From the previews I've heard on his social media accounts, it sounds like it will be a good song. Does anyone know if this is a one album deal or does he plan to have a longer solo career?

This cover is so emblematic of male country music in general these days.

AllAccess has this listed as "9 Foot 5", but "5 Foot 9" makes much more sense :kii:

Not surprisingly, sounds like a FGL song. Definitely has a good amount of steel guitar in it which I appreciated. Don’t really get the end goal of going solo for now but the song itself is good quality.

Don’t really get the end goal of going solo for now but the song itself is good quality. It seems to have less to do with any kind of goal and more to do with them not wanting to be around each other at this point. They’re not going to admit that but Brian going full MAGA and his looney wife supporting the insurrection seemed to turn Tyler away quite a bit.

I hope Tyler has success with his solo career. I liked FGL quite a bit, and it’s hard to see them getting back together when it seems the political landscape is what’s dividing them.

Lyrically this is a total dud, but musically it isn't terrible. I wouldn't seek it out, but I was expecting worse given the artist lol. I like Tyler Hubbard fine, but his voice is always going to be rough for me. With the right music I wouldn't necessarily be opposed... he'd be great at straight up country/rock music.

Since this will fall off the charts next week probably, what are the chances it ends up being a hit?

Since this will fall off the charts next week probably, what are the chances it ends up being a hit? I think radio is open to playing him as a solo artist, and he is well-respected. With the right song, I think he will have no trouble at all. This song is not any good though, so I hope the chances are low.

Does Hubbard have any creative music ever? This an old FGL song redone. No thanks.

It’s a pretty generic song but it’s miles better than a lot of the stuff he put out during his FGL days. I’ll take it. This has been moving up the charts pretty quickly (#21 on the airplay chart in its 8th week), and he’s opening for Keith Urban starting in September, so he’s going places as a solo artist. I’ll take him over Brian Kelley any day.
