Bad Habit should pick up steam on radio very soon. It’s charting on 6 formats and about to reach top 10 on pop radio (only being blocked by large spin gaps in the top 10).

Don’t forget about the website sales. The 22k figure seems very low and pretty much impossible. HMC had ~3300 copies on digital sales alone yesterday (on day 5 of the tracking period). Multiplying that number by 7 gives us over 23k already. And the sales figures were probably higher on day 1-4. I’d be shocked if HMC’s final sales figures come in below 35k.

Artists aside, “Stay” is simply a really good Pop song. Great melody, simple lyrics most listeners resonate with. And it flexed its muscles despite only being a Kid Laroi song. In my opinion, ear candy can’t be overplayed. It’s just that good.

Yeah 22k seems a bit low. It sold 6,800 copies it’s first day out according to estimates.

It’s doing well on radio, which is important for it to stick around. Also, don’t forget that Cold Heart had a gap between its debut and 2nd week, and is about to complete a 52-week run on the Hot 100. (Remember, a lot of people thought Cold Heart would be a one-weeker on its debut week). Hold Me Closer will be fine in the long run.

To be fair, pop songs rarely do that well on Apple Music, especially out of the gate, and it hasn't gotten the playlisting that other songs have gotten, so for a first week with no music video, I'd say Top 20-30 on US Spotify (~500k/per day) is still pretty great.

The jury's still out on longterm but I don't see anything that suggests it won't stick around. Radio has been on board so far too, we'll see how far they take it.

With Kworb dead, there's no way to estimate sales for the #1 anymore. DSD and LPB are not accurate. They say it increased in sales yet it's freefalling on streaming platforms so that is highly unlikely.

The only thing you can compare it to is the fact that it went #1 on iTunes in less than 2 hours. This is comparable to Super Freaky Girl and Yet To Come which did a little under 20K with a single version at #1

Winston's sales and streaming numbers are made up and not from Luminate... if they were, his final predictions' numbers would be more accurate for sales but they are way off

It's currently #50 at Top 40 radio via Mediabase, so it's likely it hovers around there and on the days it falls below #50 is 'loses' that format.

chartdata is saying Hold Me Closer has sold over 100K units which means it's very likely top 10.

I think it's done HUGE sales like phieagles has said (~40K for the week?), which explains why it's challenging for #1 in Australia despite flopping on Spotify (like finishing out of the top 10 for the week). Sales are probably huge everywhere.
