US Tracklisting: 1. The Reason 2. Immortality (w/The Bee Gees) 3. Treat Her Like a Lady (f/Diana King & Brownstone) 4. Why Oh Why 5. Love is on the Way 6. Tell Him (w/Barbra Streisand) 7. Where is the Love 8. When I Need You 9. Miles to Go (Before I Sleep) 10. Us 11. Just A Little Bit of Love 12. My Heart Will Go On 13. I Hate You Then I Love You (w/Luciano Pavarotti) 14. To Love You More 15. Let's Talk About Love Beyond surprised there's no thread for this album yet (or that I didn't do it!) This year marks the 25th anniversary of LTAL and will be available on vinyl next month. International versions include additional tracks "Be the Man (On This Night)" and the Spanish track "Amar haciendo el amor" in lieu of To Love You More. The album reached diamond in the US becoming her 2nd album to do so and was pretty much #1 everywhere.

The only real U.S. hit on this album was "MHWGO." "TLYM" was an AC hit, but it's wild the album sold what it did off basically one song (that was also available on a soundtrack that sold a ton).

To Love You More reached #21 on pop radio (though wiki also says it reached #11 on radio songs, which I guess is overall radio?) so thatβs not too bad. Iβd classify it as a hit either way, albeit a smaller one and probably not one that sold the album much.
Beyond the US, To Love You More had a life across at least three albums. In Canada it was a radio hit from a live French CD she put out prior to Falling Into You in late 1995. Earlier in the year it was a pretty big hit in Japan for some reason. I think it was the theme to a tv show or something?
In the 90s, adult pop music like Celineβs sold super well without radio hits. By 1997, she was a big enough name that she didnβt need the hits anyway. Even still, it is surprising that the album didnβt yield anything more beyond those. There were videos and/or physical singles done up for Immortality, Miles To Go (which I heard quite a bit on radio here at the time) and i think The Reason (one of my favourites on the album). I think even Treat Her Like A Lady was released somewhere lmaooo

After the FIY era where she had three top 10 hits at Top 40, her only top 10s at the format were "MHWGO" and then "That's the Way It Is." As you note, though, adult pop music sold big then (and even into the 00s, see Norah Jones).

Great album.
"Where Is The Love" is such a guilty pleasure of mine. Sappy, but gorgeous.

Great album. "Where Is The Love" is such a guilty pleasure of mine. Sappy, but gorgeous. One of two songs on the album written by Corey Hart. Album certified 11X platinum now.

Doesn't top "Unison", "Celine Dion", "The Color Of My Love", and even "Falling Into You" for me, but this is probably her last good album where I really enjoy the music. My absolute faves are "Immortality", "Why Oh Why", "When I Need You", and "Love Is On The Way". I also like "Tell Him" and "Treat Her Like A Lady".

I feel like Iβm in the minority where I donβt really care for much of Falling Into You but I do very much enjoy most of this album. Thereβs a few tracks I wish werenβt on here (mainly the Luciano duet) and βUsβ is easily among Celineβs top 5 english songs period.
In the end, my favourite album is The Colour of My Love. Iβve been waiting for a vinyl release of self-titled to get reacquainted with that one.

I still play this album! It is one of the best pop albums of the 1990s. It is full of strong adult contemporary songs.
