Can't wait to hear this. Cody is one of the best voices in the format and has an ear for picking great, real songs. This title is intriguing, can't wait to hear where he went with it

There’s not many country songs I can think of with the word paint in the title. Both I can think of our Tracy Lawrence’s hits “Somebody Paints The Wall” & his gem from the early 2000’s “Paint Me A Birmingham”.

Are they holding on to the Carrie Underwood duet for later? I was expecting that to be the first single tbh. Hopefully this performs well and keeps his momentum going on radio.

Rebecca Lynn Howard/Trisha Yearwood's "I Don't Paint Myself Into Corners" would be one of the first examples that comes to mind for me, along with the two you listed! |

I doubt they wanna release it to radio yet with Carrie Underwood having her own solo single Ok, that’s fair. Looking at how long the chart climbs were for Cody and Carrie’s last singles, that might work out for both of them to release the duet more into the fall/winter. Well if this climbs similarly to his last single, it won't peak until next summer. That said, it has lead single momentum/hype so it'll probably go up a bit quicker than that, provided it's radio-friendly. I still think the best case scenario for him though would probably be more along the lines of a 6-month climb. |

The teaser sounds promising but I don’t see it connecting like “Til You Can’t” did.

This is a well-written song, and I like the verse well enough, but I wish the chorus melody was a little more distinct.

This sounds really similar to “Human”. He should have released something with more tempo to keep things fresh. It’s a good song but will it stick out? Just not the direction I would have went for a lead single.

Man, it has really been bugging me trying to figure out what this song reminds me of..... But I finally did it! Tim McGraw's "Die By My Own Hand". The chorus structure is nearly identical to me. With the exception that this one somehow happens to be boring, while Tim's has actually been stuck in my head ever since I heard "The Painter"  |

Glad this is doing well for him, and I'm happy that it's climbing the charts pretty quickly because I can't wait for this to hit the top of the charts so we can bring on the true juggernaut that is "Dirt Cheap" and see that become one of 2024's monumental smashes.
