Harry's House first impressions from a person who despises anything slower than 120bpm! I gave each song a listen up to at least the first chorus (if I could even tell what the chorus was, some of these have unusual song structures)

Boyfriends: Sounds like a church hymn. YAWN
Daydreaming: This is my favorite (other than As It Was)! Captivating & has a strange, memorable hook
Cinema: Nice groovy vibe, but too slow
Daylight & Grapejuice: These both strike a great alternative, LoFi feel
Late Night Talking: Kinda fun, I like the unique instrumental
Music For A Sushi Restaurant: This one's just weird

The other songs are unremarkable/not worth giving a 2nd listen IMO

OVERALL: Unless you have a taste for slow paced, this album's kinda meh. Unfortunately (as is the case for many albums), we already heard the best single: As It Was. I really appreciate Harry pushing music in an alternative direction, but I think the whole album would benefit from a 10% tempo increase (at least)

I know everyone is subjective and has different listening habits but like...if you're judging an album, isn't it easier to like just complete all the songs and listen passively than just skipping songs midway? The album isn't even that long - it's only 42 mins.

They only seem that way because of the billboard tracking delay. For me they all still seem fairly recent and have their strong moments in their own rights

Also I don’t think Harry will do a “Bad Bunny but in English” album bomb. I’m thinking he’ll fall in between Future and Kendrick honestly.

Harry’s album is really a mood. You have to sit with it for a little and you can get into it. Not really sure what the 2nd single is tho? I think “Daydreaming” is the most radio friendly but we’ll see what the streaming numbers reflect. So far it’s not looking like one of the most popular tracks. “Late Night Talking” is probably another radio friendly track as well.

I’m pretty sure Harry’s team is thinking longevity rather than accelerated/immediate success. His last era lasted an entire year and they were able to push multiple hit singles despite them being months old.

When this is released, Chicago will have an album released in 7 straight decades. The band still has 3 of its original members 55 years after formation. I saw them play in 2018, but would have loved to see them in their prime years when Terry Kath was alive.

It's a pretty good album but also lacking in terms of viable singles. Outside of "Late Night Talking," it's hard to say what will work.

I'm glad this month has been a bit of a clearing and forced recurrent for a lot of songs staying around due to the lull of Q1.
With Harry, not sure Post will be big but I'm sure he can retire a couple of songs and BTS coming this and next month it's right in time for the summer releases.

I think about 30 songs will go recurrent after this back to back melee of album bombs.
