I'm guessing this will be her smallest opening, similar to Shania's latest. Anyway, as long as the music's good, that's all that really counts.

She definitely won’t have a ticket bundle to help the sales, so it’ll definitely be a lower effort. Still hoping for a #1 debut/top 5, but to be honest, I don’t know these days. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how she sells because I’m nervous lately. I feel like she’s pissed off a lot of people as of late, her comments on social media are swarmed with negativity.

Sorta off-topic: I don't know if they were controversial or not but I miss the days of ticket bundles because it wasn't rare for an artist to sell hundreds of thousands of albums and now most of them seem to sell well below 100,000 except for a select few. It just felt more exciting with ticket bundles to me at least.

So in that sense, it felt fair and honest.

I agree and I honestly don’t think it was the actual ticket bundles that ticked Billboard off; it was more artists (their teams, reallty) exploiting it by bundling albums with any and everything they could sell to inflate numbers. Having it only be applicable on ticket bundles that require the ticket holder to opt-in and redeem the digital album seems like a fair exchange.

Oh yea, I forgot about the clothing bundles fiasco. It was good call to stop allowing that to happen.

“Just Give Me a Reason” will cross the BILLION mark today, her first song to reach this milestone. :)
Edit:
It’s official!

It’s been super strange seeing AIKSF *selling* so well. Even though it’s probably only a few hundred copies is still odd seeing it reach iTunes Top 10 ahead of the two latest track releases.
With no streaming presence, getting 30K in pure sales with be noteworthy. Maybe she’ll do well with vinyl, but continuing to rely on the iTunes/CD relics is a losing strategy.

I find most of her fans are oldschool in the sense that they buy the CD/Vinyl and want something tangible. We’re just from that time. For me I buy the cd, on iTunes, the Zine that comes with the CD attached, and then I’ll mostly listen to it via Spotify. But that’s me. Lol I just don’t buy the box sets because usually it’s stuff I could care less about. It’s hard to find good quality merch clothing these days either. I agree with you, that actual sales can only do so much nowadays, especially if you’re not a big selling star. There needs to be some sort of streaming focus, because she doesn’t do too badly for someone from the pre digital age. If only they could get her steaming up, she could have really nice numbers that also include her actual sales.

So I like "When I Get There" but I am not sure if it is first track material. It sounds more like it would be a middle of the album song. Maybe it'll make more sense about its placement when the albums comes out Friday.

She tends to open her albums with bangers, but this one is sweet and probably sets the tone for the album. She did say she curated it herself, so I’m guessing there’s a reason.

I'm gonna wait until Friday to listen to the full album. Did not listen to When I Get There yet.

Losing a parent regardless of your relationship with them can take a toll. I think it's a fitting tribute to her father, who has been such a proponent of her career since day one. He deserves track 1. Absolutely love this song.

Bold choice for Track 1 and I love Pink for that. Can't wait for tomorrow.
