This feels more like single #4 or 5 to me. It’s radio friendly enough and kind of catchy, but doesn’t move the needle a whole lot. I think they should be swinging harder coming off of a well-received lead single. I would have preferred “Raincheck”or “Workin’ On A New One”. “Smokin’ A Doobie” is great too but probably too risky with radio.

They are just mirroring California Sunrise's single choices. First Last Night Lonely to Night Shift. Now this to Dirt On My Boots.

Yeah but maybe I wasn't using the best words. I mean songs that sound like California Sunrise's singles, not necessary in the exact order.

The album is great but I’m guessing they know the radio options are limited. Not that they haven’t released semi-risky things in the past (“Head Over Boots” at the time, and “She Ain’t in It”) but these songs are radio unfriendly in a different way. They are very country bar honky tonk. “Smokin’ a Doobie” and “Reverse Cowgirl” are probably the most radio friendly sonically but lyrically they would never be pushed.
I bet after this one they release a deluxe album and push the Luke Bryan feature as a single.

This is fine for what it is and will be another top 5 for him, easy. I like it, but definitely don't love it.
I'm just holding out hope that maybe they mirror his last era and we get "Reverse Cowgirl" as a risky late-era single similar to "She Ain't in It." It's just too damn good to remain a deep cut imo. It also follows the popular country music trend of having an invisible comma in the hook, so maybe there's hope it'll work, and even if it flops, maybe it won't do anything to his radio momentum (like "Ain't" didn't).

“Santa Cruz” and “Hung the Moon” feel like single candidates after “Your Heart or Mine.”
“Raincheck” is phenomenal but I’m not going to hold my breath there since it’s more risky.

“Reverse Cowgirl” is my choice but I think the title may take it out of serious consideration.

I didn't think "She Ain't In it" would see the light of day at radio and it somehow did, so I'm going to hold out hope for "Raincheck", which is far and away the best song on the album. I'd be happy with either of the choices you mentioned though, the latter of which gives me real Montgomery Gentry vibes. "Your Heart of Mine" is a disappointing choice though. I like it fine enough, but it's clearly attempting to be "Dirt On My Boots"2.0, which is probably my least favorite Pardi single to date.

Enters the Top 40 on Billboard Country Airplay 15 weeks into it's chart climb. Not a bad pace for this song and it has made it into the Top 40 on the Hot Country Songs chart.

Enters the Top 30 on Mediabase at #29 with a bullet of 140. Not an amazing pace, but still solid as this should start to really gain traction now that it's in the Top 30.

Enters the Top 20 on Billboard at #19 after 29 weeks on the airplay chart. Definitely think this is a future Top 5 if not #1.

Feel like this is doing nothing for his career. It’ll be a top 5 radio song then forgotten after. His songs from California Sunrise had so much more energy to them, and it feels like they’re just releasing safe filler songs. There were a lot better options on the album than this one.

I do think "Last Night Lonely" was a really great single choice (made year end Hot 100, and made it to #27 on the Hot 100) but while I did say this will make the Top 5 and maybe even #1 this is such a safe single choice that feels very been there done that whenever I hear it on the radio.

I agree I think this won’t do much for his career but it’ll get him another number one but might be like “At the end of a bar” and “7500 obo” with not much recurrent airplay or remembrance.

Taking half a year for this to crack top 20 at this stage in Jon Pardi's career and for a second single that's pretty radio-friendly is not very good. Agree with others above that this probably goes top 5 and possibly even #1, but this was a filler single choice and he needs something that's gonna stand out and move the needle more. I keep forgetting this is even out there. Just a very MOR song.

Judging by the CCUSA co host schedule, it’s looks like “Your Heart or Mine” will be going for Max Spins From August 18 to August 27.
