I feel like I've said this a million times but the thing that makes "Wasted On You" and "You Proof" baffling is that he's capable of so much more, putting aside his personal antics aside. When you have "Sand In My Boots", "7 Summers", "Thought You Should Know" and the like in your catalog, it's pretty unforgivable that he cranks out songs with unnecessary trap beats.

I’ve been struggling to like much that Lil Baby has put out lately, and I blame a lot of that on his verse on Girls Want Girls ending a streak of quality solo hits and guest appearances in 2020-21. In A Minute isn’t the worst thing he was on in 2022 when Heyy and the Sleazy Flow remix exist, but it’s still pretty mediocre.
