You can all relax, Heat Waves left weeks before Christmas songs started re-charting, it's not coming back.

The rest should be fair game, with Me Porto Bonito being the only other one I somewhat question due to it going recurrent the week of 11/26, a week before the Holiday 100 was reinstated for 2022-23. But knowing how fast and loose Billboard utilizes their recurrent rules (especially nowadays), I'm not ruling it out.

Ditto is gaining steam because it's actually different, Blackpink has made the same song for the last 5 years and BTS makes generic pop music for english audiences that their stans have to mass-buy in order to make successful. Ditto is more chill and fits in line with western music at the moment, it doesn't really sound like K-Pop.

NewJeans look like they'll be the first k-pop act since Psy to actually get huge naturally and not by stans mass-streaming/mass-buying like BP and BTS. Let's go!

For 'Heat Waves' there would need to be a logical reason driving its resurgence for it to re-enter. It will not re-enter due to random fluctuation

If Heat Waves and You Proof somehow manage to re-enter this week, that would be the second time two songs with more than 52 weeks in the Hot 100 re-entered the same week. Last year, it happened with Levitating and Save Your Tears.

to be fair its not exactly "random" since it gains in points from year-end countdown from radio and year-end/New Year playlist from streaming.

True, but also I recall some back in early 2021 predicting that Circles would re-enter with the same year-end countdown effects and it didn't. Like Heat Waves, it left just prior to the Christmas songs re-entering.

If there is a logical reason for a songs sudden resurgence in popularity then the song will re enter otherwise it won’t.

“Logical reason” is determined by the people who run the chart

If showing up on a year end countdown show is a “logical reason “. We will know soon enough

Also, finally listened to both Ditto and Escapism. Former is a pretty good breezy pop song, and the latter, probably gonna need a couple more listens to get it, but i already feel like my opinion on it is gonna end up the same as my opinion with RUTH. I.e - good to great pop song, but i don't like it as much as most.

Tbh it probably doesn't even have enough points to be in the Hot 100 at all if it's allowed to, let alone the top 25.
Also, just now realized, i think both Blinding Lights and Heat Waves left the charts the same way, getting knocked out by a pretty big album bomb (Donda and It's Only Me) that was then succeeded by a record-shattering one (CLB and Midnights).
