I'm asking for those alive and old enough to remember these songs in the 90s, which of the songs felt the hugest to you in the 90s and which ones didn't. I want everyone to ignore how much a song sold, ignore the weeks at #1, ignore all of the stats I just want to know your personal experience and what you felt based off of you.
Also, which ones didn't feel as huge.

Although I wasn't alive for most of the 90s, I would say the biggest/most memorable song on this list IMO is "Smooth."

Definitely the Macarena for sure!!! Everybody was dancing to that song, even a few years later, it was still stuck on people's minds. I was in elementary school throughout the 90s.
All the Boyz II Men songs felt pretty huge as well, especially "One Sweet Day" and "End of The Road". I still hear "One Sweet Day" on the radio to this day.
I remember watching The Boy Is Mine video alot on Vh-1. "I'll Be Missing You" only felt popular for one year and that was it. I remember when they performed it the MTV Music Awards. I could not watch the whole show since it was, of course, on a school night, but the highlights for me from that show were Janet in the burgundy top and skirt, the Spice Girls, Madonna paying respect to Princess Diana, and Lil Kim', Missy, Da Brat, and Left Eye.

I never really watched the Grammys that much in the 90s. I only remember that I started to watch it in the early 2000s, like around 2001.

The year of Toni B and that dress...so stunning.

For the ones I remember (i started following charts and music in 1994), they were all fairly major to some degree. Unbreak My Heart didnβt seem to have the level of impact that Iβll Be Missing You had, for example, but it was a big radio bit whereas IBMY wasnβt on the radio - as much, from what I remember (where I was anyway). Candle in the wind was massive and felt it, but that was short lived. Once that hype/novelty wore off after a month or so, the continued success of the single felt residual and everyone had more or less moved on - but it also wasnβt a big radio hit and radio was probably the most important and effective way to hear music at the time so if it didnβt have radio support, and it didnβt have MTV or MuchMusic, it didnβt feel big. CITW benefitted mostly from non-traditional coverage and availability.

The Macarena was definitely a phenomenon, and its presence was felt everywhere.

We can apparently only choose one? If you want to know which felt biggest, we should get to choose more options.
These all felt big to me: End of the Road One Sweet Day Macarena I'll Be Missing You The Boy is Mine Smooth
The others made a mark, too, they just weren't ones I heard discussed as much.

Macarena was probably the biggest, although Smooth was huge too and I do prefer Smooth over Macarena.

I voted for Smooth, personally, which felt huge and I think still holds up today. The Macarena was more of a camp novelty hit to me that had a shorter shelf life. I actually don't know many people who still play the song to the day. It's sort of like comparing Hanson's Mmm Bop to LeAnn Rhimes How Do I Live. Both were big but for different reasons.

From the topic post: "I'm asking for those alive and old enough to remember these songs in the 90s, which of the songs felt the hugest to you in the 90s and which ones didn't."

"Smooth," "One Sweet Day," and "End of the Road" felt massive back then.
"The Boys is Mine," "Candle in the Wind 1997"/"Something About the Way You Look Tonight," and "I'll Make Love to You" didn't.

"Macarena" was definitely extremely huge. I didn't listen to pop music at the time, but even I and everyone I knew were familiar with the "Macarena."
