Sorry I missed last night's reveals. I'm just gonna go ahead and squeeze this in here, cuz where else? Anyway, Berlin couldn't put up a bigger word wall then this. 40. Put the Gun Down - ZZ WardGreat way to start off the top 40, tho I don't understand why so low compared to my rank. This rocks proper. 39. New - Paul McCartneyWhen he isn't teaming up with Chris Borwn or Rihanna or whoever Paul has a flaire to write a super cathcy Pop song. I also gave this one top 10 action along with the Stones. 38. Come Along - Vicci Martinez f/ CeeLo GreenSurprisingly good first listen. Didn't expect much but the backing guitars sound alot like Mike Campbell. Didn't care for the male parts, but Vicci sounded great. I wpuld have ranked it much higher without Ceelo Green. 37. Shake - The Head and the HeartDon't get the appeal for this band at all. Nice to see another bottom 10 of mine fall. 36. 1957 - Milo Greene The melody and feel of the song were aesthetic as can be. Very pelasant. I would have given top 40 without that guy's vocals getting in the way. 35. Madness - MuseI love "Madness" , but not nearly as much as I did back then, and it is also way out of its league on this format. Funny enough listening to it now this song might have been the start of the band's downfall? 34. Time to Run - Lord HuronSomething about the appeal of this band lies a lot on thier retro sound. The last song we ranked by them ended way up in my top 5. This one here also had a nice guitarworks. 33. Little Numbers - BOYI was surprised to see this one appear here. This was one of those songs I also charted. The chorus is a bop. 32. Hero - Family of the YearA song I will cosistantly tank year after year. Just too too much Folk vibe for me to handle. 31. Stars - Grace Potter & The Nocturnalsrather uneventful for this band. I usually give them really high ranks. Still not a bad song. 30. Atlas - ColdplayThis is borderline passable for Coldplay and parts of it have that Coldplay Epicness , but This band has been constantly boring me for years now. 29. Out of My League - Fitz and the TantrumsThis was the funnest song I had heard in years when it first cam out. Only K-Pop can be this much fun and still find a way onto my charts, but this was a bop and half. I was already on a Fitz and Tantruma high from "MoneyGrabber" and I loved Fitz's tones. I see it didn't many real low votes, but we sould have collectively taken this top 10. I was a gonner form the moment I saw it on the list. It was after all my crown song of the year. 28. Royals - LordeEasily anchors my top 10. Some pop songs hold up nicely through the years. I think this is surely one of them. It's always ridden on a simple percussion but that actually gives it strength. The beautiful harmony in the chorus is what got into Lorde's in the first place. Two ALT/POP classics side by side missing the top 25. Only on a PULSE AAA RD. 27. Hang Loose - Alabama ShakesI'm not a fan of "jane" Alabama vocal tones, but at least they tried to entice me with guitars. 26. The Ceiling - The Wild FeathersNothing too wild about these feathers. The music is ok. My biggest issue with these type of AAA songs are really just the vocals. Too many guys singing at one time really doesn't sound that pleasant to me unless they are backups in a hard Rock chorus, and you know what I mean? Still trying to wrap my head around #'s 29 and 28 showing up this early. EXTRAS:Man - Neko CaseReally digging this one. Nice to see that this Altrock style is becoming more popular on AAA these days. lay that guitar solo on me. Take My Love With You - Bonnie RaittBonnie's pleasant style vocals are quite nice. Beautiful lyrics riding on a beautiful melody. Give me love over death any day. Say the Words - SatelliteHis vocals reminded me of another singer. Forget his name, but this song reminded me of early Coldplay. early 2000's TBH. bands like Nine Days, Third Eye Blind, Dexter Freebish, Stroke 9. I always dug that sound. Loved the lyrics too. Rebel Beat - The Goo Goo DollsHey I charted this one. I was excited to see they released new music that basically sounded like them while riding the indiepop wave. I think they did alright with this one.

