firefox Drake still hasn't officially announced the album himself. People found out the album title by getting his poetry book which dropped yesterday, getting one of the several special edition newspaper covers, scanning the dogs and then seeing his note announcing an album. This is the Twitter account for updates on all things Drake/Drake's official website. The dogs on the newspaper covers have a QR code people are meant to scan daily for updates on the album, leading up to its release this Friday. Drake also pushed back the first 2 dates of his tour (The June 29 date got pushed to August 6 and July 1 date got pushed to October 9). That makes the first date of his tour July 5, 5 days after June 30, this Friday. 

Darkest Hour also Oh U Went has finally jumped over Parade on Cleveland and is now #2. 

king_billboard_100 I don't think that's a competition. Olivia has done everything humanly possibly to ensure her new single debuts at #1. Physicals for the single? Check. Massive radio deal? Check. Music video? Check. I also can't see a world where she doesn't push the song aggressively on TikTok so it goes viral. It is also her first single in a really long time so all her fans will do all they can to support the song. Drake isn't doing any of that. The highest a song off his new album will peak is #2. It's also believed that Drake was actually supposed to drop his album this Friday but then Young Thug announced his album out of the blue and so Drake moved his album by a week for him, but that's neither here nor there.

Tbh, I think Drake might be able to do it (assuming he releases Friday, which makes sense based off what you said). Not to push expectations still high, and you're right that Olivia is pulling out all the stops, but it remains to be seen whether she'll be as successful as (say) Taylor and Nicki are with sales tactics. And I want to say Her Loss helped reaffirm a good deal of the damage Honestly, Nevermind did - I doubt he does W2S numbers, but for a solo album with a heavy rap focus I bet he does really well.

I really don't think he will. Olivia will have radio + massive pure sales (she has already sold out tons of physicals in the US/UK) + a music video + massive streams. Drake might have only one of those things. There's no way he outdoes her. Also, don't forget that Rich Flex went viral the week it was released and that helped with its streaming performance. There's nothing to suggest a song off Drake's new album will and we also don't even know what direction the album will lean into sonically. I'm not holding out hope for something I know is very unlikely. 

Drake already has 11 #1 hits to his name. Add to the fact that all his #1 singles this decade (5 of them now) have only spent a single week at the top position and that just highlights how insignificant they've become to him. My hope for the album is that one song off it takes off and becomes a stable hit. That's really all Drake can ask for at this point in his career, especially with him churning out albums at the rate he's doing. This will be his third album in just over a year.

Don’t forget Travis Scott’s new album dropping soon. I might be speculating but Ariana Grande might release new music since her 10th anniversary of her debut album is coming up. Idk exactly when but she hasn’t release new music for almost 3 years.

With Miley spending her 18th and final week atop Radio Songs with Flowers, I just wanted to say how pleased I am to see her achieve such success and longevity on both radio and streaming with this song. She definitely surpassed everyone's expectations, producing a new classic pop song for her in the process.

So, this upcoming week Rema & Selena will top radio with their summery smash Calm Down. I'm also very glad to see this succeed on radio and here's to seeing more such infectious songs getting heavy rotation. The song's at 100.27M AI right now and gaining. With the competition being far behind and either stalling or dropping in AI, I can see this remaining atop radio for at least a month, if not the rest of the summer, and maybe beyond. Morgan's Last Night has finally stalled at around 90M AI, while Taylor's Karma is slowing due to her label pushing Cruel Summer on radio. The only other current competition is Luke Combs' cover of Fast Car which is doing great on country radio but will soon peak there, I feel. His growth on radio will depend on Pop, HAC & AC, where the song is slowly growing (#11 on AC, #12 on HAC and #22 on Pop) but I don't know if the song will reach the upper echelons of those formats. And of course, there's also SZA's Snooze, which is currently at #1 on Urban, #3 on Rhythmic, #18 on Pop and #39 on HAC. At 56.82M AI, it's still a long way from reaching Calm Down and it will need Pop/HAC support to achieve that, which remains to be seen. Other than that, the rest of the top 20 is pretty stagnant at the moment. Taylor's Cruel Summer is currently at #59 with 17.64M AI and it just gained 1.46M so it also has a long way to go until it reaches the top 10 (probably around a month). If it keeps growing throughout the summer, I can see it nearing the summit of radio in around two months, by which time Calm Down will have dropped considerably. But that's all very speculative, it remains to be seen whether another smash arrives in the meantime, the summer is just starting after all!!

I think Uzi was set to drop this week but he'll push his album back a few weeks. I don't see him going up against Drake. He'd want to have a week to himself so he can maximize the attention his album gets.

Uzi wouldn’t stand a chance against Drake. The rappers who’d actually make it interesting are Kendrick and J. Cole.

The title is misleading engage bait for transphobes, in the very first lines it reads “I constantly had to educate people and explain why I identified with those pronouns. It was absolutely exhausting,” they still use they/them primarily (they added back she/her as well so it wouldn't be misgendering I guess, but if the only reason someone lists a pronoun is to be left alone, we, as people who know that they/them pronouns exist, should use them)(Also where did people get that Demi only uses she/her now I saw that spread a lot and that was never true)
