Luke needs to send this to pop radio now before this loses momentum. I doubt they’ll send it so early. Wasted on You already hit #1 and they’re just now pushing it to pop radio. Let’s see a 20 weeks or less climb to #1 and then we’ll talk.

All i can think about when this song plays is how the guitar riff is the same guitar riff from Marco Antonio Solis' " Si No Te Hubieras Ido" (a superior song in every way but that's a different convo). Hope Marco comes for this mans coins for the thievery 🗣

It sounds more like a coincidence to me, lol. The intro to Marco's song is basically just a chord progression with very little else to embellish it, and the chances of another song using a similar chord progression are not exactly small. And I say "similar" chord progression because they are indeed not identical. I do not know what keys both of these songs are in, but playing around with the notes on a piano I can tell that Luke's descending melody in the second measure goes all the way down to a nice comfortable root of the chord, while Marco's descending melody in the second measure seems to go down to the root of a different chord...the root of the chord that Marco goes to is equivalent to only the 3rd of Luke's chord, giving it much more of a minor sound.
To put it another way, when the melody descends in the second measure, Luke's final note is 9 half-steps lower than the note it originally started on, while Marco's only descends 5 half-steps lower from its starting point.
Obviously the two intros are similar, but not similar enough to be theft considering that they are still completely different chord progressions.

I'm not being serious as i highly doubt Marco Antonio cares or is even at all aware of Luke's song. But, Marco is a living legend and that song was HUGE to the point that it is so easily recognizable just by that riff. They're similar enough to be discernible. Artists have gotten sued for plagiarism for way less in recent years so he'd have a case, even if just to make some noise, if he really wanted it tbh.

It feels like this is beginning to lose momentum and will peak on country radio really soon. I hope Luke’s team sends this one to a different format soon, so it can crossover and have some longevity. I hate to see this one go to waste.

It’s mostly based on the strength of its first week on radio. It was at 17/18M aud on kWorb radio after Week 1. It has pretty much fizzled out on there since (it still hasn’t cracked 22M kWorb aud), and has even lost ground to the songs ahead of it on country radio (like Kane Brown and Jake Owen). Good news is that the streaming numbers are really good (it is still Top 25 on Spotify and AM). Hopefully, that translates to regaining the momentum on country radio it had early on, but if not, maybe this could be sent to crossover.

Its bullet is still over 300 so I would hardly say this is fizzling out. Songs typically experience some "slowing" on the cusp of the Top 10 since songs in the Top 10 have higher rotations and it needs to be converted higher, but this will be just fine and as someone else pointed out, is shaping up to be another monster hit for Luke.

First off, the first week performance of this song has nothing to do with how it's performing now, that doesn't even make sense. The radio charts are a weekly chart, meaning each week it factors 7 days of airplay. Plus, country radio has become slower and slower with turnover recently. It's actually quite incredible that this is doing so well already, when the current #1 took 10 months to hit the top. Luke has had every single one of his singles reach #1, this isn't about to be his first to not reach that mark, especially when some of his other singles haven't had nearly as good streaming numbers. Please educate yourself on how things work before spewing random stuff out of thin air and posting it like it is factual.

The song has literally been on the charts for a month or so.

I would have never guessed that when Luke's album flopped, this song would be higher then every song on the Drake album 7 weeks in (Jimmy Cooks is the highest charting one at #20). This one has held incredibly well, especially on streaming. When FAA was 7 weeks in, it was near the bottom of the Hot 100 (it would bottom out in Week 8).

Because FAA didn't impact radio till March (he had Better Together on radio at that time), but this song impacts radio from the get-go? It isn't that difficult to explain.

I know, I’m just surprised at how well this is holding on streaming/sales. I thought it would fall back a bit on streaming and be around #30 on the Hot 100 in Week 7. I never thought this would be #14, especially with a major album in Beyoncé. This is going to the Top 10 for sure.

The album only did 74k first week and dropped out of the Top 10 in its 2nd week. If you don’t want to call it a flop, then at least agree with me that it was an underperformance, considering his last album did six figures and this one was expected to do the same. I really have nothing against this song. In fact, I’m rooting for it to reach the Top 10 (it would have already on album release week if the album didn’t underperform).

Except when you compare those stats to what his contemporaries are doing right now, you'll realize he actually had the best country album opening week of 2022 thus far. So, to call it a flop or even an underperformance, is to completely ignore the current sales/streaming landscape. The fact is that he had a great opening week in the context of what is realistic in 2022. Growin' Up is currently sitting pretty at #3 on the country albums chart, behind only Morgan Wallen's double album (an outlier behemoth that is currently breaking all of the current norms for country acts sales/streams figures) and Zach Bryan's big triple-length album, and "The Kind of Love We Make" returned to #1 on the Hot Country Songs chart this week, which is not an easy task as it snuck ahead of two of Morgan Wallen's tracks. The reality is that expectations have to be lowered at this point, because he was never expected to pull six figures with the debut of this record. You can call the album a flop if it makes you feel better, but you're definitely off base in doing so.

Do we know if Luke is maxing before Cole? Assuming Cole will be at the top for like 3 weeks... A radio station posted “dig it or dump it” for Outrunnin’ Your Memory so looks like that might be next.

Passes Cole Swindell on the ruling MB chart today so likely this will be number 1 this week.
I think there's a good chance "Going, Going, Gone" is the next single.

Was this maxing this week? Cause if it’s done after this week shouldn’t it have the settle for a MB #1, since I doubt he got in front of Cole on BB this week.

Would be crazy if this didn't go #1 on BB cause not only does that snap his streak, but it's also been one of his biggest hits.
