I will rank Make a Picture much higher in the 2022 RD, but this wasn't it.

Paul Thorn is the first artist with multiple songs to be eliminate from the rankdown. IMO the rock tune helps to make the song not as sleepy as the other one, but his songwriting is so trite that I wish other artists would have multiple songs here instead.

Does this cover really deserve two top 10s?

This was one of planned song for my personal rankdown (eventually I used Colors from the same album). Doesn't look like to make huge difference anyway. What can I say, I actually like the pop beats and orchestra here a lot. Always bring a joyful mood to me. At least it escaped bottom 10 .

it's unfortunate this song has a somewhat annoying repetitive marching drum like drum pattern. Otherwise I think this could end up higher. Also new album coming February 24th next year.

I still hold the unpopular opinion that this is better than his group's hit that year. 1 rank drop from 2021 AAA rankdown.

I didn’t take a stab at the pre-reveal questions because I went into this rather unsure as to how things were going to play out and I truly didn’t even know where to start lol. That said, I seem to be off to a decent start as six of my bottom 10 songs exited including my last place.
Speaking of….“Turn Me Loose (I’ll Never Be the Same)” was one of the few songs to always remain down inside my bottom five with each subsequent edit I made. If I’m correct, it was also my initial song to be slotted in last place after I went through the first time using the preference revealer. Given that, I wasn’t surprised to see it be the first song on the outs.
While I’ve liked most of Langhorne Slim’s previous material, “Mighty Soul” just didn’t quite connect with me the way I was hoping it might. I probably just need to sit down and revisit his last album. I’ve had the chance to see him in concert a couple of times (once as an opener and another with just himself) and he’s always a joy.
The only disappointment for me was losing “Redemption” as I had placed it just outside of my top ten. While I’ve been a fan of Nathaniel Rateliff’s for a couple of years now, it wasn’t until this past fall that I finally got to see him live with the Night Sweats that I finally understood what makes him (and them!) so great. It truly was an experience and I will for sure be keeping an eye on whenever his next tour comes around. But yea, I'm even a bigger fan now after seeing him live.

Would say that Hayes Carll is an artist I'm generally a pretty big fan of but I do not think "You Get It All" is one of his finer songs. Nathaniel Ratliff is also someone I've liked some of his work i've been previously exposed to but I wasn't really big on either of his songs for this countdown. (although would put "Survivor" a fair amount ahead of "Redemption" so happy that that that seems to be agreed on)
the two highest placing songs on mine gone are both the Paul Thorn songs. I guess I can see why some may not like his voice but I was fond of the kinda lovestruck lyrics on both tracks.
also wasn't big on this particular Todd Snider track, but another artist I'm somewhat familiar with who's done some stuff I like. So Even tho I'm not surprised the song placed low, I'm kinda amused that it was in last by such a significant margin.

Son of Ry Cooder. Maybe being a known percussionist is why the percussion of this song pops for me, despite the straight-forward almost bluegrass-ish melody.

Improvement of 8 spots from 2021 AAA rankdown. At least Valerie June is not the first artist with multiple songs to be eliminated entirely from the rankdown.

This is not a cover of Willie Nelson's song, despite the excessive covers that appeared in this rankdown. I think this would perform better if that's the case, though.

I think how you perceive this song depends on whether you like the trombone solo and socially charged lyrics. You know my answer now.
