Nice! I've only listened to "Hair Salon" and this one but both are really good. "Tennessee Orange" is already doing super well in other metrics so hopefully that momentum can turn this into a radio hit as well.

"Hair Salon" is THE song imo, but glad to see her see viral success with this one(the marketing around it has been genius). So many talented women in country, and Megan hopefully will get a strong push to succeed.

This song is fantastic and I love seeing a new girl making these promising viral waves like she is already with this song. I hope country radio responds accordingly and "Tennessee Orange" gets fast-tracked the way Bailey Zimmerman's debut effort has. I just can't imagine this one going up too slowly given the excitement around it, and I'm excited to see it become a big hit.

I like the artist and the song, and I especially like seeing a woman have the kind of buzz she is having. However, and forgive me for continuing to sound this alarm in now multiple threads, but listen to both songs' choruses and tell me there's not cause for concern here. They sound identical.

I grew to really like this song, so hopefully this would be a big hit. Given its popularity on other platforms, I am pretty optimistic about the radio performance of this tune, so I would love to see her becoming a new successful female of 2023.

One of the best songs of the year imo. Wish it could have been sent out sooner considering the sports references, but I still feel confident this can peak really high. Easily the most excited I’ve been about a debut female song in a while.

Is there a way to see a list of what stations have already added TN Orange? I saw this week 4 stations added the song.

Debut at #60 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart, one week before impact.

I honestly don't hear anything special here. I think I might like her voice, but this song is so generic and drab.

Why is Arista Nashville pushing her song at radio if she has associations with Columbia? Wouldn't Columbia Nashville handle the promotion?

She's signed to the Columbia label out of (I think) NY not the Nashville one, and Columbia Nashville is just one of the imprints under Sony Nashville, so aside from the names being the same, there's really no correlation I believe.

^ Yeah even though she’s signed to the NY branch of Columbia it might be too crowded to stick her on Colombia Nashville since Maren is there. Arista hasn’t had a main female since Carrie left so it’s probably the perfect fit.

Gotcha. Thank you for the insight.
Hopefully, Arista will fully commit to her. I'm still salty that they weren't able to get "Wilder Days" by Morgan Wade higher than the 20's...

3rd most added song with 28 stations. I think it's 40 total stations by add week. Very promising start for a new female artist.

Basically starting off on the same foot as Kelsea's single, so very promising indeed. This is going to be a smash.

It’s not as bland as I thought on my initial listen so there’s hope it’ll grow on me. Will update my thoughts if it does haha

Looks like Arista Nashville finally has a female artist to compete with the star power Carrie Underwood brought to the label a few years back.

Given its positive updates the last 2 days despite Christmas songs taking over, I’m curious if this was the other country “On The Verge” pick. I can’t imagine it’s naturally having these gains the last 2 days. I believe this song & “Rock And A Hard Place” are the only non-holiday songs to not suffer any major losses which Bailey’s song was recently selected for OTV.

This, unlike Bailey's song, is a perfect example of what should be an OTV song. If these two songs are both truly OTV picks, it's clear the program is trying to select songs that already look like they will be hits that they can then say were OTV hits. This strategy would be a smart way to revive the program's credibility.

I just heard it played on the radio with one of the intro blurbs that has Megan talking about the song and how she got her start as a singer, so I was actually wondering the same thing and if this is another case of them having 2 concurrent picks for OTV treatment (can't remember who it was in the past that were the recipients of that, but I do recall a time when they had 2 at the same time and I wanna say one of them was Caylee Hammack, but not certain?). Either way, this is going to be a big hit with or without any extra push like that, but I'll be happy if it gets pushed up the charts even faster than anticipated. Could be that, but also could be just that this was what was chosen based on popularity since iirc radio PDs vote on what the pick should be, and both Bailey Zimmerman and Megan Moroney have a lot of buzz around them rn. Bailey's is a bit of a head scratcher since he already just had a smash hit, but they've picked a few artists in the past who had a hit or two under their belt previously so it's not unprecedented (Dustin Lynch, Craig Campbell).

Ingrid Andress got OTV for “More Hearts Than Mine” when Caylee got it for “Family Tree”. Unfortunately Caylee’s song didn’t make it that high on the charts, but Megan and Bailey’s songs will for sure be future chart-toppers. I do hope we see more dual OTV picks going forward though.

Either way, this is going to be a big hit with or without any extra push like that, but I'll be happy if it gets pushed up the charts even faster than anticipated. That intro blurb of Megan talking about the song and her start as a singer was sent out with "Tennessee Orange" when it first was delivered to country radio through Play MPE. I played it too lol. In regards to On The Verge, it helps songs more than any other corporate radio program, because of iHeartMedia having the most owned stations on the panel; but Audacy has their own programs, and Cumulus and Townsquare Media block add songs as well, with rotation on most or all of their stations. Whether it's iHeart, Audacy or another company's program, this shows how much radio believes and wants to play Bailey and Megan's singles. I used to hate the On the Verge program, but in reality it's just programmers and brand managers/program directors deciding which new artists excite them the most, which is the basis for every new single/artist being given a chance. Eventually, testing can sink or swim a single, which we have seen with OTV picks before ("God Made Girls", "Somebody's Daughter" being two examples which did not reach the top 10). Not all new artists or singles will make it, unfortunately, that's just the nature of the beast. Radio needs to play enough current singles to stay on the panel, but they need to play enough recurrents and gold titles, which are the songs listeners know; longer time spent listening to the radio, increased ratings and that can increase revenue based off advertising on the air. There are no iHeartMedia stations who have this in medium or heavy rotation; quite a few Audacy stations do, but also other companies and independent stations as well.
