Here is where things get even more interesting. No Mercy's 1st actual single was a cover of "Missing" which was not issued in the U.S.



"Where Do You Go" is a partial cover of a La Bouche album track.



A remix version of No Mercy's recording of it also incorporates some of La Bouche's vocals onto it.

"Where Do You Go" is structured in a way that is similar to the Todd Terry remix of "Missing". Even that beatless part with the repeat of the 1st verse as a 'bridge' has the same kind of pads as "Missing."

The drums in both songs are actually sampled from the song "Love & Happiness" by River Ocean from this specific remix. Many, many other records used that same drum loop, most likely from the EBTG arrangement of it as the beats were issued on some editions of the single.

5: With "Closing Time" being my #8, I'm fine with this showing up in this spot. Would have preferred it to be my #44 but I'll take it. This is a great and modern classic song that I do love from Semisonic. Not surprised that it has the lowest 14th-Lowest SD, though I could have seen it in the Top 10 in that front. Very shocked about the #54 rank but yay for 19 Top 10 rankings!

4: Ahh dangg, the lowest rank for this is #39 meaning that my #44 made it to the Top 3 and breaking up my flawless Top 3. So sad. Impressive seeing that this song was always in the Top 10 throughout the lists porcess. Ughhh noooo, it's my #1 of "Lovefool." Really love and adore this song and very happy to see it making it this far! I'm sad it missed out making the Top 3 but again happy it made it this far. This is so cute, fun, catchy and always makes me happy. Such a great pop song! Nicee at 4 #1s and 19 Top 10s! Happy this didn't have any rankings outside of the Top 40. And oooo I also liked their "My Favourite Thing" song too.

3: Hmmm #45 as the lowest rank? I'm hopeful this could be my #44.... fingers crossed. Oooof, darn it's my #3 of "Bitter Sweet Symphony." Sad to see this missing the Top 2, but also very happy to get a perfect rank here too. Another great classic 90s song and one that I do really love from The Verve. Such a great and enjoyable song! Yay for 3 #1s and 19 Top 10 rankings. Wow so many #3 and #4 ranks here.... 5 of them each.

2: Oooh noooo, sad that "Criminal" couldn't have pulled through with winning here. Really love this song and think it's a fantastic and chill song from Fiona Apple. It's easily my favorite of hers. I just love the sound and vibe of this song so much. Wow at 5 #2s. Well, at least I got another perfect rank as this was my #2. Yayy for 21 Top 10 ranks here!

1: Ughhh, this was such a disappointment for me with "Missing" winning. I was doing SO well all throughout the game with my like all of Top 10 making the Top 30 and I think 7 of my Top 10 songs making it to the Top 10. This was my #44 and by far my lowest rank of the Top 10 so this winning.... I feel so out of touch here, lmaoo. This is a fine and decent enough song but just never been a song I cared that much for. I get those that love it and clearly many people do.... and of course that's fine. Just wish a song I love could have won. LMAOOO not me being the only one to rank this below the Top 35.

For those EBtG fans or for those How I Met Your Mother fans, I always thought their version of Downtown Train was another great version (there are many) and of course it's use in the devastating for some (hated by many) series finale of HIMYM is quite memorable.  I'll spare you the clip of the HIMYM finale, as it may induce PTSD for some but here is their version of Downtown Train.

wish I had gotten a list in. That said wow at "Missing" winning. I like the song so it likely would have been in my top half but still probably in the lower end of my top half. Just not a song I expected to be this well liked. Both "Closing Time" and "Bitter Sweet Symphony" would have been preferable winners to me, with "Criminal" being up there as well, all songs I would have easily ranked in my Top 5/10.

Look forward to the next set so I can make sure to get a list in and not miss out again lol

Was really hoping for "Bitter Sweet Symphony" to pull off that win. I figured it was the only one in my top ten that had any realistic chance. "Missing" is a nice listen, but it always felt like something is, uh...missing. Don't know what other wording to use for that, lol. I had no idea it got this much love, or that I would be among the five lowest ranks for both the top 2. Oh, well. Thanks for hosting!
