You sparked a little controversy this round, but in the end a right choice was made (on your end) and you are now the first finalist! You have been dominating since we get to top 5 and you truly deserve it. Congrats, you now have 50% chance to be crowned the winner!
Reputainbow: "Excuse me while I kiss this guy. Jimi Hendrix feels too well known to me to just be a one hit wonder. But yeah, this is something I wish I liked more than I actually do, sorry." (7.5) Aero: (7.5) Trilogy: (8.2) MoD: "Unsurprisingly, the highlight here is the guitar. But the song itself is excellent as well, feels like a hard to dislike song." (9.0) Filthy: "What a timeless banger." (8.5) Samba: "A banger guitar-driven tune. Catchy as hell." (9.0) Mayman: (9.1) Gates: "This song is all about warped perception like you're looking into another dimension; heightened and shameless emotion; and intoxicating sensuality. One of the plain coolest songs by one of the plain coolest musicians of all-time." (8.0) Wrip: "I’m probably too tired from today to properly describe my thoughts on this but it’s really good 🙂" (8.9) Samo: "It's obviously an iconic song, but I've never really loved it? The sound is pretty amazing for 1967 but it's not something I would return to now." (7.4) JUDGES: 84.9 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0
Reputainbow: "My favorite song from ‘The ArchAndroid’ and one of my favorites among Janelle’s discography. Love the lyrics, production and the guitar solo." (8.9) Aero: (7.0) Trilogy: (7.1) MoD: "Nice production, but I'm not entirely sold by her performance." (6.7) Filthy: "Cool song, but I think there’s so many better options to chose from for this theme. I wasn’t a fan of some of the vocal delivery." (6.8) Samba: "This remains her best song imo. What an exhilarating song!" (9.7) Mayman: (8.5) Gates: "It's like she went "I'll write the kind of anthemic song Beyoncé would sing, but I'll produce it like it's going on Stankonia"." (8.4) Wrip: "Brilliant, showstopping, body moving, head banging, song. I love Janelle Monáe." (9.4) Samo: "Janelle just never misses tbh. It's not one of my absolute favourites on The ArchAndroid but I love the guitar work in the last third." (8.5) JUDGES: 81.0 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0
WEEKLY SCORE: 83.0 OVERALL SCORE: 889.3
You made it. By the skin of your teeth. You have the guest judges to thank for you making the finale. You're in the finale now, and once again solidifying that you're the bottom assassin of the season.
Reputainbow: "I’ve listened to two songs by The Cardigans prior to this (“Lovefool” and “Erase/Rewind”). I’m still a sucker for the former, but this is quite great." (8.4) Aero: (10) Trilogy: (7.4) MoD: "I can't stand Lovefool, but this one is really solid. Great blend of indie and pop." (8.7) Filthy: "Awesome discovery!" (8.0) Samba: "So good. I love that it doesn't sound like their one hit - and in a welcomed surprising way. Guitar is great." (8.3) Mayman: (8.7) Gates: "With any Cardigans song, you never have to worry about if Nina Persson is going to bring that wonderful voice with the sweet yet sassy delivery, because she always does. The songwriting is pretty good but it doesn't really surprise or amaze me with what directions it takes. The strength of this song is primarily in the production--the tactile feel of the drums, the bass that is more buzz than low-end, the guitar that almost sounds like it's radioactive." (8.2) Wrip: "Not sure if this is the first time I’ve heard this but it’s a banger!" (8.5) Samo: "Not sure where I've heard this before but that chorus melody is insanely catchy. The rest of the song is pretty cool too." (7.7) JUDGES: 83.9 | ROLEPLAY: 2.0
WEEKLY SCORE: 85.9 OVERALL SCORE: 888.9
This is one of the most heartbreaking eliminations of the season. I completely understand how you wouldn't feel confident coming into this round but you put up a great fight anyway. You did *very* well this round but you just fell short to beating Hamed by a hair. I had hopes that you'd be the one who take it all with your incredible consistency in this entire season, and I'm really sad it wasn't the case. Thank you for participating!
