Holy crap, how is it the single art is somehow more metal than the album cover?

My 3 and 4 are effectively tied, so I gave "Metal Militia" #3, because I 100% knew it would need help more.
I wish I liked "Jump in the Fire" more. It's just...kinda mid?

Hit The Lights may still be one of my favorite Metallica songs, which is fitting considering it's the song that got them noticed in the first place

Well…things escalated quickly, didn’t they?
When we last left the boys, they’d just signed with Megaforce Records and already had to kick two of their original bandmates before recording (although Dave Mustaine received writing and composition credits for the title track and The Call of Ktulu). After Kill ‘Em All, they were a more tight, cohesive unit.
Metallica began working on the songs for their second album as soon as they returned from tour with Raven in September 1983. Their practice sessions were private, with the band writing in a garage-turned-studio, affectionately dubbed the ‘Metallimansion’, located north of San Francisco, in El Cerrito, California. It was a big showcase for new bassist Cliff Burton, who took his inspirations of Frank Zappa, Lynyrd Skynyrd and classical music to bring Metallica to a new level. "We would never have become the band we were without him.” Lars Ulrich said. Not to say the other bandmates didn’t pull their weight either: Kirk Hammett had actually been taking lessons from virtuoso guitarist Joe Satriani of Deep Purple fame, and Hetfield and Ulrich strived to balance high-velocity tempos with new musical virtuosity. Ride The Lighting was recorded over the space of three weeks, from February 20 to March 14, 1984, at Sweet Silence studio in Copenhagen, Denmark with producer Flemming Rasmussen, which was actually much cheaper than any California recording studio at the time. Rasmussen, alongside drum roadie Flemming Larsen, also gave Ulrich a crash course in basic drumming
Returning to the U.S. after their first major European tour (which actually took place before the album was released. Live shows were where they tested out new material), it embarked upon a tour co-headlining with W.A.S.P. and supported by Armored Saint. Metallica played its largest show at the Monsters of Rock festival at Donington Park, England, on August 17, 1985, with Bon Jovi and Ratt. It was a concert for this album where Michael Alago, A&R director Elektra Records, and Cliff Burnstein, co-founder of Q-Prime Management, discovered them. They signed Metallica to Elektra, and made the band a client of Q-Prime Management. During the deluxe releases, two covers originally on Kill ‘Em All, Am I Evil? and Blitzkrieg, would be re-released, hence why we’re ranking them here and not in the Kill ‘Em All RD.
Taking inspiration from the Stephen King novel, The Stand, for the album name and cover, Ride the Lightning was out on July 27 - a year and two days after their debut!. Ride the Lightning initially sold 75,000 copies in US and in 2012 was certified 6× platinum. It’s considered not only one of the best albums of the 80s, but one of the best metal albums of all time.
Tracklist: Fight Fire With Fire Ride the Lightning For Whom the Bell Tolls Fade to Black Trapped Under Ice Escape Creeping Death Call of Ktulu Am I Evil? Blitzkrieg

Is the playlist going to have the two additional songs added to it? The Elektra tracklist has too many songs which is why I didn't post it so please remember to send your lists with the covers of Am I Evil? and Blitzkrieg
