The big question, of course, is will this do anything? Will it be a fast rise/fast fall, peaking in the 30s or so and spending a handful of weeks on the chart? Top 10? Bonafide comeback smash? Somewhere in between?
I have no idea what to expect here.

what a coincidence that I heard the entirety of The Black Parade for the very first time today lol. This song genuinely stacks up well with the best tracks on that album

Two listens in and, yeah, I can absolutely see it catching on. Not as over the top ("Na Na Na" style) as I was expecting and though, yes my personal chart reflects my 2005-2007 19-21 year old self as Fuse/MuchMusic "screamo punk" was my core sound. However, this has a melody that far transcends the three-chords of pop-punk or booming vocals of "emo."
Again, I have no idea what to expect. In terms of instrumentation/melody, I feel it is set apart from mere post-pop-punk or whatever you want to call it. I feel vibes of top 10 on both rock and alt with 15 or maybe more weeks on each format. No crossover here and that's okay. But I've been wrong before, especially I think with newer or "comeback" artists.
Or is it "End To The Lies" (Jane's Addiction) or "A Looking In View" (AIC)? Two still great songs, IMHO.

I prfer :the three-chords of pop-punk or booming vocals of "emo.", but this one still carries on a fierce melody, and has an epic feel. Should be just fine for ACtive as well.

I have a theory that this is a promo and a true lead will come later. As great as this song is this is a very unpop friendly song from a rock band that was hooky enough for pop. Either was I'm excited to see how this does.

Does anyone else think this has major “Family” by Bafflower vibes?
It gives me Pink Floyd vibes, too. I really enjoy this. This mixing does seem a just a tad off in the first bit of the song. Almost exactly what I’d hope for an MCR comeback!

I hope this is huge for nostalgia's sake. I do like this although I wish the vocals were louder. Will be interesting to see how it does. With the reemergence of emo/pop punk, I feel like it be hits. MCR are gods of the genre

If bands like A Day To Remember and Rise Against can generate Rock airplay, I don't see how MCR couldn't. I guess I kind of assumed MCR had some Active Rock history but evidently they don't? I see their highest charting single there was "Famous Last Words", if I'm not mistaken. This sounds like it would fit on Rock.

It would actually be so cool if this was a #1. Would blow the current record for gaps between consecutive #1s out of the water, and would be the first true piece of post-hardcore at #1 (I think? Unless you wanna count wttbp or something I'm forgetting)

I love this, and pleased to see the reaction here is mostly favorable, because in other online outlets it has seemed quite mixed. It’s struggling to keep its momentum after a hot start, which isn’t really that surprising as it’s long, a little depressing, and kind of slow. But there’s shades of many other MCR tracks in this, most of which we’re not released as singles. The group is still as popular as ever though—I can’t believe how much tickets cost for their arena tour.

this has grown on me some but it still strikes me as much more of an epic opening track then a lead single. that said i'm surprised its already slowing down
