I really like LBT ... and I want to like this album (and others here may very well drool over it), but this is a swing & miss for me personally. Not sure if it's the lack of tempo or what, but this one just doesn't do it for me.

I haven’t listened to this yet but these guys should still be cranking out hits. They’ve really failed me with their singles lately. “Better Man” was the last good single I liked from them.

They’ve had some songs I didn’t care for but they’ve had other songs that should have been bigger hits. Fine line, painkiller, and sober should have all been top ten hits.

This is another masterpiece record from LBT. Only a handful of listens so far, but early faves for me:
All Summer (shoulda been the lead single...) Three Whiskeys and the Truth Gold Rich Man God Fearing Gypsies Song Back
The harmonies, lyricism, production... such perfection. They're just so good at what they do. Wish radio would play them again.

This is still not even close to being as good as their older music, and I still desperately miss their old sound, but this is a fairly solid album. Seems to be more focus on the vocals/harmonies and melody, which I appreciate. It sounds like they're at least more focused on coming out with good songs instead of all of the experimental sounding crap.
"Better Love" was easily a standout for me. That one reminds me so much of their older sound, that I yearn for lol. "Gold" was another standout as well as "There Whiskey's And The Truth." "Mr. Sun" was also fairly strong melodically. And of course "All Summer' and "Rich Man" are both fantastic..
I do think this album could grow on me, too. So this is a step in the right direction for me... but I still don't care for how their sound has evolved over the years and I'm gonna need them to fully return to their roots with their next album.

I’m on my second listen through of this, so my opinion may change. That said, this album isn’t hitting me the way I had hoped. It’s definitely better than The Breaker but I’d still put their last album, Pain Killer and Tornado above this. Standouts for me are “Better Love” and “Rich Man.” “All Summer” has grown on me and I think should’ve been the lead, but it is what it is. In my opinion, Little Big Town is one of the best acts country music has ever seen, and I just want to see them continue to have success. I do hope they find success with this album, even if it isn’t my favorite from them.

Honestly that’s decent considering they have no radio hits right now. Pardi only had 5k more and he’s been all over the radio.

This debuting at #10 on the country album chart looks like quite a drop-off from their last few album openings, but all things considered with the way the industry is currently sitting with regards to sales, it's not bad at all.
