The album opener is out at #3! This song had such a harsh path. It remained at #1 for the biggest portion of the game, only to be pushed down in the last few lists! But we have to move on! Down to the final two: Is it gonna be the sentimental ballad, or the cheerful uptempo number? The solo, understated track or the huge pop collab? "Merry Christmas (To The One I Used To Know)" or "Santa, Can't You Hear Me" with Ariana Grande?

I'm sorry, but the production on MCTTOIUTK is so bad. It sounds like an early Idol coronation cheese fest. Lyrically and vocally it's a great song, but the production drags it down so much.

The instrumental is so corny it’s annoying—they’re such a crazy talented group of musicians, this is a gorgeous song, and then after the first chorus that canned, Disney-esque kick comes in and I just…always wish it had stayed a piano ballad.

OMG seeing you say this AND us having the same top 2?! TASTE (I pretend I do not see Christmas Eve as your #13 lol)

I didn't get around to sending in a list, but if I had my #1 would have been "Christmas Come Early." It's beautiful. "Christmas Eve" would have been top 3.
It's nice to see an album track win one of these things.

I always knew "Merry Christmas (To the One I Used to Know)" would win, that one packs an emotional punch. I didn't really think much about the song until she performed it on her special and it made me tear up, that's when it shot up into my favorites. I generally prefer the WIR originals + "Christmas Eve" to this album, but that's not a knock on it so much as a credit to WIR.
Thanks for hosting! :)

"Merry Christmas (To the One I Used to Know)" has been my favorite since the album was released. I will definitely be listening to it every time Christmas is near.
