I have a different take than others it seems.  I don't think the charts are weak.  Sure there's the odd week some positions would be called weak but not overall.

i think people need to adjust their expectations on how songs will do.  Not only points but  streams sales etc which directly impacts points a song can get.  It is a new reality and not 2018 any longer.  Sales are dead except for the very rare cases.  Radio is way down in metrics.  And let's be honest, streaming is way down as well.  Between consumption patterns and Billboard continually excluding things that count - yes points are going to be much lower.

Last Night is not a weak number one. In fact I'd still consider it a very strong number one.  At about 300 points it is near max.  It is a good example of what we can expect in 2023 (of course there will be exceptions that do better, even much better). It is near the top of radio consumption patterns.  It is absolutely consistently a top streaming song,  with both those near the top, there isn't a lot more points to get.  And we've seen that not many songs have done better than 30m streams, and that 75m airplay is quite strong,

This also means Olivia is near the top of potential points.  So it definitely isn't a flop,  in fact barring some viral event or during slnum rlease 40m streams is now a rarity.

I also don't think that radio is propping up Last Night nor holding on too long,  it still is mostly the top streamed song after all.

I don' expect that to change much any time soon. We've seen from You Proof and Dangerous i that Morgan's streaming beyond consistent. LN will most likely still be getting 270+ points come September.  So how many weeks that translates into #1 really spends on what comes out that is quite strong and will get 35m streams and 25m AI in its first week.  Not many will do that nowadays.

^ I agree with the post above. Last Night is a really strong number one. The points in 2023 is different to what the points were a few years ago due to changes in the formula and the removal of UGC. Even compared to last year, the formula is different. 300 points is the new 400-500 points.
