Well, I guess it's about time. I think it lasted longer than I expected it to, I thought it was going to freefall once it hit the top 10 but it even made it into the top 5, which makes it her biggest pop radio hit since "Delicate" outside of "Anti-Hero", which is pretty crazy to think about.

This did fine. It got to top 5 and it sustained Midnights which is still #3 on billboard. Single #3 will do the same.

I don't think whatever single #3 is (if there is another single) will smash but I think it'll help sustain the album in the top 10 alongside the tour. I would prefer her just move on to Speak Now TV but if she's not releasing it until the fall/winter then why not release another single.

I agree she's waiting for Speak Now TV and we will get it in the fall. I think the hype for Speak Now TV is so crazy that it will be huge. I think she should do Dear John with a video.

I think it should be a sound conclusion to be done here now that the tracking week is over.

It’s hard to justify calling this anything but a smash hit. #2 on the hot 100 with a 6+ month run at pop radio culminating in a multi-week top ten stay and peaking in the top 5. This song very easily could have been overshadowed and eaten alive by Anti-Hero but it stayed consistent and IMO had an extremely impressive run.

Somehow achieving every slot in the top ten in the same week makes the individual songs not worthy? That makes no sense. I seriously question the motives of those trying to discount the obvious success of this song. There are much easier battles to fight that don’t make you look so biased. This was the very definition of a slow growing organic hit.

Now you're critiquing it's performance on the Hot 100? I guess you're just going thread to thread with the trolling. This reached #11 on the Hot 100 very late in its run (as you would say, on its "own merits", whatever that actually means). Higher than "Delicate" at its peak as a matter of fact. A hit is a hit is a hit and that's exactly what "Lavender Haze" is. You people who only perceive hits as multi-week #1 across-the-board smashes need to realize there are varying levels of success outside "huge smash" or "flop".

He called the fifteen week, and #8 on Pop for like a week Chained To The Rhythm a hit. He was dead serious too

I actually said no less than 2 posts ago it was a hit! Lol. When did I say it was a flop? All I questioned was it’s “smash hit” status that one user heralded this as and it was a simple yes or no question. But go on putting words in my mouth.

Regardless if a song performs well or underperforms, to come into a thread out of the blue like the poster several posts up and comment one word “flop”, is immature, jealous and kinda mean girlish.

All I questioned was it’s “smash hit” status that one user heralded this as and it was a simple yes or no question. But go on putting words in my mouth. Oh my apologies. You didn't use the word "flop". I possibly conflated your post with the one above initially. In the last thread you said it wasn't a "lasting hit", that given how it fell it was like it "wasn't meant to peak where it did at all", and once again you further criticized its performance by asking if it had made the top 10 on the Hot 100 on "its own merits tho". These back-to-back posts very much come off as if you're repeatedly undermining it's success for whatever reason. I mean, hey, to each his own. I just don't see how #2 on the Hot 100, top 5 on both of it's targeted radio formats, and the single propping up the album (as was its job) is anything but a resounding success and that would be the case for any artist across-the-board IMO.

Go listen to Stupid Love and Really Over and leave Taylor and her 2023 hits alone I will listen to both those songs and get my life, thank you for your suggestion! "Lavender Haze" flopped. Period. The facts speak clearly: the 2nd single off a hyped album takes 6 months to reach the top 10 at Pop radio and never gets to the top 10 of the Hot 100 outside of album debut week. If this had happened to anyone else, the Swifties would claim FLOP immediately.
