I felt like with “Coconuts” she had a good catchy pop song but then she released this slut music and I feel like no one else but gay men listen to her. She also cant dance. Will she ever be a star like Britney?

Anyway, to answer the question in the title, Kim Peters is a nobody. Kim Petras, on the other hand, will likely always remain a staple in the LGBT community, but that's probably it. And no, not because of her "slut music," but because the industry isn't quite ready for its first trans pop star, unfortunately. The barriers she's having to face are enormous, but she is becoming a bonafide trailblazer in that sense. I can't think of any other trans musicians as popular as she is.

Her music in general is not on par with what appeals to the general, straight masses.

Maybe there’s no intention to be an artist for the masses. I feel like that’s less and less a priority for artists, possibly due to lack of desire or interest, or maybe more that they know it’s likely unattainable without having to water down their sound and image so they don’t bother and instead focus on specific audience demographics.

You are probably right. I think she’s accepted her place and that she won’t be a real bonfire star, and maybe that was always her goal

Her debut album, Clarity, was released independently; she was signed by Republic Records in 2021. "Slut Pop" was just an EP. She literally hasn't made a major label debut record yet.

It's too early to tell if she can or can't be a big pop star, because she hasn't even released the kind of project that would cement that status. She's actually quite early into her career, despite being age 30.

Yeah I feel they just need the right hit and she's taking off. But, she's built up a cult fanbase so far into her career.

Robyn completely reset the pop star template. She showed that you could be a successful, indie-minded pop star by cultivating a devoted fanbase, maintaining a mid-tier profile and a strong critical following. And she managed to do that outside of the charts for the most part and independently. Pre-Body Talk, artists like Charli, Carly, Tove, etc. would have been dropped after their second album. Kim Petras never would have been signed to a major in the first place, but Republic no doubt saw the same potential in her.

She's probably never going to blow up the charts in a major way, but she can tour, sell merch, get booked and bring in enough money to make her worth the investment. It's just a different landscape now. We still have our corporate machine pop stars like Dua and Ariana, but it's getting less and less necessary to take that approach.

My answer is still the same though, I think she’ll remain basically listened to and followed almost entirely by the LGBT community.

In the same way Charli had Boom Clap/Fancy, Azealia had 212, Carly had Call Me Maybe/Good Time, this song (Unholy) will be a chart hit and catch some mainstream footing but overall as an artist she’ll continue to only be checked out by the LGBT community for the most part.

But Kim doesn’t really have a ton of appeal beyond the LGBT community. We’re the primary consumers of female sexually charged pop music beyond what becomes popular with teenagers.
