Anyone have all the weekly US numbers for midnights since the release? Midnights US Chart Run: 1 - 1 - 2 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 3 - 2 - SPS Units Breakdown: Week 1 - (#1) - 1,578,000 Week 2 - (#1) - 342,000 Week 3 - (#2) - 299,000 Week 4 - (#1) - 204,000 Week 5 - (#1) - 177,000 Week 6 - (#1) - 151,000 Week 7 - (#2) - 143,000 Week 8 - (#2) - 139,000 Week 9 - (#2) - 155,000 Week 10 - (#2) - 106,000 Week 11 - (#2) - 117,000 Week 12 - (#2) - 81,000 Week 13 - (#2) - 73,000 Week 14 - (#2) - 67,000 Week 15 - (#3) - 68,000 Week 16 - (#2) - 62,000 kind of ironic that after declining for a couple weeks, Midnights gained in the latest tracking week (albeit only 1k units) but fell to #3 for the first time -- due to the No. 1 debut from TxT. predicted to rebound to #2 this week, though SZA's got a lead of over 30k units. Thank you. Shouldn't this be nearly 4x platinum at this point?

Longest running Taylor's singles inside Pop Radio's Top 10 1. You Belong With Me: 18 weeks 2. I Knew You Were Trouble/Blank Space: 16 weeks 3. Shake It Off/I Don't Wanna Live Forever: 15 weeks 4. Bad Blood: 14 weeks 5. Love Story: 13 weeks 6. Style/Wildest Dreams/Delicate: 12 weeks 7. We Are Never Getting Back Together: 11 weeks 8. Look What You Made Me Do/ME!: 8 weeks 9. You Need To Calm Down: 7 weeks 10. Teardrops On My Guitar: 5 weeks 11. End Game: 2 weeks 12. 22: 1 week Anti-Hero is at 14 weeks so far. Does anyone know if 16 weeks is possible? Not bad for a song pop radio dropped like a rock

People overrate/build up Hits Different a bit too much. Most of the song is like two chords over and over again and you can tell she wrote it very quickly. “Don’t need another metaphor it’s simple enough” lol. You’re gonna be disappointed by building it up so much or waiting potentially several more months imo.
It sounds like the brightness of the song Paris and, like, a Michelle Branch song. It’s pretty clear why it was a bonus track.

"Hits Different" feels like '1989' era Taylor for me so I love the nostalgic feel of it. It's one of the more upbeat songs on the album which I appreciate.

People whose opinions differ slightly from mine are wrong. You are correct. It is also correct to mention that it’s mostly like a two-chord song and that it sounds like if a Michelle Branch song was put on 1989.

It's one of the strongest songs lyrically on the album. The lyrics are funny but at the same time heartbreaking and relatable. The bridge especially pays off.

I would say "Hits Different" is an okay TS tune. I do prefer it to atrocities on the standard album like Karma, Vigilante Sh*t, Bejeweled and whatnot. I think the Paris comparison is apt – it sounds like a less interesting version of that. if you put Paris and Message in a Bottle in a blender or something.
So if that sounds like something you'll like, or if our tastes are not compatible and you LOVE Karma, Vigilante, and Bejeweled, maybe Hits Different will actually be a highlight for you. Otherwise I would err on the side of caution and keep expectations medium-low.

"Hits Different" is an amazing song. Classic Pop Taylor. I can see why it was left off the standard track listing, though, since it doesn't really fit the vibe of the album despite being better than most of the other tracks.

I can see why some people love, "Hit's Different." I can see why some people can think it's middle of the road. And I can see how some people might actually dislike it.
What's so funny to see is how some people think only their opinion is right.

What's so funny to see is how some people think only their opinion is right. You’re so enlightened, coming to a message board where people post their opinions, and going “actually everyone’s opinions are right!!!11” Next I’m sure you’ll remind us to share and to use please and thank you. May I remind you, we’re talking about expectations for a song that people are waiting months upon months to let themselves hear. A song that *IS* out — it’s not “unreleased”, it’s not a leak to listen to it. It’s just not on Streaming. And there are plenty of people claiming it’s one of their faves or even that it could be a single. So, sorry, Mr. Arbiter-of-what’s-a-useful-discussion-to-have, it actually is a decent conversation worth having even if you don’t think it is or disagree (!!!!?!?!?!). Anyway, as @kimberly put it, keeping expectations medium-low feels right for that song. It’s good. It’s enjoyable. It’s not mind-blowing, and when Midnights first came out it did get a little bit overrated by everyone just because it feels like a nice palate cleanser to the rest of Midnights with its brightness. But if you’re waiting a literal indefinite period of time of months and months to listen to some amazing highlight, it’s probably best to reign in your expectations.

You can dislike it or love it or hate it. You can say it's a Michelle Branch song (I don't know what that means but you felt like you needed to say it twice). You can think people are overrating it. Totally fine. I'm just letting you know that the way you sometimes speak to people comes off arrogant. That may not be how you are and that may not be your intention but that is the vibe you give off.

I like Karma and Bejeweled, and could definitely take or leave Hits Different. Honestly based on the praise here I was expecting to like it a lot more, haha. I definitely agree with your Paris+Message in a Bottle in a blender analogy though (although I tend to like those songs individually much more than I liked HD, too).

Ooo that is a tricky one
I’m gonna say:
Message In A Bottle > Paris > Hits Different

Those two tracks are instant skips for me. Not a fan of Paris either though. Hits Different and Message in a Bottle are both ok tracks for me. As someone mentioned, more classic Pop Taylor, which I prefer.

Some may say that the Anti-Hero and Lavender Haze remixes are hints of what TS11 might sound like
