Holy fuck, this song absolutely blew me away on my first listen. The production is batshit insane in the best way, Danny Brown’s energy is incredible, and I totally understand why this is RYM’s #1 single of the year. Genuinely thought it was winning here too, until the very end. Sorry to aerodynamite and BB🌕 for losing your #1.

yesss the superior Alvvays song from this top 10 won 🥳🥳 In Undertow has become one of my all time favorite songs, one of the best vibes from a song that I’ve ever heard. It’s one of those songs that just takes me on a journey with every listen, and I experience a wide range of emotions with every listen. So so happy with this winner ❤️

Oof at Boogie just missing out on the top five but hey its got Brockhampton's highest rank here ever at least! Well-deserved, considering how infectious every little melody or every little flourish in the production is.

I expected Little Dark Age to do well, but #4 even blows those expectations away. Thought it would miss top ten, even. Any song that so masterfully establishes an atmosphere all to itself has earned that kind of rank.

As much as I prefer Funeral on this list, Motion Sickness is still a solid fistful of emotion directly to the gut from her. And boy am I glad to see In Undertow take it in the end when Alvvays's other song in the top ten just didn't click for me. I know I have my moments of tanking them, but when they make a banger it's utterly undeniable.