25: Oooh okay, Top 25 time now and yayy I finally got rid of my #81 of "King and Lionheart." Didn't really care too much for this so I'm pleased with this showing up now. 24: Whoaa at this being the 6th highest SD. And lmao wow these stats are all over the place here, lol. Oooh "Diane Young" is it and this was my #57. Again, pretty content and fine with this song showing up here. This was a song I was familiar with and thought I would have had much higher but I guess I didn't liked it as much as I thought lol. 23: Oooh yayy a song that I help drop from #48 to #55, so hopefully one of my lower ranks. Oooh yay my #74 of "Tightrope." With this being from Walk the Moon and me liking a number of their songs, I thought I would have liked this more but then that didn't end up happening. 22: Interesting seeing "The One That Got Away" that got the 20th highest SD, and this is also my #49. I didn't mind this song but am cool with it showing up now. 21: Ahh I think my #26 of "Ain't Messin 'Round" is probably one of my higher remaining songs left here. I liked this so I wish this could have ranked a little higher up. This was an enjoyable song from Gary Clark Jr. 20: Ooh dear, a song that I helped move up from #8 to #6, so a bit worried what this could be. Oooh wow it's my #61 of "Unbelievers." Definitely fine with this showing up as I feared it would be one of my higher ranks. 19: Oooh I forgot that I ranked "From a Window Seat" at #45, as I thought I ranked this higher as I found myself enjoying this. But maybe I was thinking wrong and didn't like it as much as I thought? Fine with this ranking. 18: Hmmm a song that I kept staying at #3. Oooh 14th highest SD is really interesting. Oooh ok, this is my #59 of "Tell Me a Tale," which I am fine with showing up at this point as this was just alright for me. 17: Interesting how my #86 of "Purple Yellow Red and Blue" has the 10th highest SD. Didn't really care for this so I'm glad this has showed up now. 16: Hmm a song that I kept stuck at #13.... curious on what this could be. Oooh ok, it's my #51 of "Where Are We Now?" but yeah I'm good with this showing up now too. 15: Interesting seeing back to back David Bowie here, this time with my #89 of "The Stars (Are Out Tonight)." I wish the other Bowie song was ranked higher but oh well. Pleased with this showing up. Although uhhh when are my Bottom 10s going to be revealed? I haven't lost any of this set yet. 14: Oooh this was a song I helped drop a spot from #27 to #28. Oooh it's "Shot at the Night," which is my #67 where I was also the lowest rank. I wasn't expecting that but i'll take it. Interesting how this was also the 11th lowest SD too. 13: Oooh wow, my #19 of "Safe and Sound." This was one of the songs I felt most and really familiar with. It's a fun and enjoyable song. I like the fun uptempo sound of it. I still would have preferred more of my lower ranks to show up but I'm ok with this showing up. Wow these rankings are all over the place. 12: Oooh a song I dropped from #15 to #23, which is my #82 of "Trojans." Lmao oh wow, I'm also the lowest ranking of this but yay at least I got this revealed now haha. Didn't really care for this, sadly. 11: Whoaa at a song I helped drop from #6 to #17. Please let this be one of my Bottom 10s! Omgg yes finallly one of them shows up.... my #95 of "Supersoaker." I was expecting to like this as I like some other Kings of Leon songs but I sadly just didn't care for this. Oooh interesting how this got the 16th lowest SD. Of the extras, I really love "Get Lucky," which would have been somewhere in my Top 5! LMAOO now I'm back to being the lowest rankdown closeness as I was totally expecting. LMAOOO my remaining ranks average being 60.1.... and then I still got 3 Bottom 10s remaining. Wow and my #99 is still in there. omgg has anyone ever done this terribly? Ooof, only two songs in my Top 40 are still left. SO yeah I'm rooting for either my #2 or #15, though I don't think either has a shot of winning but I'll still keep fingers crossed for them.

#29: I hate the direction Fitz has gone down, but this remains the single best thing they ever did. The correct answer is MoneyGrabber. Given that that song is or was going to eventually be in a rankdown of mine, I can't say I disagree, really. I just have more nostalgia and care a little bit more about "Out of My League" personally. {THE HEARTACHE BEFORE THE TOP TEN}#25: I don't know whether or not "Little Talks" will do better than "Mountain Sound", but I think we got the order right overall with the singles from their debut either way. #24: I would have been a little surprised that this wasn't the higher VW song if I didn't know that tank was coming. #23: ngl, I thought this was going to be top ten fairly easily, and I'm kind of glad it's not. But yeah, I do like it more than "Anna Sun". #22: This one snuck up on me and stuck with me after listening to it. Really good stuff. #21: It may have technically been one of my lowest remaining, but to see it doing that well at times is still really cool. #20: Not one of my absolute favorite songs on Modern Vampires, but a good single choice and still a good song all the same. #19: Deservedly their best performer. #18: I would not describe this song as "so, so hot", but this was my favorite first listen. It feels like this area is where his best songs end up, and while it kind of sucks that he hasn't made the top ten, I'm still content with top 20 for this. #17: Here's another song that I thought had a good shout for top ten. #16/15: Fuuuuuck, I knew this was coming before the top ten, and it still hurts. It especially hurts seeing them in the top ten so late, and it ESPECIALLY hurts with "The Stars", which would have been his late-career peak if not for what followed. #14: I was just about to single this out finally, especially after the Bowie songs dropped. This is a bog standard Killers song. #13: I am stunned this was so close to making the top ten, I thought it would get tanked way more. I'm still a fan, though it has grown off of me a bit over time. #12: "If So" beat it?!?!?! Whoa! #11: This has held up remarkably well. It's not the best song from this album, and I'm a little glad it's the only song from this album to make the top ten in AAA, but this is a pretty solid second. My #1 made the top ten, and that's probably the song I've rooted for the hardest in a rankdown in a looooong time, so I'm content.