Cold War was the 2nd song I had ever heard from Janelle back around like 2011 or 2012, only 2nd cause Tightrope was in Just Dance 3 for some reason lol. I think it was probably the first song I really resonates with on a deep level and the words "I was made to believe their is something wrong with me" + her delivery has stuck with me as one of the strongest lyrics I've heard in my life. The whole song really is up there as one of my favorite songs of all time cause it just has such personal significance to me and the production is stellar. The ArchAndroid is such a phenomenal record and definitely one of top 10 favorite albums ever made.
The moment I realized Janelle actually counts for this round I just knew I had to send her, took me awhile to remember she counted cause We Are Young is one of the very few songs with Janelle that I don't use at all lol. I was pretty close to sending Cold War, Tightrope, What An Experience, Locked Inside, or Oh Maker.

The duck will be putting up a fight! That he will win! You know when they say may the best man win, well. That’s certainly not hamed. so. good luck tho!
This seasons will follow the same format that was established previously in Season 4. The finale uses a "points" system, and the winner will be decided by their "points" that will come from three sources: 1) Overall score: Every points they received throughout the season from Round 1-Round 12, excluding casting round, will be tallied and accumulated together. 2) Voting: There will be a Google Form made where people can vote. Finalists will have their songs put into match-ups with each other and people will vote for them. Winner of each matchups get +10 points added to their overall score, or +5 points in the event of a tie. EVERYONE is welcomed to participate in this Google Form voting, that includes audience members, eliminated contestans, AND judges. 3) Judges Final Vote: The last part of the finale. The 6 permanent judges will evaluate your journey in this competition, and each of them will vote for who they think should win. Every vote casted by the judging panel member is worth +15 points.
If there are questions, please feel free to ask. Voting forms will be posted momentarily.
Below are the Spotify playlist and the link to the finale voting. Please listen to all the songs before voting, at least the ones you didn't know beforehand. NO BIASED VOTING!
Voting will be open for exactly five days, so it's due on October 7th - extension may happen if I still don't get many votes by the time the voting period ends. Good luck! :)
We are starting this finale show by announcing the public voting's result. Winner of each match-up gets +10 points, or +5 points in the events of a tie.
Standing in front of me are two Waffle House Lanas, but I can only choose one winner. I have really enjoyed being a judge this season and discovering new, great music. With that out of the way, I have multiple criteria to choose the winner of this season. I preferred Hamed’s picks over D12’s in 11 out of 13 rounds (Well Rested and Criminal being the songs I preferred from D12). My cumulative total points for Hamed is 120.3; D12’s is 113.1. Hamed’s average score was 8.6; D12’s was 8.1. The highest score I gave Hamed was a perfect 10.0 (Say It Right), and the highest score I gave D12 was a 9.7 (Joga).
Bias aside, Hamed and D12 dominated the first half and the second half of the game respectively, with four FCOs each. Hamed had more time spent in the bottom 2, but that was mostly in the endgame. Hamed also made it clear he wanted to take multiple risks this season, with the biggest one easily being Rainbow Road.
I think my vote is clear, but I do wanna let D12 know I really enjoyed lots of songs he sent this season (Kamikaze, My Rajneesh, Joga, Makes Me Wonder, Well Rested, Sweet Disposition, Criminal, Instant Crush, On the Floor). My vote to win is for Hamed, whose submissions I all loved except for one (sorry to Musique).
Hamed voted for me to win last season too fwiw, so we love this role reversal.
First of all, I should set in that I did what I could in the public form to get a cursory recount of choosing who I should give my vote to. Emerging from the very basic determinants from song comparison to picking who was better from those factors alone, Hamed, at the process' end point was my bigger bet and was who I voted for, but that's not to mean District lost his fighting chance. That only shows that my task at officially voting as a judge is very different from how I did using the form; so much has to be trickled down.
Talking about the songs that the two finalists send for every round throughout, District's array was far closer to my musical fondnesses, even if Hamed had more obvious songs I would send if I was in his place (DYWC, Pig Feet, Murder On The Dancefloor). District had much more consistency to be seen in the progress chart as well, whereas Hamed was playing dangerously a lot, especially near the end of normal rounds.
Still, both have been esteemed in several facets of their plays in this season, both had 10s given out by me, kept the season entertaining in the thread on Pulse and on Discord every time I bothered to read the server, score averages couldn't even be the breaker here because it was so telling to me from the beginning that both would do amazing.
