#12: I'm just saying... if Taylor knew the man was trouble, she would have got him exiled.

Condolences nickd & wyckyd! But also congrats to myself, my co-host fearlessarrow and the tasteful Hamed 🔪♥️ "Hey Stephen" has always been a polarizing song but always ends up doing pretty well! One song left to end the second day of reveals!

“Jump Then Fall” deserves justice! It always should’ve been a single.

And one of our biggest Taylor's Version winners, is out now, at #11. "The Other Side Of The Door" has slowly but steadily rose to a fan-favorite status over the last few years and the re-recording really came to solidify that. Condolences my beloved taylor & jaden!

With your face and the beautiful eyes And the conversation with the little white lies And the faded picture of a beautiful night You carried me from your car up the stairs And I broke down crying, was she worth this mess? After everything and that little black dress After everything I must confess, I need you

We return to a vault track as "Don't You" is the next song to be eliminated. I think sound-wise it's an outlier among the vault tracks as it sounds closer to the pop songs she would record post- Red than any of the other vault tracks which sounds country-pop just like the tracks on Fearless. And we now know I'm the host with the best taste because both born and taylor have lost at least one top 10 rank whereas I haven't Best taste or basicest localest taste?

After everything and that little black dress After everything I must confess, I need you For real though, this outro hit me just recently (as I've never been a big TOSOTD fan). She really kills those fast-paced sections in her songs. I love them in more playful songs like "Paris" & "London Boy" but also in more vulnerable songs like "Would've, Could've, Should've" & "Maroon".

One of my besties sent me a screenshot of "TOSOTD" a few days ago. He said he loves it... and he isn't crazy for 90% of Taylor's music.
Happy to see it did the best of the Platinum Edition tracks though. "Come In With The Rain" deserved a bit better.

The "Death by a Thousand Cuts" bridge (or is it just the second verse?), the "Cruel Summer" post-chorus, the "Out of the Woods" bridge... the list goes on. "The Other Side of the Door" has always been my favorite platinum edition track mostly because of that outro. The gospel is spreading and we love to see it!

Aw man I knew I'd probably be the only #1 rank for Today Was a Fairytale but I was still hoping for top ten. Guess this is what happens for lists this strong.

It’s me, hi! I’m the problem host sending this rankdown off with a grand finale, it’s me! But before I do that, I wanted to veer away from Fearless for a split second to acknowledge something very important to me. Today is the second birthday of Taylor’s ninth studio album, evermore. I’ll never forget where I was when it was first released. For starters, I hadn’t even known it existed until it had already been out in the world for over eight hours. I had been away from social media with no access, and so it took the news that morning to find out. Waking up that morning felt like waking up on Christmas Day. Obviously, I immediately sprinted to listen. From the very second “willow” began, I was enchanted. It was like being transported back to a world you’ve come to know and love and find comfort in, but discovering even more brand newness to it. Things you hadn’t thought of before suddenly bringing themselves to the forefront, forcing you to pay attention to the complexities of this world that were hidden in its quill pen lyrics and mystifying sounds. From the second I heard this album, it was my favorite. But over time, it’s become something so much deeper. It’s become way more than just wonderful music. For me, evermore is an album of love and loss, of happiness and guilt, of sadness and hope. It’s an album of trauma and healing. It’s an album with deep meaning, chock full of the lessons of life that I’ve come to learn over the years. evermore has taught me that it’s okay to not be okay. It has taught me that everything happens for a reason, and good things will come to you with time and patience. It has taught me that time is precious, to never let it go to waste. To say all the things you want to say and do all the things you want to do, before it’s too late. To tell the ones you love that you love them, in case you don’t see them tomorrow. It’s also taught me that I am deserving of love, and that it can happen. That if he feels like someone I’d call home, to go there. That the fairytale—albeit still grounded in reality—does come true. That there really are happy endings. But the biggest thing evermore has done for me lies within its title track. “evermore,” when I first heard it, spoke to me of a life so full of trauma that the pain has become unbearable. The only option felt like running out of that open window, barefoot in the wildest winter, right towards a wall of permanence that might end the pain but take away the chance of any future, easy happiness. Then something came along inside the spirit, right before making that sprint, that washed everything out. It brought the situation back into a 50/50 clarity, showing the painful past but also the fulfilling future. When I revisited this song in 2022, I saw myself. I saw my wrong body and the depressing life it caused. I saw my frantic search for the right HRT program, the fate of my life hanging in the balance. And I saw everything that happened afterward…the happiest time I’ve ever had. The changes my body has made and continues to make. I saw my future in this song, and it is so bright. So…yeah. As you can see, I have a lot of love for evermore. It may be underrated by the masses, but it holds a deep meaning for me, and that’s all that matters. Happy birthday to evermore, the album that holds in its songs the deepest, most special place of my heart. <3

Google was 100% being the anti-hero there for a hot minute, lol. But I think I have it figured out again! I use Numbers so I’m always rusty with Google We kick off the Top 10 with “Breathe,” which features backing vocals from Colbie Caillat. I wish Taylor didn’t almost exclusively have other women on only backing vocals when they collab, because Colbie has such a great alto voice that would’ve shined in this song if featured prominently on a verse.

born is the next co-host to lose their #1, as his top song “You’re Not Sorry” leaves the stage. The title of this one certainly is apt for me, as this is the one song from Fearless that I’ve just never really cared for, even after this re-recording. Condolences born! It’s always hard to say goodbye to a #1

Blowing away its competition of new songs out of the water, “Mr. Perfectly Fine” ends its long run at #8, securing its title as what Pulse believes to be the best of the Fearless Vault! It’s cute, and has some cool lyrics, but I’m not too swayed one way or the other by it. Don’t often seek it out, wouldn’t skip it if it came on kind of situation. Condolences to bboat11 on the loss of his #1!

It was obviously bound to happen: the #1s are dropping like flies! This time, our apologies go out to austin who parts ways with “The Way I Loved You,” but there’s at least a silver lining: it hit the Top 10! In the original album rankdown, it just missed out in the threshold. This four-spot jump is nothing to sneeze at!

There is something MAGICAL about “Fifteen (Taylor’s Version).” The lyrics hit much harder sung by a 32-year-old than they ever did sung by an 18-year-old. Two VERY different listening experiences. And if you haven’t seen the lyric video, you really should.
Something cool is about to happen next!
