Shakira only had a full day for this tracking week. Even if Shakira had a full tracking week, I'm quite sure she wouldn't be a threat to SZA (although, I think that would be great if she was!). Shakira would be lucky to have a Top 10 US hit with this song, but even that's a stretch. She's likely looking at a Top 40 peak.

I assume the same reason they won't just combine streams for all remixes, duets, added guests, etc. They used to (I remember a time when Habits (Stay High) and its Hippie Sabotage remix were combined) but it's honestly better they don't outright combine everything, keeps things fair and objective and also better in tracking which version is more known.

Seems like they (or maybe labels, idk) are testing out the idea of putting certain potential hit songs in their autoplay and radio features. It's actually not unheard of (it's how Gold by Kiiara became a thing in 2016), but now that streaming runs everything in music, those services are being manipulated more than ever.

Here's the twist, though: If this were just one song tanking or gaining without any other odd movements as well, I wouldn't worry as much. But in the same couple of days as UIFY Duet's decline, we saw the surge of songs like Nonsense, the sped up version of Escapism, and a few others (KB might have been one of them, but that also just got a video, so some of it might have been natural). That's not something I'm used to as someone who's followed the Spotify charts for a few years now.

I was under the impression yesterday that it was a random glitch (which has happened in the past), but now it's very much real. In fact, it could be the 2023 version of payola now that radio audiences are lower than ever.

^And most people don't know that you can easily disable YouTube autoplay on any device or are too lazy to do so. I generally would rather select something to play or even a playlist than have random stuff appear to me.
