dollar Bills(Sent with ZeBB)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: (8)District: (7.8)Geo: (6.4)American Idiot: This was my first time hearing this one. I have mixed feelings about the "Oh oh oh" background vocals. They got on my nerves pretty quickly, but also add an element to the song that makes sense with the rest of it to keep you interested. The song itself is decently catchy and Lorde does a fine job with her vocals. Overall, it did seem too short at 2:18 and there could have been quite a few more verses to double the length to 4 1/2 minutes. (6.5)Overall Score: 28.7 Speed Bump Results:
( Speed Bump Theme: Presidential Living Taipei’s Grand Hotel has been a frequent stop for U.S. presidents upon their visits to Taipei, with both Ronald Reagan and Dwight Eisenhower staying in the 500-room space. For this speed bump, you must send a song by an artist who has performed at the White House. Aretha Franklin - Think
Judge's Thoughts:Nick: (-0.1)
District: (-0.2)
Overall Penalty: -0.3 After nearly going out the first leg, you two have been up in the top 3 consistently, and now you'll have a +0.2 bonus to help establish yourselves as the ultimate PAR champion team.

Clairo - Bags(Short Reign)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: (9.5)District: (9)Naomi: is it just me or does the girl car from cars look like cl- (7.8)Violet: I used to really like this song a couple years ago but I haven’t really listened to it since. Sadly, relistening to it now, it doesn’t really do much for me. Rostam did a great job handling production— everything sounds balanced and I really like the sound of the guitar playing throughout the track. With that being said though, this type of sound just doesn’t do it for me anymore, at least the same way it did a few years ago. After a hot streak to end the season, you two fell down between legs for the first time this season here, even finishing last in both the detour and roadblock. However, your intersection saved you, and has given you the chance to race for the chance to be the ultimate PAR champion team
Coming in last is...
4. ZeBB (matteeeb & BB🌕 ) Overall Score: 94.05 | Detour Rank: #3 | Roadblock Rank: #2 | Intersection Rank: #2 | Bonus From Last Two Legs: +0.4
Detour Results:
a-ha - The Sun Always Shines on T.V. (Short Reign)
Judge's Thoughts:
Nick: (9.5)
District: (8.7)
Naomi: although inferior to take on me this is still decent. i wish norway was real (6.6)
Violet: I’ve always heard this song in passing throughout much of my life but this is my first time actually taking a closer listen to it and… i really love this song! Their big hit “Take On Me” is an honest to god pop institution at this point and easily one of the greatest pop songs of all time so obviously this isn’t as good but it definitely deserves a spot among the greats in terms of 80s pop songs. (9.2)
Overall Score: 34
Roadblock Results:
Guiseppe Verdi - La traviata (Sent by Zedd)

Judge's Thoughts:
Nick: (-0.3)

Your struggles with the intersection and across the board this leg caused you two to fall into last, and I'm sorry to say that you have been eliminated from the race. Thanks for playing!

Leg 8 Hong Kong, OsakaChallenge #1: DetourWhat is a detour? In this leg, four themes will be available, and teams will choose to send songs for two themes they feel more confident in. Be sure to specify which two themes you are sending for!Detour ThemesFossil Mall or Castle Hall or Historical Fall or Studio SprawlFossil Mall: Osaka features numerous underground shopping malls, one of which, Umeda, has fossils from the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods in its walls! For this detour, you must send a song that samples a song released at least 20 years earlier.ORCastle Hall: Arguably the most famous spot in Osaka is the Osaka Castle—though many may not know that the current Osaka Castle is actually the third version of the castle, after the first was buried underground and the second was destroyed by a lightning strike. For this detour, you must send a cover of a song that peaked higher on the Hot 100 than the original did. OR Historical Fall: Many historical monuments in Osaka were destroyed during World War 2. For this detour, you must send a song that has similarly been lost to time, a song that is not available on Spotify. OR Studio Sprawl: The first Universal Studios theme park outside of the United States to open was in Osaka, helping to popularize characters and theme park rides that may have originated somewhere else. For this detour, you must send a song that was not written for a movie, but was popularized by its use in a movie.
Challenge #3: Roadblock IIEach team member will be performing separate roadblocks. Same roadblock rules apply. Challenge #4: Final ChallengeAs we wrap up the season, it's time to look back and reflect on past legs. For the final challenge, you must send two songs that you have previously sent during the race that you feel represent your time in the race.
Each team is sending six songs: two detours, two roadblocks, and two past songs.
Consult with your teammate and get your songs in within 48 hours or else your team will NOT have a song in that category and will get an automatic 0/10. Feel free to ask Nick and District any and all questions you may have. Check this list to make sure your song has not been sent in a previous season. Please also check if your song actually fits every criteria mentioned. The world is waiting for you. Travel safe. Go!
