I don't mind where, as long as it charts on Hot 100.

She better be getting a music video ready to release in the new year! Exciting to see this already doing well on radio.

I've heard a few people say the radio release uses a different mix and adjusted intro. Is that true or just hearsay?
A lot of the fan-made "2022 mixes" sound very promising. I'd be curious to hear what, or if, the label came up with anything themselves.

The music industry and landscape is wildly different and changing. Labels are struggling to break new artists (as they always have lol) and it seems now there’s this feeling of introducing older music to the younger generation and I’m digging it.

It's not really the label, it's just kind of random chance. The younger generation is why this is even being pushed to radio at all. The song blew up because of a TikTok dance challenge where people would do the Wednesday Addams dance to a sped up version of this song.

I'm loving these old songs going viral and then getting sent to radio, Die for you, Bloody Mary. I wonder what is next.

I'm loving these old songs going viral and then getting sent to radio, Die for you, Bloody Mary. I wonder what is next. At this point, a random Negro spiritual. What a weird trend. It would be slightly less weird if I liked the song even remotely when it was originally released on its parent album, but this turgid, slog of a song? Nah.

I never really cared for this and skipped it when BTW was out but it fits in very well with Top 40 radio in 2022.

Someone should get a Time Machine to 2011 and tell people that in 11 years, this would be going top 40. So hard to believe, but so happy for her

The music industry and landscape is wildly different and changing. Labels are struggling to break new artists (as they always have lol) and it seems now there’s this feeling of introducing older music to the younger generation and I’m digging it. It just is a natural change that was bound to come with the way consumption has changed. Also has zero to do with 'new music today being bad' (ugh, this was the same excuse being used when album sales were plummeting a decade ago. When it simply had to do with the fact stealing music was easier and convenient than ever). Y'all have to understand we are finally in an era where catalog music is fully accessible, to all extents, for the entire public. In 1992 shelf space was mostly reserved for new releases inside music stores, once an album's run was done it was hard to find in stores unless it was a staple album ala MJ/Beatles/etc albums. In 2012 you still had to pay individually for music on iTunes. If someone has a budget of $20 are they going to buy a random album from 20 years ago or buy the new release everyone is talking about? In 2022 you can now simply search ANY song from ANY time in history on a streaming service. Now for consumers it is easier than ever to consume catalog music as a result. You can go down nostalgia lane and listen to the most random, obscure, and overlooked songs from any time period. It was bound that catalog music would become bigger than ever.

So I wonder what the longest gap between an album's first and last single charting on pop. This may take the cake.

Did Kate Bush's album with RUTH have a single that charted on Pop before?

it's so weird to see so many people saying they hated this song when BTW came out. Americano maybe, but Bloody Mary?

Did Kate Bush's album with RUTH have a single that charted on Pop before? I'd say the difference here is that Bloody Mary was never a single before.

Did Kate Bush's album with RUTH have a single that charted on Pop before? No. Kate's only ever appeared on the pop chart twice. Once in 2022 with the smash hit "Running Up That Hill," and once in 1985 with a cute little song that didn't do much called... "Running Up That Hill."

I think this was seen as "Alejandro 2.0" when it came out. I have always liked this but used to love it more through the years (yes even before the huge virality - it has been a "bubbling under" track on Tiktok for a while getting 100-200k streams daily on Spotify)
