Both these Cale & Clapton songs were alright with me. Honestly, kinda surprised Bubbly placed this low with how her history has been here so far. Pretty decent mid-2000s Mellencamp song here too actually, liked this one more than I expected

I admittedly lean anti-Clapton but I didn't mind his songs with Cale at all 88

You mean to tell me that beyoncelover didn't take a SINGLE HIT to his bottom 10 out of 15 reveals?! Has this ever happened before? Usually there's at least ONE univerally loathed song that's basically a gimme.

Bottom 30 has to be even worse oh my god. Just-- HOW?! Idk what is worse, not losing a bottom 10 in the bottom 30, or losing all your top 10 before the top 30.

100. She's Mine - Brett DennenIronically enough add a beat and this almost sounds like it could have been a Train song. However I don't think that would have helped it one bit. 99. Don't You Wish It Was True - John FogertyI'll give a few pity ranks to vocalists I actually can enjoy. This wasn't bad but forgettable on its best day. I can also see Michael Madson dancing to this on Reservoir Dogs while slicing and dicing some poor soul. 98. Sing It All Night - deSolDidn't get the hate here. It's catchy and fun. Add Santana on guitars and Rob Thomas on vocals and you could have "smooth" part 2. 97. Good Excuse - The John Butler TrioI actually enjoyed the chello in this one. It's bass fire in its own way. 96. Listening to Levon - Marc CohnI got early Eagles meets Counting Crows. It wasn't abysmal , but damn boring. 95. Let It Be Sung - Jack Johnson with Matt Costa & Zach GillSounds like something a couple guys would be playing out on the beach ,because they have nowhere better to be. 94. In the Colors - Ben Harper and the Innocent CriminalsNot a Ben Harper fan, but this wasn't that bad. Now this sounds like something a few musicians stuck on some deserted island would start jamming to. Not because they have nothing to do, but to make the best of of their situation. 93. What Are We Fighting For? - Tyrone WellsI can't recall anything from this guy ever. Found the chorus to be somewhat catchy. 92. How Long - EaglesGave it 10 slots pity rank, and still couldn't crack my top half. The only thing I enjoyed here were Don Henley's vocals and even those kinda sounded phoned in. 91. Ride the River - J.J. Cale & Eric ClaptonThis one was damn annoying to listen to. I'd probably jump off that canoe , and take my chances with the currents if it was on the radio. 90. Bubbly - Colbie CaillatMy first top 40 loss. It was bound to happen. Some of you either really hate cute female vocals or thought this was grossly misplaced on this format? Either way Colbie would have to release something in Gangster Rap style in order for me to ever tank her. 89. Someday - John Mellencampand even bigger loss for me tonight. I wonder how John Will do once we hit his 90's songs, like "Get A Leg Up" or "Dance Naked" I'm guessing they were played on AAA. 88. Danger - J.J. Cale & Eric Claptonvocals sound good here. 'nuff said. 87. Hey There Delilah - Plain White T'sThis was my #100 for that year in Alt RD. Nice to see this travesty still getting the hate it deserves. 86. All Downhill - Lyle Lovett and His Large BandLiterally being played on a saloon piano. BTW Troy was not cheating off my list. EXTRAS:Can't Believe a Single Word - VHS or Beta Guitarworks giving me some U2 vibes. Then came the chorus and I really dug it. Hooks galore. Spirit Road - Neil YoungPapa Grunge strikes gain. I'll pass. Can't Let Go - Landon PiggI knew I was gonna love this from note one cuz it sounded like a Lifehouse intro. Definitely would have been one of my favs of that year had it gotten big radio success. The Pretender - Foo Fighters The Foos don't perform as high I would like like with you guys in these AAA rds, but I would probably go Top 10 with this one. It's loud. It's fierce, and it makes no difference what format a song lands on so long as I dig the song. I Still Remember - Bloc PartyI normally really dig this band. Especially their fierce guitar riffs, but this particular song felt a little tame for them. Still catchy enough to make my top half for that year. What you all need to do is go check out their new one "High Life".www.youtube.com/watch?v=NW5181KxbGYBound by Love - Gran Bel FisherSounds like something you would hear on Dawson's Creek. Parts of it are Lifehouse catchy, but few and spread too far apart. Bones - The KillersSeeing this was in my top 30 on that 2007 RD It would easily score a top 15 slot on this rd. Unbound - Suzanne Veganever was a fan of her vocals. Evident in this somewhat catchy song that I really don't care either. Calling All Friends - Low StarsSounds like a Bob Seger song...that I never really was a fan of. Lazy Eye - Silversun PickupsI might slot this higher if we ever redo that 2007 RD, but still would end up below my top 50.

{THE WALL}#100: There's just absolutely nothing of value here. #99: AAA always seems to have at least one song every year where an older musician makes a lame and passé dad rock song. This year, it was Fogerty. Looking forward to what member of the old guard adds to this storied tradition next year. #98: A case where the video is more interesting than the song, even if it's for the wrong reasons. #97: Even as someone who has never cared for the John Butler Trio, what the hell was this? #96: You know, after watching the One Hit Wonderland on Marc Cohn, I was actually a little intrigued to hear more from him. If this song is any indication, perhaps I was wrong to be intrigued. #95: A Jack Johnson song just existing? No! #94: Maybe Ben should have done more songs with Relentless7. #93: I don't need to hear this type of song from the whitest of the white boys. #92: Man, I have no idea why I liked this band so much once upon a time. They have always been so lame. #91: A perfectly cromulent song, but I doubt I'm going to remember it in a week. #90: I was not expecting to get a perfecto here, but sure, why not? I never disliked Colbie, really, until I started working in retail. Now, I can't even hear five seconds of one of her songs and not immediately feel dread. #89: I will give this Cougar song one thing: This is definitely not one of the worst I've heard from him. #88: Where ya at, Mystikal?! Actually, on second thought, maybe I shouldn't be mentioning him. He might see this, after all. #87: Jesus, the gaps lol...sorry, I can't bring myself to hate this, even now. #86: Lyle was definitely here this year. I'm not even really all that surprised that my 99 escaped the first set, but who on earth is boosting my 92?

The first time Yusuf/Cat Stevens has escaped the first night of reveals, and it's only because of a tie broken by the second highest ranking. This is a re-working of a section of the "Foreigner Suite" from his 1973 album. 85
