We round out the bottom 20 with the first of Conner Smith's two bland releases that he has used to kick off his career. There's not really anything wrong with this one, other than it's pretty faceless. Definitely doesn't give me a sense for who Conner Smith is trying to be as an artist. But it is absolutely the least-disliked song we have seen so far! Peep the fact that it only has one bottom 10 rank. I wonder how much longer it will be until we finally get our first reveal that doesn't have ANY bottom 10 ranks!

Finally we give the "fun" songs a break, much to the relief of 🌺CountryLineDancer ;) "You Ain't Pretty" is a song that has a lot of potential imo! I do really like the message. But it almost feels under-performed or under-written or something, like the whole thing is just missing some kind of spark that would make it pop... It is officially our first song without any bottom 10 ranks though, so that's cool and noteworthy!! |

If radio wants a basic male singer, I’d rather keep Chris Lane over Nate Barnes or Adam Doleac. This is the most forgettable song on the list for sure.

“Prayed For You” and “Everywhere But On” are both really solid but I kinda just kept forgetting about “Man Made”. “If I Was a Bar” is still, by far, my favorite Matt Stell song.

Former Mr. Ballerini is just... not very good. Not surprised he failed to latch on. "Over for You" is the best thing he's done to date but even that I've kinda soured on recently, especially after Kelsea dropped her EP and exposed his ass, lmao.

FINALLY..... "Out In The Middle" is, to my ears at least, VERY much the worst song they have ever released to country radio... The vocals are sooooo awful and grating, and the melody makes it all worse... I cannot tell you how much I was rolling my eyes watching this song climb gradually from being a bottom 10 contender all the way up to the 80s over the course of this rankdown....

Surprised radio has kept Out In The Middle for so long because if the vocals in Roots were annoying enough to stall on charts, this shouldn't have stayed much longer than that.

"Growing Old With You" in my mind signals the fact that we are finally starting to run out of songs that are actively terrible. (I mean, there are definitely still a few left... But you know what I mean!) This one is just kinda boring yet inoffensive. I can see why some would love it and some would not. Personally I always enjoy listening to it in the moment, and then completely forget everything about it the moment it ends.

The chart run of this song confused me. Thought it was connecting well, debuting on Hot Country, and suddenly disappeared. It’s an okay song, Sundown Somewhere is far better.

I feel like Jason's output this year wasn't nearly as awful as some people make it out to be. He's had MUCH worse years, like when he had "The Only Way I Know" and "Take A Little Ride" in the same year, or "Gonna Know We Were Here" followed by "Lights Come On"... Nevertheless, his behavior has been reprehensible, so gtfo!!! Good riddance!