Alas, someone has to win and be a runner up. This may get back at me later, but it were up to me only, Hamed would be this season's winner. I won't say this enough though, these both revered me for the entire time this has been going and I would be content if the reverse ensued.
I feel like both participants brought in their A game and it shows, two amazing performances and either one would be a great winner. With that said though, when it comes down to the quality of their picks, I feel like District choices have aligned with my taste much more than Hamed's during the season. In averages it's 9 vs 8.4, in direct matchups District has an advantage of 6, and to put a cherry on top, I gave District 3 perfect ratings, which is pretty much strong evidence of how much i liked his choices.
Whatever the outcome is, as I said before, would be fair, but my vote goes to District without a doubt.
I think both finalists would be a worthy winner and I'll be honest, I didn't see this top 2 coming. Hamed coming in strong, winning 3 tasks in just the first 5 rounds while District was playing things safely the whole time until suddenly the tides turned and he become a contender towards the end.
I like that both tried to branch out and sent diverse set of songs. There are daring choices from both that does quite well in my book (My Rajneesh, Well Rested, etc. from District; Black Boys on Mopeds, Is It a Crime, etc. from Hamed).
So in the end, I always prefer looking at the progress. Hamed was seen as the threat all season long, and for some good reasons because if I was playing I would be terrified too at someone who wins 3 tasks in the first 5 rounds, bagging very high overall scores early on. But he was also inconsistent with some lows and bottoms that hurt his chances. Kinda the opposite, District is more consistent. Sure he was kinda placing in the middle for the earlier half of the season, but he was rarely in danger of bottoming and turned things around towards the end and pulled every muscle to get to the finals. He knows he could be in danger so he did everything to outlast the other ~seemingly~ stronger competitions. So because of that reason, District would be my choice for the winner.
This is time. It has been a long journey you guys went through. 12 difficult rounds surviving each one and beating every other competitor, and both of you have shown that you had earned your spot in the finale. District and Hamed, both of you are returning to this game with hopes to redeem yourselves and do better than you've previously had. Now one of you is about to get the winning crown of the Last Stand Season 6.
Without further ado, with a final score of 1002.6-979.3, the winner of Pulse Music Last Stand Season is…
I think I may speak for everyone here that you didn't really have a winner edit from the first few rounds, but it was your determination that got you to improve from round to round, beating several strong competitors and that in the end you finish with a strong track record, 4 FCOs and only 1 bottom appearance! And it really looks like that the voters see how much you've improved and are willing to vote for you to win - and that's what's important in the final stage: winning the public hearts. You completed back in Season 2 but only finished at tenth place then, now you returned and made it all the way to the end and WON. Your hard work paid off and this is a really deserving winning performance.
You did a great job! In the previous seasons you played in S1, S3, and S4, you're also doing well but this time I think you really improved and this is your strongest, most daring performance yet. It says a lot that everyone sees you as a threat from the beginning. You did stumble towards the end but you left with a memorable performance! Unfortunately, the voters slightly prefer District's performance in this extremely close final race. Thank you for being a great contributing player of this game!

Hey everyone, this is crazy! First of all, thank you to Samb for hosting, to Samo for the interviews, and all the main and rotating judges for really making this season as great as it was. As Samb said I first played in season 2 and went out like 9th lol and I don't think I made it past the opening round again until this season. I'm really thankful for everyone who voted for me, as well as to Hamed, who I think was very deserving to win as well. The finale was very competitive and each of us had 4 FCOs, so it was really anyone's game and I honestly believe there was some luck for the win deciding to tip my way today.
I'm not on Pulse as much as I'd like to be these days, so being able to play this season and make it all the way to the end was really rewarding. I will do my best to be available to judge season 7 (if Samb would like me on the panel lol), and just to wrap it all up in a wholesome way, I really appreciate the Pulse community for being a haven for me, it's a little part of my life that is different from all of school and work and life where I just get to have fun. I'm very glad to have had the chance to know you all here :) Thanks again!
This was all FRAUDULENT and I was conspired/collided against but whatever, anyways congrats to District for the win. I'm truly in my Tiffany Pollard bag so we all know who really won anyways!
