I still loved this song, so I would've been ok with it making top 10. But since it didn't, I have no bottom 20s and 8 top 10s left, so, you know, pretty chill!
There's so much parity in this top 10. I honestly couldn't name a #1 contender I'm more than 40% sure about.

I've been real bad at posting on rankdowns recently. I do have some comments to make here, so I'll play a little catchup:
- I swear in hbomberguy's seminal video essay ROBLOX_OOF.mp3 there was a bit of info that led me to deduce that The Moth & the Flame were the only band signed to Tommy Tallarico's record label (and that the singer is like his nephew), but I can't find any evidence of that online. Given the source video is 2 hours long, it's a bit hard to scour for that one piece of info, but I'd be remiss not to mention it. I'll just rewatch it and update my findings.
- Dog Police was one of my very first musical memories, my dad had this song downloaded on Napster at the very first house I remember living in and I LOVED it (I think the music video scared me though?). Had forgotten this song had even existed till this rankdown lol, and I think that's a really interesting rediscovery.
- "Probably the most I've ever been engaged by a Grateful Dead song. Funny what catchy as hell guitar work can do for a band that I generally don't give all that much thought to otherwise." sums it up pretty nicely for me as well--absolutely was not expecting to rank a Grateful Dead song in my top 15, but I really liked this!
- I like Live at Leeds way more than I'd expect myself to as well.
- stellastarr My Coco is one of those songs I know the name of because it was a top 50 alternative hit in the early 2000s but had never actually heard. Given the average quality of songs that just went top 50 on alternative in the early 2000s, my expectations weren't high, but this was really cool. Songs like this are why I think going back through old radio charts' lesser known songs is worthwhile.
- Is it fucked up that my favorite Sophie Ellis-Bextor song is her cover of Crying at the Discotheque
- NEVER heard of Faunts before, but I loved this song (I ranked it all the way at #2 in a very high quality rankdown, if that says anything). ...What video game is it from? I'm not very video game knowledgeable, most video game music I am familiar with was performed by a singing dog

- M4 Part II finished way higher than I expected, awesome to see it was #1 at some point. great discovery here.
- Boy Problems was my main bet for winning this lol, it's probably my #2 from Emotion after the obvious one.
- The Sails Of Charon blew me away, I've never heard Scorpions' early material. It's been on repeat since doing this rankdown and would've been #2 on my list now.
about the top 10:
- really glad my #1 made it, eager to see how far it goes
- super cool that 'Swingin' Spathiphyllums' made the top 10, I had no idea what to expect regarding its final rank.
